This song is " 'The Dark Kiss' from a Vampire" ― Turning into one of Anne Rice's paper demon's and slipping out of this mortal coil into a newer, colder, and hungrier body that's neither alive nor dead. Into the greatest darkness of the eternal abyss and crushed by it's depths ― Sure we 80's Goth's raised our protective shields to keep outsiders and posers from entering; but, that's how we were and, if, you got in then a world of dark delights awaited you.
This particular song is a Goth aphrodisiac with an opiate infused injection and showing this much respect for its renewed sensibility is an awesome job Klaus. Some people believe this was The Cure('s) best Era between 1980 - 82' when he slipped away from 'Siouxsie Sioux & The Banshees' and he had Daniel Ash, for a time, who had also struggled to get away from Peter Murphy's 'Bauhaus'. Daniel's looks gave himself an edge between all the Goth-girls, but I always thought that Daniel's voice we much better than Peter's.
This Era was a virtual "Clash of The Titans" moment and I'm extremely proud to have been a small part of that time.
