  • This quick guide will walk you through setting up a wind meter on an Arduino. It only take s a few minutes and I've given you all the code below.
    Banggood sent me the is wind meter and you can get one here.

    I coded a wind speed and direction station using a pic 18. The anometer produced a square wave 1hz per 4 km. I had to setup a few loops to poll rising and falling edges. The loops would keep track of iterations and when a complete period happened they would send the complete iteration count converted with a formula back to main function

      Oh that's really awesome. I've been starting to tinker with PICs a little more. Fun stuff.

    Short, sweet. Definitely a product worth looking at.

      I think so too! I really do want to make a wind direction addon for it too.

    How is the anemometer output from 0-5v and in the code you wrote in the map function from 0-2?? İsn't the max supposed to be 5 instead of 2?

    This is good..what is the brand name of that anemometer?

    What about for those of us not fluent in coding and arduinos, is there a ready made controller to buy? I'd like to use it to control a 3-phase relay. Is that possible? Thanks

    Assuming you're a curious person like myself, have you tried to open this sensor thing to see which DC motor is used in this sensor. If you could help finding the right motor, if any, by making a video, it will really help a lot of people in creating this by themselves who can't afford to buy this

      I have not tried to open it, but I may do that. I'm going to be creating a new project with it for my office.

    Nice video as usual, I have a question I have a field with internet access, what else I should buy if I wanna check wind speed at the field from my phone when I'm out of town?

      I think I would try to run it either with an ESP32 to connect it to wifi.

    Nice video. Does it measure the wind direction also ? If not how can I measure the direction?

    • @AnotherMaker
      @AnotherMaker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This one doesn't but I think they have another one that has the wing for wind direction.

    Hi,
    How did you map the output of the sensor to the windspeed? Thanks

    Great video. How long can the board log data for? Or if I wanted to log data how would i need to change the code to log to an SD card on a breakout board?
    I’m a complete novice when it comes to this stuff but want to survey the wind speed at home (looking at installing a turbine) thanks!

      The ethernet shield has a built-in SD card reader that is just kind of the easiest way to go for something like that. It just pops on top and you can do tons of data logging

    You have code available? Can you do a “how to” on properly loading the code also? And wiring properly for sensor? Total newhere.thx!
    I’m TRYING to learn. Disabled and want to learn this type of tech.

      Thank you for the reminder. I don't know how I forgot to post the code. Here it is with a hookup guide included.

      I don't have a basic upload tutorial but there are a million "Getting started with Arduino" videos that will walk you through installing the IDE, and uploading your first code.

    Hello .I have another question for you. Do you know if it is easy to use an anemometer with the RS 485 protocol. I would have bought the anemometer you recommend but it is really too expensive for my budget. Sorry

    • @AnotherMaker
      @AnotherMaker  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry. I don't know one that uses that. You may be able to use a normal one with an arduino and then use the arduino to send the RS485.

      @@AnotherMaker It's really strange, I tried several of your other videos and I had no problems with subtitling. I'll send this out into the cosmos and maybe I'll get the answer 😁. Thanks anyway
