This song I have strongly identified with since the first time I heard it. He is signing my life and my heart but something is different. I'm not an addict in any traditional way at the moment. I was a smoker up until 6 years ago. There were a few years in my 20's where I drank to much but I was able to see what I was doing to myself and stop. These are not the things I really heart feel about this song. The thing is we can become addicted to pretty much anything. From drugs to feelings. For me it was always the feeling of being different, a misfit, lost and alone...I worked hard and developed many talents in order for people to see that I had value. I've lost count of how many new towns and new starts I've had. You see from the time I was small there was someone important in my life that would tell me things like no man could ever love me. Your to smart for your own good. It's not a good quality in a women. I knew that I could not settle for people who thought that way. The thing is when you come out of a toxic environment it takes time to get your head screwed on straight and become well adjusted. It can take an entire lifetime. When you get there other folks who have done the work are there with open arms. They just can't let you in until they know you are save for them to be around. That is totally fair. I think this feeling of not belonging is at the root of all addictions. I think that is where I connected with this song. By the way if you have not seen Colin's vid you should watch it. The love he was changing for was not a romantic love. The love that was his motivation was his son. Loved it.

So I heard this video come out on my phone, but as a blind person, typing on my phone by itself is almost impossible. So the worst thing IN THE WORLD was that I didn't have internet set up for a week or so as I was moving into a new place, so I BADLY hope you'll hear this because most people never see later comments which I think is the most unfair thing ever! I mean, a lot of my favorite artists just plain ignore later comments and it makes other people want to just unsubscribe because they haven't been heard at all. But yeah.
