Thx for that fast respond, seems TH-cam took it off, it is in times like "that" I wish I'd be the real V, and have a little visit to that school, if you catch my drift.
I just stumbled over your channel 2 days ago as I was looking for someone explaining on dummy proof level how to combine bass chords, the five finger Technik is a nice extra, me, as I see many others just resently picked up the accordion after 30+years thx to the Internet you see so much more of what you can do, I especially like gypsy jazz on accordion, you seem to know all about that bass😁

Thank you, LorolanzV for your interest in my ideas. I'm 66 now, and I rarely meet anyone who thinks as I do. After my first wife died, in 1981 (she was 27), my mind began to work differently. I started to see things that others seemed to not see; and I started to hear things that others seemed to not hear. As such, I simply want to pass on "a good idea or two" before I die. I wish to somehow make a contribution to our now "global" musical society. I hope I can do that. Wish me luck. And, again, thanks for caring! Joey D.

Well, wishing you luck, I'm shure it will help a lot of people, anyone who wants to learn about these things is bount to stumble over your channel like I did, a shame you don't see yourself as a performer you play great, if I can learn to play like you do I'd be more than happy and probably perform. Salute.

ERROR ALERT: At 9:42, I spoke INCORRECTLY: I should have
said "A DOMINANT seventh," NOT "A diminished seventh."
    Sorry about that!

After trying a couple other tutorials on TH-cam, it seems like yours make the most sense in my head. My 120 bass accordion arrives tomorrow and I haven’t played anything but an 8 bass in like 8 years, we’ll see how it goes haha

Thanks for watching! Take your time in learning the 120-bass; there's no hurry. Remember: A job well begun is half done.

Fantastic video!! I'm coming back to the accordion after 40+ years and this is great. I learned basses with middle and index finger, etc, and the 'normal' fingering would be quite difficult for this tune with the extensive and rapid jumps. I learned so much from watching and listening and ordered your book from Amazon. Hopefully, it'll provide more combination for chords I was completely unaware of. More videos on basses--chords, runs, etc. Thank you!

Thank you, Walter. I went 38 years without an accordion. Then, in 2011, I bought the one that you see in the video. It's an old Atlas--older than I am! As long as I can lift it, I will try my best to pass on some helpful hints.

I just made it to 64.a few days ago. But my son just left us at age 41, on May 2, 2019. Gotta keep playing music.

      Hi Patty,
I am truly sorry for your loss. Oddly enough, just a few days ago, I was thinking about you, hoping you are well. My son is 40, but has been plagued with health issues. But still, we abide. Jesus said, "the kingdom of heaven is at hand." And this is a great gift, for no matter where you move your hand--up, down, away, behind your back--it's just not that far away. It's always within reach.
      Sincerely,
      Joey D.

scalephrase Thank you Joey. I think of you like a friend. And seeing your notifications was meaningful, like a nudge. Yes, Ben got a stomach ache Jan 1st and by the end of January, he was on morphine with cancer. The Lord healed him a few times but just to let us know he cares. It was his plan to take him. I couldn’t watch any videos for a while. It is great to begin watching you again. The Lord brought me and my daughter in law to a great church in Lowell Mass that happens to have all African Americans. I don’t know their cords! They have great music. It sends us into heavenly places. But I love your brilliant music even more.

And yes, he is in the Sky now, profoundly absent from this world, but safe in the arms of Jesus. I am heavenly minded now. We will join him one day for an endless Happy Day!

thanks for posting this, my acc teacher taught us to use all 5 fingers on the f clef, he also had the same box you have--ATLAS.. full size 19/14 inch keyboard, would always ask him to sale me that atlas but he would not do it.

This is great stuff! I love accordion but i don't have any access to a teacher (that i'm aware of)
that being said my stradella only has major and minor chords. so i'm unable to take advantage of this as of now.

    Great tutorial
But your five finger system confuses me a lot
I thought that thumb is useless and that you play C with 4th finger, CM with 3rd finger, Cm with 2nd finger and 7th row with 1st finger and # row with 5th finger (I think its called pinky in english, realy dont know english names for fingers :) )
I mean, I dont want to learn something the wrong way, so what system is better now?
Can you maybe show chords in both systems so I could see what is better?
Hope you are alive and doing well

Thank you for watching! You can learn how to play chords "the regular way" by watching almost everyone else's videos. I'm reasonably sure that I'm one of the VERY few people who play with the "pinkie" and "thumb." Experiment: PLAY the regular way, then play MY way. Over time, you will determine which way best suits your hand. Only YOU can decide which is best for you. Again, thanks!

I know. The only reason I started making these accordion videos was because both of my grandfathers died young (54 & 63). I truly wasn't sure I'd make it to 64 (which I did, three weeks ago), so I decided to toss these ideas out quickly, just to be sure they don't get buried with me.

Alles sicher toll, 🤗 wenn jeder die englische Sprache beherrschen würde!
Für mich wäre es in Deutsch verständlicher. 😉
