  • This isn't an episode of Angler West TV but just a day of fun fishing I had recently with Scott Nelson. Scott helps me catch my first Snakehead and explains lots of great details about these unique fish and the techniques used to target them. Check out the episode of AWTV from the Amazon with Scott. • Amazon Fishing Adventure

    Scott Nelson is one of the Snakehead masters whether it be in South Florida or in South East Asia!

    Your best show, so far. Thanks for taking the time to share it. I wonder how some Pro Scent might help the bite

      Certainly wouldn't hurt. Especially on the spinner baits. In winter, they flip them with soft plastics so that would be a time to load up on Pro Cure for sure. Thanks for watching.

    Great video Scott once again! Very informative. And for the comment below regarding the First Amendment! It's called Freedom of expression! Has everything to do with it.

    Hey bro good vid, solid informative points. Totally couldn't agree more. People have so much to sya with no actual experience w this fish. They have no clue at least HALF of a Snakeheads diet is comprised of above surface, such as mice, snakes, lizards like iguana ( which are invasive already), Basalisks ( invasive), Cane toads ( Invasive), insects and also the invasive ducklings as well. All these are invasive and consist much of their diet, leaving little room for eating subsurface, which relieves pressure on food for the native fish. Mind you Snakeheads also eat other invasive SUBSURFACE as well! Myans, Oscars, tilapia, etc.... So please quit with the hype and scare tactics, do some ACTUAL FIELD research rather than gathering someone else's opinions. BTW all the whiners about bass, I've seen bass gather in packs around a Snakehead fryball full of babies with two parents guarding, where the bass BAIT the parents away so they can eat the fry lol so no, bass are not bullyed by Snakeheads.

      Very well said and all true. And snakeheads provide yet another source of food for other species.

      Yep the bass will smash through the fry balls

      Why not? Perfectly legal to do so.

      @@michaelchapman1258 Would you like to place a wager on that? It is perfectly legal to release snakeheads where caught anywhere in the U.S. they are established.

      Again as stated, here in Florida you are allowed catch and release, I explained it in the video. Please actually look at the statues in the documents and not what is parroted on the internet or local news. I gave been fishing for them 22 years now and it expands over three Continents. I also was in contact with one of the original wildlife officials when the hysteria began and have the DNR book. There is no law which can force a person to kill an animal.

    Dude, can't you get fined for putting a snakehead back? its invasive!!!!

      Watch the entire video.

    • @swkelley
      @swkelley 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, only for transporting them live. Still listed as invasive, but research has found they aren't the threat once believed, thus the reason why catch and release where caught is perfectly legal.

      @John Brennan Honestly not sure why you are so hyped about this but the only evidence you have put fourth is assumptions and opinions. There is no scientific evidence to support the harm of ecosystems due from Snakeheads.

      @John Brennan my research is based on talking to fisheries biologists at the FWC who actually study these fish. That USGS article you're talking about is over 13 years old, if I remember correctly. Do some actual research instead of believing everything you see on TV, read on the internet or hear from an uneducated angler.

    For all the “invasive “ people out there don’t say a word unless you wanna take every pheasant out of North America, every brown trout, every salmon out of the Great Lakes ect.

    First amendment has nothing to do with forcing you to kill a fish bud.
