On the Digimon comment... it honestly depends. The franchise canonically exists in a connected multiverse each with their own origins and rules of reality with some characters able to traverse them. If you are strictly talking about the first anime series Digimon Adventure then yeah that's pretty accurate but for everything as a whole you have to go by a case by case basis and some worlds have them connected to actual mythology with some common threada like for example, God canonically exists.
