Timbre. If you want a high pitch that cuts like glass, go for a 6". If you want more resonance and tone, go for an 8". If you want both, have both. Size in relation to the main drums doesn't matter.
How the heck are the cymbal players gonna follow among? Poor guys can’t even do paradiddles along with drum lines. Can’t just leave em out like this. #CymbalLivesMatter
does vic firth realize that warm-ups no one actually wants to listen to? that the point is to get the "hands" warmed up? this video is 80% boring standard practice and only in the last minute worth watching
Jason Frith my point is that listening to loud 8th and 16th notes is not interesting. would appreciate more dynamics and polyrhythm between the instruments
