When we moved to our new house and were keeping him locked in the house to acclimatise, he escaped out of a window and ended up 130 miles away back in our old house. They can certainly do it.
I removed a stray cat from my neighbourhood once and dropped it like 20 miles away and it came back after a few weeks so this was actually believable to me. 100 miles though... I wonder how long it took for the cat to come back. They should have asked him that. A few months may be??
I used to have a ginger tom, he was evil. He used to hide under cars and leap out to attack the neighbourhood dogs. We had to remove the catflap because he would bring in animals to "play" with including a pheasant, a rabbit and a seagull. One day we got a complaint from a woman who lived about 10 miles away that our cat was breaking into her kitchen, beating up her two siamese and eating their food. We had him neutered to try to curb his jaunts but it didn't stop him. When we moved to the north of Scotland he came back one day all torn to shreds, it took him days to recover. When he went back out he was gone for a couple of days, we thought the worse but the farmer said he had seen him chasing rats on the farm and when he did return it was with half a weasel in his jaws. The whole family was terrified of him. He died of kidney failure at the age of 16. RIP Fleabag

One of my favourite clips , Richard Osman and Dianne Morgan ( Philomena Cunk )on David's team .Rory is a nice lad ,a former Top Gear presenter and I could see him being concerned about Mark Dennis it brings back memories of the feral cats that lived in the docks for generations , they were fiercely independent , and did exactly what they wanted turning up after months of roaming .I believed this from the start . Well done Jodi .
Hi David. So is it their extraordinary sense of smell that enables this? I know of a dog who had never been to the Owners' new home until the day they moved 10 miles away, who,on the first evening there, made its way back to their own home:)
@IsleofSkye Their sense of smell might help , but the big old males used to move around and had big territories . If a ship left they might move on for food or to find a lady friend perhaps . I know they were untamable ( several people tried ) but we're happy to play the domestic if it suited them . Fascinating over the years , sadly they were cleared out in the 1990s . I'd take the hundred miles with a pinch of salt but that's what they told Rory and I definitely think it's possible .
Great reaction! The car story is surprisingly funny, entertaining & well-presented. I am not aware of any other funny clips with Rory Reid. Still, I am delighted to tell you about the lady in the red top, Dianne Morgan as *Philomena Cunk* and I suggest *Best Bits* & *On America* but there are many more hilarious video clips of Philomena Cunk on TH-cam.
This cat is a British cat, an island cat ! a hundred miles is nothing, the Lord Mayor of London Dick Whitington had a cat that walked all the way to London with him Puss was his name sponsored by a large well known pharmacy chain.
So, not only did it escape the cat sanctuary it then walked 100 miles back to where it came from. More likely they drove 20 miles and then just let it go.
My Dad used to tell me of the cat he had in his 20s who used to go out beating up all the other cats in the neighbourhood. He had one eye and was called Nelson. One day he left and never came back, until 5 years later, my Dad had started seeing my mother. One day they were in the living room and Nelson strolled in. He looked around the room in a 'oh yeah, I used to live here' way, threw up on the carpet, turned around and left. He was never seen again.....
Of dark cats. Dave Allen tells a joke about the Pope arguing with an atheist. He gets frustrated and says to the atheist, "You are like a blind man, in a dark cellar, looking for a black cat, that does not, in fact exist ". To which the atheist replies, "You too are like a blind man, in a dark cellar, looking for a black cat that does not, in fact, exist. The difference is, you found it".
My dad had a cat that would spend most of its time outside. In the 20 years he had it he moved house twice, and each time the cat found the new house without having to take the cat there. It was only 10 or so miles each time, but it's still fascinating.
@@SiobhanHfuhruhurr-qe1ul They had to go back and forth over multiple days to move all the furniture and such. The cat made its way there on its own accord.
It sounds like a flawed and also security risk cat-flap if it opens on loss of power rather than closing. It spends most if it's time closed why energise the lock to close it, surely you energise to open it (pull the catch back).
I knew that was true not because of all the detail but cats can travel a hundred miles back to were they want to be, I do not know the whys.... do they follow the sun and the moon? but they can do it
I think every Brit knew it was true. American cats are very strange and kept under a disturbing amount of control. British cats have their freedom protected by law and live their own lives.
Love the show when it's not a professional comedian telling stories . Nick & Jodie Try having an answer, true or false piece of paper, ready to turn over, and then your answer is more real instead of opposite of each other , All the Time
I love the Show but I realized something many Series ago along those lines and, so,if I picked up on something that, virtually, gave me the right answer then David and Lee would, also, have noticed that but , imo, they are playing the game and it's a bit of "Show Biz".
Let's face it, Jodi is much better than Nick at this game. Okay Nick did get lucky a few times recently, but i've been following you guys for a couple of years, i know Jodi guesses right far more often than Nick lol
Nothing in that story sounded false to me. If you know cats, you know that they can do stuff like that. I had a cat once who disappeared and was found at least 100 km from our house. And one of my grandma's cats was gone for two years one time and then suddenly came back like nothing had happened.
I think rspca just released him in the same spot and when Rory called they just said "who? That black cat? Oh yeah sure we took him away in fact we took him 100 miles away. We took him so far away you wouldn't believe".
Nah, they took him a hundred miles away. He found another mug with a cat flap, who then contacted the RSPCA. They agreed to relocate him a hundred miles away...
That sucks; but it is not in Ytubers hands. It used to drive me mad when ads appeared every 4 mins on popular vlogs! I bought Premium (ad free) & slashed all my other subs on telly, Netflix, sky etc, all of which only really provided me with 1 or 2 progs a month.

When he started tearing up is when I started leaning true when seeing this for the first time.
It's pretty rare to be false when they provide so much detail I think.
Nick Nick Nick... in tents

Nice one Jodi. Nick I'm sorry but you were so sure, you've had me in tears with this one.

I think we need a Cunk on Cats episode.
Need more Dianne Morgan!! 😂
It helps when they have a collar with a built in compass, that's how Lassie always managed to find her way home.

Lots of stories like that. There was a cat that once wiped out an entire remote islands bird population single handedly 😂
One of my favourites. Glad you reviewed it 👍🏻
Another WILTY for you is Tomasz Schafernaker and the baby sheep.
Mark Dennis sounds like a real character, I'd like having him around 😼
Surely you’ve seen Homeward bound❤

Could have been Timpsons or Clarks!
Puss in Timothy Whites
As soon as he came up with Mark Dennis I knew it was true.
So, not only did it escape the cat sanctuary it then walked 100 miles back to where it came from. More likely they drove 20 miles and then just let it go.
You underestimate cats, Nick. In 2006, a cat disappeared in Colorado; five years later she was found in New York.
Cat was a big Proclaimers fan
I have seen cats like that lol
'royally f-ed off here' is the correct answer 😆
I don't arf love you both xxc

The RSPCA definitely lied! They opened the back door and let moggy out!!
I went to the doctor and said I felt like wigwam and a teepee. He said I was two tents.
Iv Heard countless true stories of cats heading back to old territories, when owner's move house 🏴✌️

There used to be a footballer called Mark Dennis who had a reputation as being a bit of a thug. Must be in the name.
I went true -If he'd made up Mark Dennis on the spot he'd deserve the win anyway.

Why did he leave the cat to find its own way...

Non feral cat would voluntarily enter a habited house repeatedly. It is a stray cat, not feral.
Animals migrate way more than 100 miles.
The RSPCA def didn’t drop cat off 100miles away but prob told him they did
I think it is true from his point of view but the vet probably released the cat within a few miles and claimed 100 miles.
Mark Dennis was also a very nasty footballer. Sent off many times whilst playing for Queens Park Rangers

Have you guys ever reacted to Philomena Cunk?
Not when she appears on this show. In her own program?
Maybe he was mislead and the cat wasn’t released 100 miles away.
Brill 🤣
Please can you react to some Joe Lycett wilty stories?🙏
