Thanks John! Another concise and to the point video! You have great models in your area. There are a couple of floor level shots that are really fantastic! 🇨🇦
Regarding TTL with Godox and Sony, you are absolutely right. It always underexposes by roughly 2 stops. I thought my gear was defective, until I came across your videos where you have mentioned that a few times.
This is my favourite of the models you work with. She could be wrapped in packing paper and the result would be another terrific shoot. She's a natural. With that said, I'm not ignoring the photography ;-) Your portraits make her shine even more. Cheers, and my best wishes for a great 2025 to you both! //Rick
Anyone looking to get started in portrait photography should see this video. Utterly superb. You two make a great pair. Your 42 years of portrait photography shining through as usual.
Shadows on the backdrop at the 2m 25s mark. Why would someone find shadows on the backdrop objectionable? Maybe if you are going for "catalog white." But the shadows provide some depth so it doesn't look like the model is a cut-out or floating in space.
We started many years ago when the salon needed a model for a billboard. I walked through the salon and saw her in one of the chairs getting her hair done. She was quiet and a little shy and not at all confident. When the salon heard I picked her for the billboard they all thought I was nuts. And here we are today. 😂😂
I've followed your work for a long time. Just curious, several of your shots show the left foot forward with a wide angle lens showing exaggerated foreshortening. Honestly, how imporatant is exaggerated foreshortening to you?

Just have one Sony flash for when you absolutely need TTL. Godox is fine when shooting in manual mode.
"She's amazing".
I second that opinion. Another great video
Thank you
looks nice and easy and yes one should not get carried away by ones equipment :) simple and great
Exactly!

I really hope she doesn’t read this! Because you can bet your ass she will be bringing in packing paper
@@kaskoPhoto Apologies. :-) I hope she'll pick one that's not too reflective!

Thank you so much. Just made my morning.
Just got an AD-200pro. Perfect timing for a shoot using that light. Might be a while before I can get the extension peripheral, thought.
It’s a really nice addition.
First, Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!

Agreed. Kind of cookie cutter blah without it
Today's model is quite the contortionist! i'll bet it was no problem getting her to "come out of her shell" :-)

@@kaskoPhoto Well, John, you're one helluva shell exiting coach! Bravo!
❤
Thank
You
Never know when She may give You a WINNER POSE,, something Very Special,,, Be Glad SHE IS A WINNER !!!!!!!! :) :) :)
Did you use this Ad-200 just for this video, or is it a normal use for you? What light would you normally use?
Great video, your flash is one stop overexposed.
Good to know! After 42 years as a professional photographer I finally know what was wrong all these years. 😂😂
Overexposed according to what? Are you expecting him to be taking scientific readings here?
(In photography, different styles exist)
Did you have to edit the background where the top meats the bottom. It looks like there must be a shadow
Yes, I took out the seam. I used a separate sheet of white on the floor vs a full pull on the paper.

It adds an interesting element to the composition. But its not of major importance
