I was so blessed to see him live in New York. It is a concert I will never ever forget and I will certainly go again the first chance I get. For no other artist have I ever gotten on a plane and traveled hundreds of miles to see. Late Autumn, any version is incredible but if you want the back story, find it on Gloria Wu's channel. Also, the one I can not live without is the version of Daididau, a traditional Kazakh song. The fan cam version in New York will allow you to see the heart of Dimash. He is so so humble and appreciative. He had dreamed all of his life of standing on the stage in New York and presenting the music and culture of his country. He was in tears when a sold out crowd was able to sing this song with him. People from approximately 60 countries flew in, some from as far away as Iceland, China, just all over the world.

The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental Arab technique (or traditional qazaq singing, called Joqtaw), is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist: Brilliant! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash

A bit of background on Dimash. He’s from Kazakhstan and aged 26. He was 22 when he performed SOS and other songs in the Singer competition in China. That was the start of his fame there. He’s been singing since the age of 5 and classically trained. He sings all genres of music. Both parents are musicians. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a musical director and also sings. He speaks Kazakh and Russian and is learning mandarin and English. He sings in 12 languages and plays multiple instruments. He’s also the nicest, kindest most humblest person ever! Oh...there are also rumours he’s an alien or an angel!😊 I prefer the Angel theory. 😍👼❣️

How : it all started when Dimash was 4 years old he told his grand parents their piano was out of tune, then started piano lesson and singing lesson. Being bless by a genetic talent (both parents are singer) and hard work for 20 years, that is Dimash beside being a very kind and humble guy. When he receives flowers, he gives them to ladies he is working with and to hospital and seniors houses, isn't that sweet. Please do Adagio from the I am a singer 2017 and Hello from the same show but 2018. He is absolutely amazing.

TK Top Tunes Great reaction! And you have so much more to discover! Dimash is a very versatile singer and can sing (and seamlessly combine) opera, pop, jazz scat, rap, folk. He calls his style neoclassical. He is a very hard worker and always strives s to grow, learn and improve. He has three degrees in music. Two undergrad degrees in classical and in pop/contemporary vocals and he just completed his Masters degree in composition. He has plans to continue and get his PhD. In my opinion, he is going to revolutionize music and we are the lucky ones to see him as he is beginning his journey!

No, he didn't win the Voice in China because it doesn't exist in China. He's from Kazachstan.
You’re correct. The presenter got it wrong. He was first runner-up in the Singer competition for professional singers, in China. Unfortunately, he didn’t win but in my opinion, he definitely deserved to.
There's a rumor that dimash really wins and those executives got kick out by management thats why on next singer they invited other artist outside the country and guess what jessie J won. They got biased with sandy lam because she's well known in china. So they gave her a favor.

@@maisiet8929 Yes, probably he lost the first place because he was ill and he missed the 11 step and he sang beeig ill in the 10 (Late Autumn/Autumn Strong) and 12 (Confessa and Diva Dance) step. It's interesting to see a singer ill singing so good the Diva Dance from The Fifth Element ! He lost for about 200 votes and he was missing one step ! Probably he virtually won if he was present because in the first step with SOS he get on an application similar to Twitter or Instagram in China over 600,000,000 likes in one day so he became famous in one day and from the second step (Opera 2) he could not be in the contest without body-guard !
Flavian Tica Deme He didn’t miss the 11th episode. He was exempted because he was in first place. From what I understand, it doesn’t matter what position you are going into to the final rounds, whoever wins the semi-final (episode 12) and final (Episode 13) wins the entire competition. Dimash placed second in those rounds. Anyway, he was still a winner because he came to the attention of people around the world and he continues to make his mark! 👏👏

Dimash is a great singer but he is quite humble and kind. I've never seen him in concert but I really want to. If I hear that he's coming back to the States I'll be sure to let you know.
