Do you chemical strip or sand most of your pieces before painting? I thought your prep work was usually just a cleaning with White Lightening?? What determines if you need to strip or sand vs. just a good cleaning? Love your pieces!
I agree with your sadness over the quality of paint strippers. They have become so expensive and so ineffective and a complete waste of money. I just use a heat gun now, which you have to use carefully but at least the paint actually bubbles up and you can remove it. I have an used can of stripper in my workshop that just makes me made to look at. I tried to return it, but the store said no. sigh
Questions? Can I paint over a chalked and waxed piece without stripping it? Can I paint over it with any chalk paint or does it have to be a certain type of chalk paint? And I didnt like the last time I had waxed apiece of furniture, it had a build up on it and I like a smooth finish. Can I use something else to seal it and keep it from a build up?
What colour were you applying after the first midnight colour? You seemed to be putting 2 more colours on the leg but didn't say what colours you were adding. As well, what was the light colour you added to the front. You also didn't say but rather, talked about music. confusing.
The beegees songs all sound the same & there music puts me to sleep. There Harmony is good, but still just all the same old same. Oops I didn't say that out loud did I. Born in 56 a flower child hippy of the 70's grown up, so that was my jam. Charlie Pride is the greatest black first country star ever! Me & Bobbie megee is even older & not my favorite jam. I like lots if different music still. Post Malone has some good stuff. He should just left out the rap. He's way more talented & has a great voice, he should went with that. But I guess it wouldn't have went with his personality or Tattoos..
It would be much easier to follow your videos if you stuck to the topic of paint. Too much banter between you and your husband. You skip in the banter..

Wax is a resist, particularly if it's an oil based wax. I recommend removing the wax with mineral spirits, cleaning well, the re-paint
