I absolutely love this deck. I didn't really think a deck this RWS-based was really what I was looking for but when I saw it, I fell for it right away. I've found that it gives great clear readings and appreciate so much how much work went into it -- the book is quite good as well, lots on the seasonal associations, and rules for a game.
Thanks for this walkthrough and your thoughts on this deck! I am on the verge... Regarding the chariot card, which is also my birth card, I wonder whether the single horse together with the rider's ability to take aim as she does points more to one-pointedness and non-duality where the wild horses of the mind (being thoughts) have been trained and tamed and there is therefore no separation of horse and rider or anything else for that matter. I'd be interested to hear what you think of this Brian.
Oh, I *love* that interpretation Narayani! That would fit well with the strange configuration of the chariot itself in the RWS deck - since it looks so solid and immovable, like a stone block, yet is clearly designed for transport. Stillness in motion... and motion in stillness! 🙏
I love how you have developed that idea Brian! Yes, the singular mindset of the charioteer makes movement possible from stillness - rather like the yoga pose, virabhadrasana 2 (warrior 2) that brings the mind to stillness while focusing on a distant target thus making movement possible. So too the sphinxes have that steady gaze, enabling the charioteer to go forth with great singularity of purpose.
"someone pretending to be the magician" haha! Imagine if we all dressed up and "pretended" to be a card in our daily lives.... Only tarot folk might clock it!
I believe there was a tarot conference a few years ago where they had a fancy dress disco where everyone came dressed as tarot cards. How much fun would that be?!
Beautiful!

Great cats are named alike! 😺
Lucky duck. I want that deck! It’s so cool!
