Naughty old Harrier, . . downdraught from an air display Harrier in the hover at a late 1980s Farnborough caught my open Golf driver's door and nearly blew it off its hinges The shut lines on that door were never the same again. I bet the designers never anticipated that effect !
If Hugh Lorrie was standing beside him i would think they were related...in a good way mind you! You can still find carved wooden models of harriers in shops and souvenir tables in Belize
Popmaster Chris! 😂 Good interview and great trailer for a great book!
I worked on GR3s as a Flight Systems Tech (trying to keep that finicky and unreliable navigation and weapon aiming system working as well as we could) on 1(F) Sqn with Chris 1970-80 timeframe - Top bloke
What a fantastic interview Mike! I absolutely love this cold war stuff, iconic British cold war worriors, amazing to hear from the guys that flew them, guys that we dreamed of being as kids, amazing, love that Chris would fly the SR-71 😁👍👍
Cheers Mike!!
Touche with Pop Master, although I don't have the luxury of listening to it everyday. Mine is twice a week max.
Popmaster is a national institution. The wheels of industry stop turning everyday to tune in haha. Seriously though. Great interview and really interesting to hear about the Cobham ops too. Cheers chaps.
Cheers Ian.
Another great interview. Any chance of a part 3 covering Chris’ time in the Falklands?
Cheers Nic. Always a possibility.
Read years ago that the Harrier GR5 had more onboard computing power than the Tornado GR1! Great interview as usual.
Thanks!
Amazing Man, Kudos...
The Elephant in the room that no one is talking about is a Sea Harrier.
I’m pretty sure this was filmed at the north east land sea and air museum.
Correct. Great museum.
