  • Howdy! In this video I show how I built this DIY Modern Room Divider with just a few tools. I start with prepping the 2x4's, then show you how I secure it to the subfloor and the trusses. I also show how I built it in place so as not to need any trim at the top or bottom and to give it a modern sleek look. This project will define any space and give it some personality without losing any light! Thanks for watching!

    you are awesome! I have been looking for practical ways to build a room divider without making a small house feel stuffy. You broke it down into super easy steps, and made me feel like I can do it myself. It is honestly so refreshing to see this type of tutorial with someone just being real, not compensating or promoting for anything. THANK YOU! your space is beautiful and so is your handsome pup :)

    It’s funny because people typically remove walls to make spaces look bigger.

    • @TheAwesomeOrange

      Yeah… all depends on the space. This adds so much style but doesn’t close it off like a traditional wall would. 🍊

      Every way I can think of requires anchor the divider to something so there will be holes. Maybe get your landlord’s permission. Tell them it adds character to the space. 🍊

  • @rohanblues
    @rohanblues ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I bought 3 4-panel dividers to section th-cam.com/users/postUgkxWv_wTHyTRVm0QkcOw1Rz2-5g_gDoRTkU off a living room space into a bedroom. The panels came on time, in good condition and were reasonably priced except the $25/panel shipping cost could have been a bit lower. They do have considerable gaps between the panels, which I will tape with a black electric tape. They are light, however with no wind inside, this is not a problem. You cannot make out any shapes through them, though they also let diffused light through so it does not darken the room.I calculated that every two panels at an angle can cover up to 24-30 inches width on the floor. It is safer to be around 26 inches (for every two panels) since by 30 inches it begins to be a bit unstable. I have 7 panels covering 92 inch width, and 5 panels covering 64 inch width. I had ordered 3 4-panel dividers, but I was easily able to take one panel off and attach it into the middle of another, thus creating a 3-, 4- and 5-panel dividers within a few minutes.

    Obsessed with this! My condo is super small and as soon as you open the door it's the living room right your face so I've been trying to figure out a solution to make it look a little more separated. I think this will be perfect! What brand of measuring tape did you use? I've never seen one hold so firm when stretched out so long. All the ones I've used have always been super floppy and bend all the time.
