I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.
I love how you can make a TH-cam channel about anything. Me personally I don’t like fishing but he seems passionate about it and I can actually watch this keep it up :)

I feel for ya. I just added a 3 shimno rod and reel this week replacing old Shakespeare's. Snapped 2 of them so was down to 1 ultra light 2 mid weight a peir rod and surf rod. Amazon had reels on sale so grabbed a few and will wait for good sales to match them.
That last structure you pointed at was an outflow/overflow. Your inflow was the culvert you were fishing by originally. Plankton can have various shades, from green to rust colored. Also, when green plankton dies (which can happen in a couple of hours) it will often turn a rust color before dissapating. As well, pollen can be various shades of green/red/yellow and everything between. Keep up the great work!

Hey mike come to NC I know 1 good pond that doesn’t have many bass but they are big 5-6 pounds. I also know 2 pretty good lakes you should come and I can show you the pond and because it is my friends but I can tell you where the two lakes are
1:57 is the inflow of the pond. The pollen type looking algae is normal. Also in 12:20 that trash can looking pipe is the overflow. No pollution would come from their, it would most likely drain out.
I look for ponds dug out to make freeway overpasses on maps. At I80 & state rt 10, behind the Autorama Twin drive in movies, outside of Cleveland, is a pair of loaded large ponds. Packed with fish. Pristine water.

He could be scoping houses to burglarize and come back on another date. Then at least the police would have his name and possibly close out unsolved burglaries in the area. The orange film you see here is just another type of algae called euglena which usually has a red-brown or orange-brown appearance
