I can think of no finer achievement to leave to future generations. The weekend was truly life-changing and changed the entire fabric of society. We must continue to fight for its existence.
And because we've met Ian through film , we are part of his story! And so we feel so incredibly proud to know the great great grandfather who fought for our weekends!
The delicate nature of the actual materials (paper and ink) over time preclude any reasonable preservation techniques. Better of copied and duplicated which most likely have been.
Money. Easy to make demands when you are not paying for it. I’m sure they will accept your generous donation of a few thousand pounds to meet your high standards.
@@anisafaruqi9330, thanks for confirming the obvious. Public archives have very little money for preservation, so anyone whining about the state of documents should make a large donation or shut up.
What a legacy to be proud of. On behalf of my weekends off, thank you Robert Lowes ❤️
Here here
leave it to gandalf to have ancestors who stood up for the little guy.

Be proud of your family history. Such major changes in England that have improved the lives of so many to this current day. How AWESOME!!!

Love Sir Ian Mckellen
Outstanding! That's pretty darn cool.
What a great legacy Ian!!
We need a movie about Robert, with his great great grandson play ing him as an older man
Why isn't that document saved better? It should be preserved forever.

Archivist and historians are well trained to do this. I'm hoping after this was filmed that somebody was able to preserve it.

Mr. Gary this is a public educational institution. Unfortunately its finances are based on its donors.

“What is a weekend?” asks the Countess of Grantham played by Dame Maggie Smith 😂
I love his voice I could listen to Sir Ian McKellen talk all day.
✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽 love this
This man here is one of the finest actors in the world. I hope he doesn't leave us quite yet, maybe give us another five or ten years, Ian!
An extraordinary legacy of which he should be justly proud.
I just love his reactions ❤
As much as one admires Sir Ian, he is well and truly trumped here by The Father of The Weekend.
What a remarkable piece of history.

"What is a weekend?"
Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
Seeing as Ian McKellen's impression of Maggie Smith is rather noteworthy, that comment is hilarious!
