It looks very interesting. I don't mind some grind to be honest. It's sad that this game is really designed around co-op missions. I am no lover of co-op or on-line gaming. I am purely a single player gamer, so I do not have the feeling this game is for me. The Steam page indicates it's playable as a single player, but I have my strong doubts. It's a shame that this review only focuses on the co-op part of the game, so I have no idea or indication if it playable as a single player. As a result this review is not very usable for me. Maybe an idea to not forget about single players next time?
Fatal Bullet is the only SAO I've ever beaten. It was very fun. So I'm glad Bandai Namco stopped giving the SAO projects to Aquria and gave it back to Dimps.
FD is looking to be very amazing but this was in development at the same time as Aquria's so there's a good chance the next SAO game will be theirs, I just hope they took feedback from LR lmao
FR for me only fatal bullet the most GOOD GAME of SAO series, they were right when they said they only good to make a series or movie, but they are bad to make a game... Lycoris and Recollection for me was the same game with the same gameplay, same visual, graphic and else... nothing different, only the story, but they make the price so expensive for a shitty game.. funny is? i still buy it wtf, but in here bandai was only publish this game, they change the dev for this one that's why the visual was WAY more better, and the gameplay was way more smooth.. i have hope on this and yeah the range character gameplay was surely fatal bullet for me XD I LOVE IT! in here we can play shinon, not only her... LLENN! the most canon character that the fans really love.. i dont have a regret buying the PO for this... it's worth it for me, and this thing was WAY more cheaper btw
Let be real here, before this game, Aquria has always been the one that give their all the most in their SAO games, even within the limitation and budget of Bandai Namco side. Fatal Bullet has lackluster story and bad silent protagonist, with the gameplay just didn't redeemed these flaws at all. I can see there's strong technical polishing this game has compare Fatal Bullet, but unless they consistently delivered quality story mode, Dimp won't surpassed Aquria's effort anytime soon.
Same bro. Fatal Bullet (while I still keep stopping before finishing) is by far the best SAO game out there honestly. Puts all the recent ones to absolute shame. I might actually buy this one, especially since 20 player co-op sounds amazing.
It has crossplay with all the consoles, PC, Switch, PS5 and Xbox. That makes it much, much better as it ensure a healthy community even if the playerbase drops hard on one platform.
Because this is the first online SAO game, I think it might divide the player base who enjoys the single player story. I’m up for whatever, but I’m curious how they’ve implemented this in the game. - Azario
@@NoisyPixelNewsshouldn't divide people for that reason there's still a full single player game that you need to play to unlock the characters and I don't doubt the dlc will probably include single player episodes for the new characters so there's enough for both single player and multiplayer
The game doesn't seem to have a real progression system other than higher ranked weapons and accessories. All characters have the same 3 skills, one unique skill and one ultimate. It's very much like a co-op Overwatch type game.

The problem is not the grind, the problem is how janky and clunky the game feels at times. People will get used to most of the awkwardness as they play more but the fact that the gameplay is a downgrade from FB is crazy to me considering it's the same team. Still excited to play it though, a good grindy slop every now and then is nice
The animation lock took me out completely. I was shooting guns into the air most of the time because the boss/monsters kept moving out of the way… I don’t know how much they’ll get fixed on 1.5 weeks but I guess we’ll see
Lycoris was honestly a good game last recollection cut out so much that it was a barebone version of lycoris the only reason to play it is to get what is one of my top ending credits since it gives most everyone a happy ending from the whole series and even hints at strea and yui still worrying over persona vabel
@@steelframer i played them all day 1 so yes i know all about the buggy mess it was but not only where all those fixed in patches release pretty consistently but also until the end of its run it received so many great updates if it was enough to make you dropped it fine but acting like the state of the current game isn't great when they have done so much is just closing your eyes and choosing to stay blind again comparing lycoris and last recollection the latter was just a glorified dlc that removed core mechanics for no reason making multiplayer only dungeon based rather than open world like lycoris. the dlc was locked inside 2 dungeons that you had to run 16 times minimum to finish each more if you wanted the special weapon dropped within them. again alicization was a great game obviously it's not ranking number 1 but it's not going to be bottom of the list. Like I said the only reason to even finish last recollection is for that ending cutscene it's the only thing they did right giving everyone a happy ending telling us what the future has for them as well as acknowledging sao vs accel world was the only reason I found it to even be worth it obviously you can just look it up
Fatal bullet targeting system was far better than what we've gotten in FD for both guns and swords. The gameplay is fun but FD really feels like fatal bullet lite. I like the overall premise of the idea of FD but felt it missed the mark *slightly*. Another issue i had was in the open beta players were rushing the coop quests and killing the boss super fast like we didnt have 25+ minutes. I had never seen golden chest drops before and our groups past them up to kill the boss asap. Ik you get a bonus for fast completion but it wouldve been more fun to kill the boss guarding those gold chests and get their loot. Even still, cant wait to play early access! Here's hoping they change up the targeting system though, its really hard to use still....
I just want proper support characters with full support focused abilities. Leafa was very uninspiring to play, with a single support skill to be used. I really hope there's at least one support character with multiple skills for buffing and healing allies
A better pathway for the game that caters all fans would be to: 1. Allow players to create their character, and use it as an avatar, while selecting a Weapon from the characters. This caters players that want it, and is optional 2. Allow players to play as any character of the story (that's available), with the ability to use weapons from other characters. This will create an interesting combination. Maybe sell costumes for the fans too.
between every party allowing only one of each character, the shared loot in raids, and the incoming paid DLC characters, battle passes, and microtransactions, what was otherwise a great game to play in the demo feels like it's gonna become unpleasant down the line that the demo focused solely on the multiplayer over the singleplayer had me worried too. And this was the game I've been waiting for all year after GBF Relink I feel envious of everyone still excited for the game ( ; O A O)

Being a big fan of Hollow Realization and never playing Fatal Bullet, this game is a good change of pace being something different. I just wish they had character customisation of your own character rather than changing the outfits of characters that already exist. I also believe this game would be good for players who like a grind, not making it too easy - you just need to play the game for each characters progression
Aww because of the equipment than that will mean no Accel World characters. I liked that series more than the normal Sword art but i did read only the first series not the other ones. But i made an Oc for Accel World.
I learned through Fatal Bullet that SAO games are arpgs that I want to play but can’t lol The core gameplay was fun enough and got me wanting to grind for gear to hit enemies with those bigger numbers but I just did not like the social parts in between. The dating sims and forced interactions with the SAO crew were a drag for me and I couldn’t speed them fast enough to keep playing the parts I did like.
Finally another sao im not usually fond of multiplayer even for previous series most of them I spend 300+ hours and this is my 6th sao game while waiting for last recollection to hopefully drop in switch
I ended up just grinding out boss for levels it was a lot quicker than doing the Co-op mission don't know if it's going to be like that for full game but that's what I ended up doing, also if you can get MVP that's extra experience too. I had a blast with Asuna
There was waaaay too many pixels going ham on my screen as a mele character during the boss fights for me to want to play more. Holy crap the lights/colors. If i can disable other parties particle effects, id love that. Also can the switch even handle 4 people on screen?!? Let alone 20?! Aint no way it runs at 60fps. 10 at best. 😂😂😂
Believe it or not you only experience a small lag during the zoning area waiting for everyone to load in but once the game starts the lag seems non existent. We tried on a steam deck and laptop and both performed very well.
I'm a huge fan of the anime and movies, but I have never bought any of the games. I was on the fence with this one, but after seeing 2:25 and the raid bosses. I'm all in 😅

Despite that I got to play this beta enough to get a full set of legendary gear with desirable perks for my main (leafa) as well as agil,Argo,llenen & Oberon. & I’ve gotten plenty of other legendaries waiting to be dismantled as well. I haven’t scrapped em cuz I wasn’t sure if keeping items extended to our coal & upgrade materials. Anyway if anything I believe the grind is a bit too easy honestly,even for character levels you can just use xp gear,I was able to reach lv30 on leafa & fukizurioh & Oberon with our limited time.
SAO devs really think we wouldn't enjoy another game with our character and insists on making kirito the center of attention. The thing is, SAO has no reason to stick to kirito for as long as it has. That man's time has passed. He's happily married, and there are millions of MMO players. Find another schmuck to focus on. Better yet, let us make our own like in Fatal Bullet.
I found the online to be very novel and just "multiplayer" enough to play with others, but not force heavy coordination with strangers. My main problem with the game was how incredibly janky the game felt. Skills and attacks aim and track so poorly at times. I was constantly dumping magazines into the ground as LLENN while using her skills and gap closers could often times get you in worse positions than where you started (IF your class even has one.)
This actually looks good ngl, nver played an SAO game.. I always thought it was just a cash grab based on a popular IP (as per usual)… just worried about switch performance.
Oh… If this is ur first time giving it a shot then severely lower your expectations. Because I’m still on the camp that this might be a cash grab. There’s a couple of red flags about this game that don’t sit right with me. (Not the store though I mean if they plan on selling cosmetics that’s never an issue to me)

So... is this kinda like Granblue Relink? And then I am wondering... can you play Solo, or can you only play Online. Because while I own all the SAO games so far, because I bought them on sales. I never played one of them, but want to play them eventually. So Fractured Daydream is not a Game I want to buy on release, not until I've play some of the other SAO games. So... unless you can play this Game offline, in a good fashion without being over reliant on Online, I probably will never buy it, because by the Time I get around to play it, it probably will have barely any players left for online.
There is single player content where you can take on missions and customize your party. Also you can switch to other party members on the fly. This was only the online content.
The bad part is... In online play you can only play as 1 character, meaning: if theres one kirito in the party, you cant use it... Thats why you add a character creation or eliminate the character restriction
Hard disagree there will be more characters unlocked via story and if you only play kirito it forces you to try out either another class or another character in the same category each character has passive skills other characters can equip

I think the only ones that dont do that is fatal bullet and sao vs accel world if I remember correctly. Always the new female lead gaining fillings for kirito. Philia, strella, seven, rain, premiere, and I haven’t played lycoris but I wouldn’t doubt it’s in there also most if not all of them have a date mechanic that will give you a fan service esque screen shot
No character creator is decision I disagree with. The better option would have been to let everyone play with a created charactor, what happens if everyone is Kirito. Letting everyone create a character and base their moveset on a template would have made me care more, I downloaded it and didn't bother due to maintenance
I feel like this prolem could be smartly solved, by allowing us to customize the pre existing character much more deeper, essentialy turning them into our "own" character. For example allowing us to change the color of the outfits, change the haircut of the characters, being able to put on visible badges or capes on them and so on. Look up Warframes fashion to understand what i mean.

imo a b2p game like this is not worth the $35-$70 they are asking for, specially since there's tons of f2p games that do a better job at everything this game tries to do. And I didn´t have issues with the boss timer, I even played a match with only 1 team and 4 teams of bots and still won without the timer running out, easy but clunky game that gets boring after a while due to it being just a hack n slash fest with nothing else to offer.
They do the same thing but better but they’re not pulling in people like the sao game is also get friends or meet people via the game it’s a lot more fun with friends like any other online game is

Honestly pretty excited to get this one after dropping Alicyzation Lycoris and not even getting Last Recollection.

another big issue is FOMO - if you are late to the party, you may not find anyone to play with, or even worse, the online mode may get shutdown

nothing wrong with grind, so long it's fun and not like the endgame grind of granblue which was quite boring

I found the online to be very novel and just "multiplayer" enough to play with others, but not force heavy coordination with strangers.
My main problem with the game was how incredibly janky the game felt. Skills and attacks aim and track so poorly at times. I was constantly dumping magazines into the ground as LLENN while using her skills and gap closers could often times get you in worse positions than where you started (IF your class even has one.)
Grind is not the problem the cash shop might be tough.

This actually looks good ngl, nver played an SAO game.. I always thought it was just a cash grab based on a popular IP (as per usual)… just worried about switch performance.
Oh… If this is ur first time giving it a shot then severely lower your expectations. Because I’m still on the camp that this might be a cash grab. There’s a couple of red flags about this game that don’t sit right with me. (Not the store though I mean if they plan on selling cosmetics that’s never an issue to me)

Very floaty combat. Been waiting for a SAO game with some solid combat mechanics and this isn't it. Feels like a free 2 play online co-op game.

For this, I think it depended on which time you played. I think there were more bosses than what I played.

The Skull Reaper, the Kobold Lord and the Sword Golem

Because while I own all the SAO games so far, because I bought them on sales. I never played one of them, but want to play them eventually.
So Fractured Daydream is not a Game I want to buy on release, not until I've play some of the other SAO games.
So... unless you can play this Game offline, in a good fashion without being over reliant on Online, I probably will never buy it, because by the Time I get around to play it, it probably will have barely any players left for online.
There is single player content where you can take on missions and customize your party. Also you can switch to other party members on the fly. This was only the online content.

The bad part is... In online play you can only play as 1 character, meaning: if theres one kirito in the party, you cant use it...
Thats why you add a character creation or eliminate the character restriction
Hard disagree there will be more characters unlocked via story and if you only play kirito it forces you to try out either another class or another character in the same category each character has passive skills other characters can equip

Relink did it right and they can play what they want with others, doesn't matter if the party is made with 4 same characters.

I think the only ones that dont do that is fatal bullet and sao vs accel world if I remember correctly. Always the new female lead gaining fillings for kirito. Philia, strella, seven, rain, premiere, and I haven’t played lycoris but I wouldn’t doubt it’s in there also most if not all of them have a date mechanic that will give you a fan service esque screen shot
No character creator is decision I disagree with. The better option would have been to let everyone play with a created charactor, what happens if everyone is Kirito. Letting everyone create a character and base their moveset on a template would have made me care more, I downloaded it and didn't bother due to maintenance

I feel like this prolem could be smartly solved, by allowing us to customize the pre existing character much more deeper, essentialy turning them into our "own" character. For example allowing us to change the color of the outfits, change the haircut of the characters, being able to put on visible badges or capes on them and so on. Look up Warframes fashion to understand what i mean.
The characters can be chosen only once per party, you can't have 2,3 or 4 kiritos in one party before crying inform urself

imo a b2p game like this is not worth the $35-$70 they are asking for, specially since there's tons of f2p games that do a better job at everything this game tries to do. And I didn´t have issues with the boss timer, I even played a match with only 1 team and 4 teams of bots and still won without the timer running out, easy but clunky game that gets boring after a while due to it being just a hack n slash fest with nothing else to offer.

@@mondragonmsaul308 Runs very well on switch with almost no fps lag in general for the whole game in the beta test other than for loading into the waiting lobby waiting for match to start which ur not really doing anything in that lobby anyways so doesnt matter too much.
The grind is a part of the fun
