    Started practicing sweep picking January 1st, with muted strings. And Everything you said was spot on.

    I've said it so many times, but in case you missed it...best guitar teacher on the Internet by far. Great lesson!

    Thank you! 10 minutes after watching this lesson my sweeping is already improving drastically. I had spent the past week simply trying a downward "sweep" stroke with little results. Integrating the muted 2 string and 3 string approach made a difference withing minutes of attempting.
    You're lessons are excellent, very technical without fluff yet understandable. I appreciate your channel very much!

    This is by far the best and better explained sweeping video I've ever seen. He's not trying to show off while "teaching"

    I like the focus on the picking hand only. That's where I'm having issues. Best to start at the foundation. Great lesson! Thanks 🍻

    Nice one! I was doing something similar (muted percussive) but on 3 strings. This REALLY focuses you on fixing your right hand. Thanks!

    Yes, such a refreshing and engaging client side manner, love it. There are so many poor teachers on the net, many are unqualified. So Thank you for this I am now ver keen to visit your website..

    Been playing 40 years, mostly rock n roll n country, but I'd like to learn sweep picking, not so much so that I can apply it to the music I play on stage but to be a bona-fide Guitar Center noodler hero haha!
    Jokes aside, you sir are the most comprehensive instructor I've come across on the tube! Thanks for the free lessons pal! Much appreciated!

    3:12 James Hetfield must have been sick the day they taught that... Great channel dude, you are a great teacher, love the attitude you have (also like the way it looks like a floating pair of arms and head is telling that economy picking is a lie)
    edit was to change timestamp

    I'm no expert but it seems to me that the difference is the dynamic of the motion, individual unidirectional strokes vs a single stroke releasing the bleeding notes.

    Is playing chords considered sweep picking ? It's so frustrating knowing how to do it but I can't when I'm trying to sweep pick like solos or scales. My right hand cannot go slow while my left hand moves fast. It's like trying to Pat your head and do circles on your stomach and then reverse that split second you feel when you're about to reverse the cycle, that's where my brain goes when I try to sweep pick it just doesn't work lol .. I just need to find a scale that is easy but effective for sweep picking

    • @Exit_343
      @Exit_343 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same!! Right hand is used to fast down strokes and heavy string attack. Fret hand just goes off on its own. Having to train my right hand is so weird...I've always focused on my left hand to play as fast and accurate as possible.

    I like your videos, but I don't think that you can mix up economy picking an sweep picking. I do economy picking, but as soon as I play across more than 2 strings, it is sweeping. It might look different if you do alternate picking,but if you play econony picking normally you see the difference.

  • @binio28
    @binio28 ปีที่แล้ว

    so sweep picking on one string = alternate picking ;-)

  • @joeisitt1904
    @joeisitt1904 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    There's no such thing as alternate picking, you are sweeping one way and then the other way even on a single string, haha, then again if you sweep over several strings and then change direction you are alternating the picking, heehee.

    excellent as always.. thank you...... still about the 'terminology' my biggest pet peeve is guitarist using a D# when the proper designation should be Eb.. cast in Cminor it's C D Eb F G Ab Bb C.. not C D D# F G Ab Bb C... not D# omg. this drives me nuts.. lol.. if you don't name it correctly, you'll never master music theory..
