I have replaced both rear exterior handles in the last 5 years (Canadian Cold and rough kids yanking on the handles (judging by the amount of handles that get replaced, I suspect less that ideal robustness of the handle)). Anyway, I was prepared to do the whole panel removal, scratched knees, and scraped knuckles) - now I'll tell the wife how hard I slaved! Thanks dude owe you a pint!!

Before putting the new door handle in I pulled out the broken piece with a pair of needle-nose pliers installed the new handle, Wallah, It works perfectly, thanks again!!

I noticed that only the front doors have the round plastic cap covering star bolt. Rear doors don't. Is there a way to access and loosen the star bolt for rear door handle without having to remove the entire door panel? I have an 04'

Hi. I can lock and unlock my Corolla 04 with the remote fob and with the interior central lock with no problem but in the driver side the key isn’t working. It moves the cylinder back and forward but the lock doesn’t work. The problem is the cylinder or the actuator? If it’s the cylinder, can I code a new one with my own key? I hope somebody could answer me. Thanks for the video.
If you have the right and genuine part you probably did not do something right my friend. So try to install it again. Install front door outside handle assembly (w/o Smart Key System) (a) Insert the front end of the front door outside handle assembly into the front door outside handle frame. (b) Insert the rear end of the front door outside handle assembly into the front door outside handle frame then slide the front door outside handle assembly toward the front of the vehicle to install it.
Best video. No need to take off the whole door! 5 minute fix!!

Because they obviously don't know that there is an easier and faster way and secondly they haven't studied the Toyota technical manual.

My friend did you remove the cylinder out? If you didn'd that you must do that to see what happend. Maybe something broken. Remove the cylinder.
