Your humor and candor is charming. You are informative and such a treasure to listen to. Yes, I'd like to see the inside of your home, and specifically how your interior spaces are influenced by the garden.
I am so excited about the upcoming LVTV! Linda, You deserve a great platform for all to hear about your fantastic gardening/design advice and words of wisdom! 🦋
It kind of cracks me up how we watchers ask so many questions ... I must admit, I've wondered who Stewart is? I think I'd like him too. Thank you for your patience with the questions!
Linda I just recently discovered you! Actually it was after we had that dreadful winter storm n February in Texas. I have always simply covered my plants that needed cover from icy weather .. but this winter storm was something we in Texas had never experienced. I lost all my potted plants and lots of in ground flowering shrubs. I have chronic pain and a bad leg but I’ve always managed around my garden. So for the last 2wks it’s been pulling out dead plants in the ground and getting ready to redo my garden. I have lots of shade so I decided to do away with trying to grow plants that need sunny areas. That’s when I found you because I wanted a lot of greenery and not so much flowers. I found your you tube videos and I fell in love with topiary! Topiary is my new garden thanks to you.
Welcome Mary! I can so relate to all of your gardening woes. It has been one for the record books. That said, I am so glad you’ve discovered Topiary and the value of evergreens. Thank you so much for your kind words and I hope you continue to enjoy this channel!
Linda, I found you when you showcased that beautiful little cottage with the spring green front door. Ive watched it several times. Your name resonated and then I realized Maria Killam was where I heard of you first. She and her garden are another treasure. I'm enjoying you and your channel. So happy to have found you.
Yes! The appletini front door is when I got hooked. I've learned so much from you already, Linda, and really enjoy your style in gardening, clothing, entertaining, and engaging with your audience. Nice work! and I look forward to going along with you in future endeavors. And I love your accent!
Linda I understand the taking care of color plants. I use to love to garden but at age 79 my favorite color has become GREEN. LOL.. hello from Northern California.
Green is so cooling and soothing during the summer here in the Southeast. AND good for keeping the gray and brown winters from being melancholy. I do love evergreens!
Evergreens form the structure of my garden. Drift roses are a signature of my front garden because they do not require lots of care. At 74, I still like some snapdragons or a couple other flowers. Both knees are bionic and now I have sciatica. The last has caused the most trouble, but I have hired assistance with planting trees or hauling mulch.
You have certainly inspired me!! I have tried making topiaries, I’ve made 5 already, and I look so forward to your videos!! I’ve just ordered the barnel pruners, can’t wait for them to arrive, I’ve also planted a boxwood hedge, all thanks to you and your videos!!! Thank you!!
Hope you find a way to make the cages. I will be getting some, like the look of them. Did I hear in the near future ,you hope to be gardening in COLO. What a beautiful place to garden in the mountains. We have a place GMF to go to but not this year, our son is checking on it for us , he lives there in Denver. Like the gravel so glad Lowes is where you get it, it to is near our home. I have the Garden Answer way of gardening if you do not like it or it does not give you joy pull it and replant something else. Look forward to the next Q&A and your other videos. Stay Safe and Garden on. P.S. Thanks for the Topiary source
My husband mowed the grass twice after I had a hysterectomy. There were witnesses, amazed neighbors. He doesn't like to be separated from his computer or stereo. I don't complain because he is a fabulous cook. Husband training has its limits, and I love gardening. He loves cooking.
Watching you as we speak... I'm 55 and right with ya. Love color, but too much work. I'm more and more into perennials. And I mostly have green now as well. And you just answered my question...artificial turf.... good idea.
Oh my gosh! my favorite new youtube gal! I discovered you a few days ago and decided to go back a year and plan! This is the year, at 60 :), I started getting serious about gardening. And I'm blessed with a beautiful old Victorian home in Virginia! Looking forward to my research.
Dear Linda, this is a wonderful vid and so informative. (I wondered how tall you are as well. Idk why?) I am so inspired by your kindness and natural grace that you share with all of we fellow Gardeners. I am intrigued by the garden plans that you are making and I think that would be a fun hobby to collect those as well. Bless your heart and garden away! 🌸
I would love to see you tour more gardens. You are a natural for all you do and seeing you enthusiasm for your friends garden was so exciting and inspiring. Gardeners that have spent years in their own gardens are particularly good at pointing out the bits that inexperienced gardens would overlook. My good friend works at a nursery and when she walks around my garden (5 acres and 20 years in the making) we often marvel at how big a shrub gets or how large a dwarf conifer has grown in 10 or 15 years. I love all the time and effort you put into your garden and videos. You have so much to offer and this is such a fun way for all of us to learn and share. Thank you!
Gardening in Colorado will be a whole new experience for you! I've been gardening here for close to 30 years and between the early freezes, late freezes, drastic temperature drops, animal invasions, low humidity, high heat and hailstorms, it has been a challenge. 😂😂😂 I am curious where you will be gardening? Thanks for the Q&A.
IF you want to plant in containers and have them over winter in your zone you need to buy plants that are 2 zones lower than where you live. I live in zone 6 so in order to overwinter plants need to be good in zone 4. Gonna help Linda out when she says Oklahoma City, OK get to about 95 degrees that's the temperature but not the humidity temperature as that can be 110 degrees or higher. It is very hot. I attend family reunions at a lake around Kellyville (close to Tulsa) and it's hot. We have very humid weather in Missouri also but thankfully it's not as humid as in Oklahoma. Remember Green is a color also. Her boxwoods are gorgeous.
Frieda Hickman I appreciated when she talked about layering textures and the variety of green colors. While she was sitting there I noticed the leaves of mahonia, the boxwood, laurel, and I thought I saw hydrangea. That was all very appealing, - calm.
Thanks for all your answers! It is so nice of you and your husband to share your time with us. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I love having these kinds of visits in the shade of your beautiful back yard! The lemonade was good! Ha. Did I hear you right is the "grass" artificial turf????? I like the way it looks and to me it looks real. So thanks for another tip. My backyard is all dirt and it looks like a desert and makes me feel like I am in a desert! Not sure what to do...my dog runs runs a Kentucky Derby around the yard So maybe artificial turf would be something to think about. Plans so exciting! Thanks again!
love analogies too. i have shared your throw pillow and furniture one with friends. been gardening for 50 years and i love your passion for gardening .
Mosquitos like people that allow sugar in their diets. I've always been prey for mosquitos until the year I quit using it. Then they never bothered me! A miracle!
Oh my goodness, Kalamazoo, Michigan, is only about 45 miles from me. It always seems such a surprise when I hear something nearby mentioned in a video, especially a video from halfway across the country. 😁
I love watching your videos, and always learn something useful. I have been wanting to put some of my wicker baskets in the garden, for both decoration, and to use during clean up, but I worry about them being destroyed by the weather. I would love to see Stuart!

Great questions and great answers. It was fun that some of these helped us get to know you a bit better. I love your gardens and your presentations. Your style and techniques relate well to my 1/3 acre gardens in Zone 8a. Thanks!
Thank you for the topiary tips, love your top dressing of gravel. Made my day with the lolly gag comments! Thank for the good laugh, I'm located in a suburb of Denver. Stay safe!
Thank you Linda. I sooooooo enjoy your videos and your enthusiasm is contagious and indeed inspiring. Bring on that TV channel , subscribing right away. Cheers!!!!
Hi Linda! I hate to sound like a broken record, but I'm really interested in a demo for the double pouf boxwood plants. Do you begin with a larger plant or do you let it grow into a larger plant first? Do you start with a signal pouf and then somehow let it grow out to create a second pouf? My guess is that it begins with a larger boxwood. My other question is how do you bring poorly maintained boxwoods back to life. I'm going to sell my house eventually and will inevitably find a house with some very ugly boxwoods that I would normally tear out. Thanks for all the information you provide.
@@LindaVater Thank you so much! My apologies for asking each time I left a comment ever since I started watching your videos :-) I look forward to watching it. Much Regards, Penny
I feel your passion...... Love your landscape,, Any plans for water feature? Also, surprised not to see any Japanese Maples which as you know ,do well in pots..
Thanks for all the answers! You did your paint magic on that woven plastic plant support to make it look like metal, didn’t you? So clever. I have tons of old paint in the garage and that’s to be one of my fall projects, thanks to your bright ideas. Also, I loved the apple-tini green door episode and - what a shock- I found my favorite plant, the foxtail fern, on the clearance cart at Lowe’s for $1 that day. I snapped up two. Bless you and thanks for adding beauty to my day.❤️
I so enjoyed this video. Love getting to know you better and also learn more about your beautiful garden. So I do have a question....you have inspired me to lay down gravel in my garden paths, what do you use to contain the gravel so it doesn’t stray in to grass, flower beds etc.? By the way, you have a whole inch on me Linda, I’m only 5’4” lol, so you’re tall by my standards 😂😂😂.
What a lovely green garden you have. I live in the hot, very dry (6% humidity) desert, so my green is very limited and different. Perhaps people wonder your height so they can judge the size of the plants around you.
Linda, you are such a riot. I am the same with my husband. It frustrates me that I can't lift some things, so very occasionally I get him to help, but only occasionally!! I have a fellow who prunes my trees and clips hedges, because, like you, I have come to the realization that I shouldn't be up a ladder, especially with a trimmer or something. I thought he would be good to cut the lawn for me, but nope - I do a better job. I actually think it's immensely satisfying. But about the height thing - weird! Hahahaha
How do you overwinter topiaries in pots if you're in zone 5 in southern Michigan? I have wondered for a long time how to do this. Thanks so much. I love your channel!!!!!
Has Stuart ever done a drone shot over your house and garden to get the overlay of where everything is placed? I can see why you have artificial turf. I think my husband could get into it because he's not into yardwork either. smile! En-JOYed your Q & A video.
Love your video's and how you explain your reasoning on why you do certain things. I garden in zone 4 so it is quite different than yours but I still pick up things that I can use. I'm excited for you and your new adventure. Will this be a channel that is only available to your locality? Hoping not, for I will certainly tune in. Best wishes!
Hello from zone 4 in South Dakota! Love your garden and your channel! Did you say artificial turf? We don’t use that here, so I am not familiar with it other than on football fields. 😁. Is that common to use instead of grass there due to your brutal heat in the summer?
Greetings from Greece! Indeed, your garden is an inspiration! It would be very interesting if you could talk about gardens and aesthetics that inspire you, or even references that you might have to other gardens from all over the world. One cannot but wonder what have you studied. Also, I would like to propose some plants that I think they will look great in your garden: camelia, gardenia, bauhinia, clematis and of course all kinds of jasmine species. Thank you!
I had to laugh about people wanting to know how tall you are! ...cause I wanted to know know, too but did not want to ask!😂 I also love how you dress and wondered what brand/label you like! I really do not know why I want to know but I do! 🤔Love your gardens so much!..and alll the tips you give!
What is the difference between the Worx blower and the Lithelli- I have seen them mentioned by you, so why the two diffferent ones? Love the video, looking for a light battery operated blower for my home.
Such a great idea on the print. I’m so excited. It’s hard to view direction on TH-cam idk why. I get mixed up on garden answer landscapes direction too
Interesting that people ask about “more color”, 🤷♀️ there are other video’s that have “more color”, and Linda shared those channels. Good luck, as for me I love her garden and the ones with more color too. 🌳🌺

I so agree with the textures and architectures over massive colors. In hot summer green quietness is very soothing.
It's good to know your height - makes it easier to gauge the height of your pots, plants (especially the large topiaries). Thanks!
That was great! Loved the name game, loved the spontaneity and seeing you relaxed and laughing. Good job!

Thank you!
Thank you Kathy! I will!
I had to laugh about people wanting to know how tall you are! ...cause I wanted to know know, too but did not want to ask!😂 I also love how you dress and wondered what brand/label you like! I really do not know why I want to know but I do! 🤔Love your gardens so much!..and alll the tips you give!
I’m here for all of it
Loved this! And you look especially pretty today (as you always do) 💞💞
What is the difference between the Worx blower and the Lithelli- I have seen them mentioned by you, so why the two diffferent ones? Love the video, looking for a light battery operated blower for my home.
Worx is smaller and lighter. If you don’t need much power. Litheli can do both light and heavier blowing and the charge lasts longer:)
Please make that mosquito video soon, they are driving me crazy. Love from San Antonio Texas.
Coming soon!
Do you put anything under your gravel to keep weeds at bay?
I have a question for you. Do you have any recommendations on how to age terra-cotta pots? I loved this video!
You mean with moss? Stay tuned:)
Sounds beautiful. Can’t wait
I like the quite green too 🥰
