We're making a record that's gonna be hard to better for a lot of groups next year...and I know that...it's gonna be very, very good.....erm Always hones Guy! Great clip, thank you for posting
1991, they were in the creation process of Babe Rainbow, that was just fantastic! Chadwick plays the "bluest" tracks like "High In Your Face" and "Feel". When the came to my country, they never played a single track of that jewel of album. Anyways, Chadwick and Bickers are married again.
The Smiths had just split up when they started and They were touted as their replacement so Guy was definitely influenced by The Smiths. The biggest similarity i hear is Julian Cope. English bands were supberb back then so many great guitar bands. Siouxsie, magazine, Cure, Echo & The Bunnymen, House of love, The Las, Julien Cope, Chameleons, Modern English, New Order, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, The Passions, Public image, The damned, Motorhead, Hawkwind, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Inspiral Carpets, Duritti Column, TV personalities. The Cult, The Sound, Killing Joke. The meteors, New Model Army, The Pogues, These are just a few of the english ones i fondly remember.
What is he on about, guns and roses great but Primal scream naff? - Dear me...... Anyhow they wrote some good songs back in the day. Saw them in Leeds around 1988 I think ? supported by All about Eve. Fuck. The end of goths and start of dance, funny time in music that.
House of Love is such a great band but this kind of total pretension is so pompous and lame. English people seem to genuinely love bashing one another.
One of most electric and chaotic gigs back in 1989 at Hull Uni. Fucking love this band.

Exactly. As they say "the grass is always greener on the other side"..
He was dead right.. in the period he is on about. Sonic Flower Groove vs Appetite for Destruction ? I mean come on 🤣

Met the house of love at the gig they did at Scala a couple of nights ago. They are far better musicians than they are people.
🤣
I cannot believe that Guy slagged off The Pastels,The Valentine's and Primal Scream. That's totally racist.
Remember when British bands were literally great? What happened?
is that Bic looking unhealthy at the start?
If you meant Terry Bickers he was out of the band at that point.
Guy Chadwick was never known for his modesty.
Well when you're brilliant, you're brilliant..
blagva
Maybe cause it's a horrible look?
