In the program, the singers compete from each other. TV viewers can enjoy the race. Now many Japanese people love to use the Evaluation function of Karaoke Machine when they go to Karaoke. So, what you were watching at the lower portion of the monitor was the real-time evaluations done by Karaoke Machine. You should be able to find the number 83.093 at the left upper hand corner. This is the average point of all evaluated singers used evaluation function when they sang at Karaoke shops which were operated by same company around Japan. Also, you should be able to find the caption/subtitle at the upper right hand corner "Sakai Noriko - the First Time Challenge of Karaoke Evaluation" in Japanese.

この曲を歌っている時の彼女は最高に魅力的でしたので、恋をするのは不思議ではありません。
女性である私でも当時は彼女を抱きしめて守ってあげたいという気持ちになりました。
