I will take photos of all the outfits I intend to put together (in case I forget what goes with what!). It helps when you are packing minimally.Every piece of clothing has to go with at least 2 other pieces.
That is an amazing idea. I am colorblind and normally end up wearing mostly navy or black since they appear the same to me. I normally travel alone, but have family or friends on either end that could help with photos since my daughter has dubbed herself my color stylist. Such a great idea, thank you again for leaving your post. :)
I learned from you that I could have my water bottle full of ice when going through TSA. What a game changer! It made my travel so much better with ice cold water!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I was thinking of putting my sealed sterile water bottle for my Cpap machine in the freezer hoping it’ll pass TSA so I have water to use until I can buy distilled water at the pharmacy or the super marche in France for our river cruise. Do you think a frozen liter of water will pass TSA?🤞🤞🤞
@@orthodiva7487 I sure do! Just drink any condensation-that'll be funny to watch though. My mom however, just used sink water two nights and her machine has been fine for years.
Packing a complete outfit in a compression cube is a wonderful idea! Between you Laurie, and your ever helpful commenters my next trip is going to be amazingly easy(and tidy). Thank you!
Laurie I just traveled internationally for a cruise around Iceland-packing for 2.5 seasons, some hiking & “dress casual” evenings was a challenge! But thanks to your videos I did pack a lot smarter. I may never not check a bag but that bag was much smaller than in the past; my carryon is smaller too, just for my camera plus an extra outfit. Thanks so much!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I completely forgot about the hot dogs so I’ll have to go back! But I saw lots of puffins, waterfalls, towers of lava, black sand, & sheep. It was wonderful!
I always overpack. I'm older and afraid I will spill or mess up an outfit. I could never pack less than 1 outfit per day. I have started using packing cubes and that helps. Also found that putting a complete outfit, undies included, in a gallon Ziploc bag is amazing.
I talk myself into packing fewer items with the idea that I intend to wear it twice, but if I mess up something, it’s a good excuse to buy a piece of clothing from my vacation city. 😁 A new pair of shoes or a nice top can be some of the best souvenirs from a trip!
I use a few simple pieces in basic black, as much as possible. It’s not for everyone, but I find that a couple of pretty scarfs are very easy to pack and create an eye-catching changeup in your travel wardrobe. Tied different ways, they are quite versatile, particularly in fall-winter-spring. Worn in Europe, in Germany anyway, you look like a native. (I can hardly figure out how they do some of those gorgeous scarf arrangements. But I keep trying!).
Since the age of two, I have traveled by air (think DC3)….and as an adult, I have been guilty of overacking, and dreaded the moment my luggage was weighed! But through your videos, I have learned I do not need half of what I thought I did. I I purchased a TravelPro carryon, per your recommendation….I LOVE IT! How freeing it is to walk past the crowd of people hanging out at baggage claim, waiting for luggage (that may or may not show up😳)! I just smile and wish I could tell them about you. 😁
I have GOT to get a compression cube. I’m a fan of the regular cubes, and a clothing envelope but I love the compression idea. I’ve always started with my shoes. It helps keep the choices down. Skechers are beautifully light.
Thank you Laurie! My name is Maria and I'm new to your channel. I'm traveling to Europe next week so I've been binging on your videos for the past few days LOL! Extremely informative :)
Funny you posted this video today! I just finished packing my sister for a trip. She is a serial over-packer!! 😂😂 I keep my outfits neutral, no patterns. My scarfs and sweaters give the color. On packing 2 bulky sweaters, I put one in the bottom of my personal bag in a compression cube. The second is draped over everything in my carry-on and tucked in.
Make a little calendar of your vacation days. Write what you plan to wear each day and things that you plan to wear twice with alternate tops. That helps me choose colors, fewer items, and spread them apart so people won't notice when you wear something again. At the side list shoes, undies, and stuff. (book, camera, toiletries) Subtract and refine selections on the days leading up to departure.
I start out with just the number of days and whether anything special is needed. for instance, our last short trip was three days and I needed a specific outfit for one evening.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie so needed to see this..traveling to Aus from RSA soon..do you have a video to assist with how /where to pack chronic meds so accessible
@@shangotte9642 Hi Shan! I do not know AUS or RSA rules for medicines, but I do recommend keeping them in your personal item bag. Here is a video for the US: bit.ly/MedicineForTSA
Hi Laurie, this video came just in time to remind me that once again I had overpacked for my trip to WDW in August. Going to try harder the next time! I have enjoyed finding shells you mentioned as being better than a tee for the plane. I MAY have been carried away by watching too many "little bag" hints as I overpacked little things I "might" need such as blue tape, duct tape, detergent, etc. LOL. Grandma was packing "just in case" someone with me needed something. I'll keep watching and try harder! Thank you for your kind and joyful demeanor as you share your experiences!
Thanks for posting and keeping us positive about traveling. I'm hoping to pack light for an upcoming beach trip. The shoes....oh my gosh, the shoes...;)
I’m doing so much better at not overpacking now that I’m older. I always wear the bulkiest clothes on the flight. I just have to make sure those items are still comfy enough for a flight. Thank you:)
Love your tips, Laurie! I am planning a carry-on England and Scotland trip next Spring for 2 1/2 weeks-taking 3 pants (wearing 4th) -brown/khaki/blue, 5 lightweight mix/match tops, a lightweight fleecy sweatshirt, a grey sweater, and wearing a jacket, taking nicer shoes and double-duty beach/shower shoes, and wearing my gym shoes. Using compression bags, minimal make-up, bar shampoo/conditioner/soap, and using a personal item as packing extension for underclothes. Plug-in electricity converter, portable phone charger, phone will double as my camera. Also my Cabeau pillow! ALL my important papers and cards will be on my person in a security pouch. I will buy a SIM card for my phone when I get there. I am ready to check off my list!
Be sure you can easily lift your suitcase. In Europe many of the subway stations don’t have escalators and do have many stairs. If you ride the train, you need to be able to lift your suitcase up the stairs onto the train and then get it back down again when you arrive at your destination. I think weight is the main issue when you are packing.
I’ve always overpacked! Thanks for the tips, Imam travelling to Rome, and Germany next Spring and plan to minimize everything possible. I’ve been rewatching a lot of your videos to keep reminding myself what not to do.
Don't know when in the spring you're going or what Germany's weather is like compared to Rome, but when I was in Rome for 2 weeks in May several years back, I took 4 shirts (1 short sleeve polo, 3 sleeveless polos), 2 skirts (lightweight midcalf, so long enough for churches/museums, but could roll the waist to shorten them a little when outside if it was hot), 2 shorts (for under the skirts), 1 pair capri leggings (for under the skirts), 3 pairs of shoes (1 flats, 1 dressy leather low hiking boots, 1 sneakers - only wore sneakers the last day or two b/c my ankle was starting to act up, wore the boots pretty much the entire rest of the time, but wore the flats for Sunday Masses b/c the church wasn't far from where we were staying), one thin sweater (mine was a thrift store find that just happened to be a 100% cashmere black button-up), a raincoat, 6 pairs of socks (mine were mostly lightweight wool blend), 1 scarf, 1 set of pajamas (jut a tank top and shorts), 1 hat (a dressy bamboo/wool one with a brim - my sister calls it a newspaper boy hat), and several pairs of underwear. I planned the colors of everything such that I could literally wear anything with anything, and I never ran out of things to wear (we didn't have access to laundry facilities, so I washed as I went, which helped a bunch, and only the parts that actually needed it, so it took a lot less time to both wash and dry) - I ended up having enough variety that I only had to wear any given outfit twice the entire trip, though that was definitely not my main objective (I ended up only wearing the short sleeve shirt once, and actually wished that I hadn't brought it at all because of that).
Hey Laurie, such great travel tips. I’m on my way to Canada tomorrow for two months, so I have packed a check in bag! Just couldn’t fit enough in a carry on for that length of trip. I haven’t mastered that yet. Too I’ll be traveling with my grand doggie on one leg of the journey and therefore she’s considered my “carry on” besides a small personal bag as you know! But I have packed my check in with these tips! Mix and matching! I did run into a problem with outerwear toward the end as I couldn’t decide what I wanted to take! Oh the joys of packing!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Laurie! I am flying to Istanbul again. Your tips help me not to overpack and help me make wise travel choices. I am 70 and diabetic. I am preparing to take 3 flights and have at least 2 layovers, possibly one long one. I have been listening to you and won't wear white on the plane! I dress simply and everything goes with everything else. I know some of the most wonderful shops in Istanbul if I need anything when I get there.
I’m leaving for Istanbul in 3 weeks for 1st time. Will you share names of good shops with me? I want to purchase a dress & long skirt to wear on trip? Can you suggest a good shop for me?
I just got back from Cozumel and yes was there when the hurricane hit. We were without electricity for almost 24 hours. I had my power bank but forgot the cable. I’m now going to have a dedicated kit for such just for travel. I actually rarely use my power bank but if I did, I’d get a second one. Also, good things to bring are baggies and trash bags. I put wet clothes in baggies to bring home and large trash bag can be used to line your suitcase if you’ll be caught in the rain. I love your channel and all your tips.
Thanks for this video. I will be watching on repeat as I make my packing list, purchase a couple new items, and finally PACK my bags. One thing I do to *try* not to overpack is to use a compression cube in the bottom of my personal item bag with a change of clothing, pjs, undies, and socks - just in case the overheads are full and I have to check my bag last minute. Im always afraid something will happen and my checked bag will be delayed. So I have always have basic clothing and essentials (medicine, makeup, deodorant) in my personal item bag. My cardigan usually gets packed last so it’s on top and easy to access in the airport or plane. 👍🏻👍🏻
I always do the same thing whenever I check a bag (I always preboard, so I never have to worry about the overheads running out of room - regional jets are the only time my suitcase even gets gate-checked, and they return those immediately at the next gate) - having those toiletries and change of clothes has saved my butt more than once when I got stuck in a layover city overnight with just my backpack.
1:55 Love this cardigan for travel and otherwise! I'm clicking on your link and ordering. Perfect for summer events indoors with the a/c blasting. Your fashion choices are spot on! 😊😊😊
Professional overpacker here (a girl needs to have options, lol). This is so helpful, asking myself again if I really need to bring it us going to solve most of the issues
When I went to Rome for 2 weeks in May 5 years ago, I brought 4 shirts, 2 skirts, 1 light thin but warm sweater, 1 scarf, 1 hat, 1 raincoat, 1 set of pajamas (tank top and shorts), and 3 pairs of shoes (1 flats, 1 dressy leather hiking, 1 sneakers - wore the flats a couple times, the sneakers only on the last day or two b/c my ankle started acting up, and the hiking shoes on the plane and the rest of the time), and for the entire 2 weeks, I only ever wore any given outfit twice, because I chose the clothing colors such that literally everything went with everything - that's what I call "options". We didn't have any access to laundry facilities, so I handwashed as I went, and only the parts of the clothes that needed it (e.g. shirt underarms vs. entire shirt), so I never ran out of anything, and both washing and drying took less time. In the end, I could have gotten away with 3 shirts instead of 4, and probably without the flats.
Back from our Alaska cruise with an update. We did this all in carry on's and personal item bags. We did this due to the uncertainty of flights and bags getting lost. Pro's: Helped to limit what we took; Fine wearing some items more than once Con's: Bags were very heavy. Flights were not non-stop which meant we had to de-plane and deal with carry on's more than once. Would we do it again? Only if bags were not so heavy. We ended up checking our two carry on bags to go home. So glad I did this just to prove I could! All of the tips Laurie gives for packing a carry on were invaluable. Happy travels, all!
Listen to this lady y'all. I watched several of your other videos prior to traveling last month and the one advice I I thought wasn't that important ended up being one of the most important ones-the one about storing easy to access clothes in a separate suitcase, so that you could easily change upon arrival. When I arrived to my Airbnb after hours of travel, I _dreaded_ the thought of having to go through my bigger briefcase, and I felt this was for up to a whole week after arrival!
My travel tip to not over pack... I make a written list of the items I already packed & leave it on the top of my suitcase. It saves me from doubting myself with what I packed or not packed. This is helpful if you are traveling with your kids.
I always plot my wardrobe. What top with what shorts and shoes. Neutral cardigan or jacket. Simple jewelry; maybe a statement necklace or bangle. Rewear items. And always wear the same outfit for flight in and out of destination. And pack a few snacks. Nuts, crackers, dried fruit. And don't forget you can buy things at your destination! Love your channel 🥰
Fingers crossed will still get to go on our trip to Europe at the end of Oct. 52 days til we're supposed to leave & I'm starting to make my packing list tomorrow!
Just shared this with my girl friends who are all flying out to see me in Hawaii next month. My guest rooms are small and it's imperative they pack light. LOL Thanks for the great tips, Laurie!
Looking forward to your international information. I need help with the adapter/converter issue. I have no idea of the difference or when and where to use either. Thanks for all your helpful videos.
Hi, hope to have it Sunday night. I found a great one; the main reason we need this type is to convert our curling iron or hair dry wattage. This one does it and has plugs for most areas: bit.ly/2WEijlo
Just home from trip to Door County, the gentlemen handling my suitcase couldn't get over how light my bag was compared to others. I also had room to put a few purchases, love packing tips.
Hi Laurie you have inspired me so I have so many of your suggestions making me ready for a trip somewhere. My Peeps came in yesterday. You were so right they are great cleaning my glasses. Thank you for all the wonderful tips. Safe travels.
Loved these tips, thanks, Laurie! For a short trip-within-a-trip in Germany. I’m using compression cubes to pack my rolling underseat bag, and a backpack like the one you use. Done! For train travel, you move and manage your own luggage more than when traveling by air. If I haven‘t overpacked, It’s much easier to haul my bag onto the train, with a lot of people behind me! A backpack like yours is great so you are hands-free for your larger bag. Thanks, and I look forward to your next videos!
Since I've come across your channel I've been binge watching as I'll be traveling to Europe this October and I'm soaking up your insights. I have a knack for overpacking. I've learned a lot of tips and I am so thankful for you.
We go on Viking River cruises so we have day outfits and smart casual for the evening so I will check my suitcase. I will be international so can’t wait for the next video. God bless b
Laurie, your tips are so helpful and timely. We leave from Chicago (90°) to Seattle (70°) soon. Wrapping my mind around the change in temperature is challenging (let alone the packing). PJs are where I can be flexible…….daytime shirt can double as a sleep shirt if needed. I also use a pair of socks to wrap around my curling iron…hot or not. My cold weather headband can also hold back my hair for putting on makeup AND be used as a nighttime eye mask☺️. Time to make a list! Love that suggestion too!

Does this 22" Travel pro (2 wheel) rollaboard roll down the airplane isle to get to you seat? Or do you have to pick it up, turn it sideways, and carry to your seat? A spinner turns sideways, but with 2 wheels, I just wonder how that works.
Hi, this one you have to pick up. BUT I just received today this pretty bag: bit.ly/3rqn4eK But I wish I had gotten the teal one. It's GREAT! And spins.
Thank you for your travel tips. I always have a tendency to overpack. I agree about the shoes. I will keep in mind about if the shoes go with 2 or more outfits. I always pack my shoes on the bottom of my checked in bag. I definitely pack according to the weather.
@@jimmysgrl You really don't want a steamer trunk. Yes they look like they hold a lot and they do! But they will cost you a fortune to travel with. First, they are over sized. Extra luggage fees. Second, they are overweight empty. More extra luggage fees. Third, they don't have wheels. More money for luggage handlers and carts. Fourth, you can't take them on public transportation. So it's taxis all the way. It"s much better to learn to pack lighter. If you can't, bite the bullet and buy a larger suitcase and check it. I have a small steamer trunk that belonged to my mother. It's always been used for storage.
2 weeks and counting before I head to Istanbul for 3 months. I always overpack, so I have already started packing so I can keep it under control for this trip! LOL I'm determined not to overpack this time. I figured whatever I forget or need, I will be able to find it in Istanbul. Definitely looking forward to your International travel gear video! Very helpful! I put shoes individually in large baggies (the kind with no zip closure) and place them in the divots. Then my packing cubes with clothes can smush on top of them.
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🤞🤞leaving for Croatia Wed the 8th. I hope I have studied enough of your videos to pack what I need and leave what I don’t need. We are so hoping and praying announcements today and tomorrow are favorable for our trip. I will be ugly crying if they aren’t. 😢😢😢
I’m planning for 2 weeks in Europe in November, highs in the 40s, and no access to laundry. We try to check one bag between us on the way over, with an empty foldable tote, so we can check 2 bags on the way back. Yes, I love to shop while we’re there. LOL
If you don't have access to laundry, I very highly recommend handwashing as you go (instead of waiting until you're out of something), and only what actually needs it (e.g. shirt underarms instead of the entire shirt, feet/soles of socks instead of the entire sock, spot-wash stains, etc.) - makes both washing and drying go so much faster; I just washed them in the bathroom sink using the hotel shampoo, then rolled them up in a towel and sat on it to get them as dry as I could before hanging them up to finish drying.
@@fishandfloral You're welcome. I only tried the spot washing after I realized that things were taking longer to dry than I wanted in a Rome hotel room with no air circulation, and I never looked back - spot washing was definitely the way to go.

Probably going solo. I can’t wait for next weeks international tips and to watch all your Europe and international videos!
Enjoying your travel videos…I have found that wearing a backpack and carrying a small crossbody bag through the airport works best for me…the crossbody holds my phone small wallet passport etc …when it’s time to board I simply put that into the backpack…I still take too many items of clothing…I’m afraid of stains etc and want another option just in case:)
was set to say I went to Scotland in 2019 with nothing that couldn't go with everything else, and then I remembered I took golf shoes and pants. we also planned to take an extra suitcase nested inside my suitcase (I'm the lighter packer) for bringing back our christmas shopping, but we ended up sending it over with friends from there because THEY needed an extra bag.
I always overpack. These videos are very helpful, Laurie, thank you. One area I really struggle with is that I normally have uniform attire. So basically I need extra tops to wear for going out & sightseeing, pants can cross over. Invariable there’s normally at least 2 rainy days with lots of mud being created, where essentially I have to take my muck boots (so not cute). I guess I could wear those to the airport🤪. One thing I always try to do is wear slip on shoes for TSA check.
My next trip will be to Toronto from New Jersey in April of next year. I haven’t traveled internationally since 2011. Anything new I should know? Like the Customs Declaration?? Thanks a bunch!!
I think it is all the same except for being tested and having your shot card available a few times. Just make it easily accessible. Have a wonderful trip, Sylvia!
Great tips! Also, make sure to check the airlines baggage policy before packing. I have found some international carriers have stricter/ smaller sizes than US carriers. Aer Lingus: Carry-on 22lbs, 21.5x15.5x9.5 and a personal item could only be 10x13x8. That’s only for the international portion because if you have a connecting flight that’s regional, the weight limit is only 15 lbs.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I actually purchased an international size carry-on for just in case purposes. Then did a test run and I was actually able to pack for three weeks in Europe with an international sized carry-on.
I'm going to be heading out to visit with family for a couple of weeks and a wedding. I'm doing my best to cut down what I'm taking, since I'll be carrying my son's suit with me. He's coming up later, but wants to just bring a carry on and his back pack. I'm excited about traveling, would love some advice about traveling and being visually impaired. Getting to the right places and being in crowds and not seeing too well is starting to stress me out, especially since people can 'pop up' in my limited field of vision at the last second.
A video of this sort would be helpful for a lot of people. I know airlines offer help for seniors with mobility issues. A porter to push the wheel chair who knows all the shortcuts through the airport. Some airports have golf cart type vehicles in the building to give rides to the elderly or handicapped. It would be helpful to know who you need to speak to gain access to these services. Also a video for kids who have to travel alone. Who should they ask for help and what services are offered.
I've been flying with a wheelchair for the last 3 years, and while I know it's different, there should still be an option when booking your flights for marking any assistance needed, regardless of airline - until a year ago, I needed someone to push me from one gate to the next, so I always marked it when booking my flights, then when I got to the airport on the day of, I checked in at the counter (yes, it can sometimes take forever if the lines are long - plan ahead, because it's worth the wait: there were times where if I hadn't checked in at the front desk, I wouldn't have had any help, because there had been a mix-up and my request for assistance hadn't made it onto my reservation), made sure that the assistance need was marked on my ticket, and on my last trip, I asked the flight attendant on each flight to call ahead to the next airport so that someone would already be at the gate waiting for me when I got off the plane (I once had to wait almost half an hour for someone to come, despite the amazing gate agent calling down to their supervisor 4 or 5 times, so I learned my lesson - if the supervisor had taken any longer to send him up, I would have missed my next flight). I don't know what exactly the options for a visually impaired traveler would be (whether the golf carts, or someone to walk with you, or what), since that's not something I deal with, but the process should be similar for getting assistance for it. Hope that helps at least a little.
@@SnowySpiritRuby Thank you, I have layovers, and going through Atlanta, I know gates can change at the last minute. My first trip only has a 35 minute layover. I'll be sure to ask when I get on board to have someone meet me at the gate to take me to the next gate.

It is so nice!
I have GOT to get a compression cube. I’m a fan of the regular cubes, and a clothing envelope but I love the compression idea. I’ve always started with my shoes. It helps keep the choices down. Skechers are beautifully light.
I got this brand because you get two large in the set.
Thank you Laurie! My name is Maria and I'm new to your channel. I'm traveling to Europe next week so I've been binging on your videos for the past few days LOL! Extremely informative :)
I am so glad for you!!
Fantastic tips and glad you helped her!
Sweaters? Why would you pack sweaters? Especially two? Just put on two layers of T-shirt when the temperature drops and you'll be fine.
Make a little calendar of your vacation days. Write what you plan to wear each day and things that you plan to wear twice with alternate tops. That helps me choose colors, fewer items, and spread them apart so people won't notice when you wear something again.
At the side list shoes, undies, and stuff. (book, camera, toiletries)
Subtract and refine selections on the days leading up to departure.
I do this. It works great for me.
Works for me too.
Love this process!
Yes! I love to pack for 1/2 my trip. Beginning and ending is my travel outfit.
I start out with just the number of days and whether anything special is needed. for instance, our last short trip was three days and I needed a specific outfit for one evening.
Great tips. I highly recommend those lightweight packable down jackets. They're a game changer.
Yes, I didn't like mine so I just got a new one...eeek!
Laurie!! Almost 100k subscribers!! i’m so excited 😆
Me too!!!
This is something I am learning. My problem is I always tell myself, just in case, then end up realizing I overpacked. Great video!
No more just in case for me. I plan to wash things.
Thank you!
Every time I travel I watch your videos. I’m traveling again. Funny to see my comments from many yrs ago. Your awesome
Hahaha welcome back!
You can always buy “just in case” items at your destination. It's not like we're going up the Amazon (in most cases)!
I completely understand!
Thank you:)
Great tip! Hope you get to travel again soon!
Love these!
I hadn’t thought of a SIM card in Europe! Great idea!
Ooh I’m thrilled for you! Thin layers, thin layers…
Yay, how beautiful it will be. I would check a bag as well!
Ooh, that sounds amazing! Way to go. What do you do on long layovers?
I just got back from Cozumel and yes was there when the hurricane hit. We were without electricity for almost 24 hours. I had my power bank but forgot the cable. I’m now going to have a dedicated kit for such just for travel. I actually rarely use my power bank but if I did, I’d get a second one. Also, good things to bring are baggies and trash bags. I put wet clothes in baggies to bring home and large trash bag can be used to line your suitcase if you’ll be caught in the rain. I love your channel and all your tips.
Love these tips and so glad you're okay!
Thank you for watching and sharing Susan. Have a great time!!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I have to say thank you for your suggestion of the cross body purse. Got mine today. Can’t wait to use it!!

This is helpful, I am listening with diligence because I am a serial over packer and want to change that !!
Those shoes too! They take up so much space.
Thank you and wishes for many more travels!
Thank you for sharing your experience!
My travel tip to not over pack...
I make a written list of the items I already packed & leave it on the top of my suitcase. It saves me from doubting myself with what I packed or not packed.
This is helpful if you are traveling with your kids.
That's a great idea!
Heading to Spain, Italy and France at the end of April. Looking forward to your next video.

This has been extremely helpful. I will be heading to the UK in May of 2022 which will be my first international flight. I do want to be prepared. 😉🥰
EEEEK! So beautiful. Here is an intl tip video: bit.ly/LongFlightTravelTips
Thanks for sharing!!
Fingers crossed will still get to go on our trip to Europe at the end of Oct. 52 days til we're supposed to leave & I'm starting to make my packing list tomorrow!

Hi Laurie you have inspired me so I have so many of your suggestions making me ready for a trip somewhere. My Peeps came in yesterday. You were so right they are great cleaning my glasses. Thank you for all the wonderful tips. Safe travels.
Oh good! We love ours.
Great tips, Laurie! I find I overpack for business trips, business clothing just feels that much harder to keep simple.
I would agree, but belts, scarves and then several tops could help. How do you fold a blazer or suit coat?
I love watching your videos Laurie! Entertaining in a practical way! 👍😊
Oh thank you!
I went Denver last September to visit my brother and sister in law and the weather was nice.
Ooh, good tip, Corrie!

Yes! Traveling internationally in mid-September!
Oh fun! Thin layers may help.
I'm getting better as we travel. Best tip is to have an outfit in your carry-on. Lost my suitcase in Tanzania! 4 days in the same cloghes.

Ugh I am so sorry!
HAHA -every trip I say I am going to NOT overpack but I always do :)
Me too! Especially when I cruise. I need one of those old timey steamer trunks! 😆
Ditto!
I can relate!
Me!
Congratulations on 100k Subs!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Great tips!!!! Love your channel! Going on a cruise in February, packing tips definitely needed 😊
Ahhh cruising again!!!
I’m planning for 2 weeks in Europe in November, highs in the 40s, and no access to laundry. We try to check one bag between us on the way over, with an empty foldable tote, so we can check 2 bags on the way back. Yes, I love to shop while we’re there. LOL
When I went to Europe years ago, I shipped a bunch of stuff back, b/c we never check bags.. Expensive as hell but totally worth it!!
@@SnowySpiritRuby I was considering hand washing but had not thought of spot washing. That’s quite brilliant!
Another tip is to use dress shields. Easy to launder and dry quickly. Disposable ones are also available.
@@fishandfloral You're welcome. I only tried the spot washing after I realized that things were taking longer to dry than I wanted in a Rome hotel room with no air circulation, and I never looked back - spot washing was definitely the way to go.

Sounds great! I hear ya.
Always good to know❣️🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️👍🏽
was set to say I went to Scotland in 2019 with nothing that couldn't go with everything else, and then I remembered I took golf shoes and pants.
we also planned to take an extra suitcase nested inside my suitcase (I'm the lighter packer) for bringing back our christmas shopping, but we ended up sending it over with friends from there because THEY needed an extra bag.
We are traveling to London and Italy in June😊
I am thrilled for you! I want to so bad.
Yes that would make it so tricky. Gallon bags for your shoes? Compression cubes that do not require a vacuum cleaner?
Yes, number one!
@@katrinahough290 Sounds like a plan. Let us know how it goes.
Hi, I do have a video for minors: bit.ly/UnaccompaniedMinorTips
Flying out of CLT next week for a two day trip. ✈
Taking a 16" TravelPro bag and a Travelon messenger bag 🎒.
Using compression cubes (Eagle Creek).
Definitely going to pack as light as possible this time around!
Thanks for the interesting video! ❤🌍✈❤🌍✈❤
Way to go! Have so much fun.
Yay! I am so glad I listened to you and tried something new.
I am on my trip now, and I did NOT over pack. I only took my 16" TravelPro and my Travelon messenger bag. I have everything I need, I haven't missed a thing and getting through TSA was a breeze.
It was so much easier not schlepping too much stuff around the airport.
Thanks for all your helpful suggestions. 💛❤✈❤💛
@@sunnyscott4876 So glad to know. Thank you for your feedback!! Have a glorious time!
Going to Seattle, WA. Not international but long trip any way. More than eight hours.
