Great way to make wonderful papers Shel , using stencils for rubbings is such a good idea..why didn't I think of that?? LOL
Love the bird tag, pretty color combo. : )
Thank you Ina :)
Oh that tag is GORGEOUS Shel❣️ You totally had me laughing as you were commenting on your actions on the video. Your Shhsh Shhsh Shhsh, noise evey time you would spray water was spot on! I do the same thing when I talk to friends. Sound effects make everything better in my opinion. Great video, all those yummy colors and rubbings are going to make for fun doodling bits for your art on the fly journal. 👍❣️💕😊
Thank you Anne :) I agree..sound effects are a great way to express yourself. I also make faces and fling my hands around when I talk LOL
WOW I love your tag...beautiful!!! Thanks for the inktense rubbing idea...I have some and I am getting them out to try this, before I forget. Thank YOU so much!!!!
Thank you Cheryl :) Have fun with your inktense!
Great idea....I did not use my inktense blocks so I gave to a Artist buddy .....now I may have to ungift them?... Was the paper you were using a gift bag weight?.......mraz
Thank you Arlene :) The brown paper was thinner then a paper sack from a grocery...so most likely similar to a gift bag. It worked well due to its absorbent qualities when I sprayed on the water to activate the ink.
Really neat, Shel. I’ve had Inktense pencils and blocks for about 3 years, and barely used them! I’ll have to give it a go......hmmm....wonder if it works with Gelatos? I’ll have to try that as well!
Thank you Lindy :) Yup..gelatos work too. I have all these and don't use them enough either!
Great idea that I had never thought of Shel 👍 with really effective results! It looks easy with the Inktense blocks (which I don’t have). I will give it a try with the pencils (which I have the whole set) 😊
Might be a bit more time consuming. Love your beautiful bird tag ♥️
Thank you Shirley :) Have fun!
😋. More painty paper ideas!! I’ve been making painty papers for several days. I just cannot help myself. Today I’ll be at it again today with this idea. I’ve gotten some “crusty bits” from my styrofoam pallet, too. Thanks for the inspiration.
Yum! Crusty bits are the best! Have fun Ann :)
Fabulous! I just ordered the Derwent Inktense Ink Blocks because of you via the link you provided. Do you know, or does anyone know if I also had to enter "shelcpaperoco-20" somewhere on my order for you to get credit for my purchase? Or just using the link you provided will automatically give you a credit? I would not have been aware of the Inktense products or the Posca pens, or some of the other products I've seen you use if it were not for you. BTW, your channel and projects are a part of a relaxing therapy I try to carve out for myself :) so thank you!!!
Thank you for watching and using my links :) The links I provide give me credit automatically so don't worry. Some people just wanted to make me a favorite on their amazon accounts so I offer my ID.
So very glad I watched this video. Never thought of stencil rubbings. Wow! Can’t wait to try it! Thanks so much!
Glad it was helpful Joan :)
Beautiful art work! How do you like the blocks? I’ve been so undecided due to reviews being so 50/50?! Are they worth it?
Thank you :) I like the blocks but for most people the pencils might be more useful. For this technique the blocks are the best.
Hi Shel! Just the project I need to do at camp. You craft everyday with me and now we're camping. Enjoyed your video!!
Have fun with it Mary :)
Great idea using the Inktense blocks with the stencils . The tag is really beautiful - loved the muted colours for something different . Thank you Shel . Awesome as usual . lol Kind regards - Judi - Australia
Thank you Judi :) I have noticed my colorways tend to change depending on seasons and also emotional temperature.
Great ideas. I love all colours too. Loved the bamboo and the black/white papers. Thanks, Shel.
Thank you Keryn :)
Great video. Never though to use stencils like this. I definitely plan to make some papers with this technique. Love the papers you made and the tag. Thanks .
Thank you Deb :)
Just watched this video and enjoyed the use of your inktense products! I recently bought only limited products since it is terribly expensive 🙈!
Glad it was helpful :)
Yeah, my Inktense pencils are languishing under a pile of other media. You've inspired me to dig them out and USE them. I really do love the colors and effects you can get with them. Love your tag.
Thank you Valerie :) Get those inktense brushed off and ready to party! LOL
I like the way you used your Inktense blocks over the stencils, very cool. I don't have the blocks, but I do have the pencils. Don't know if I can get a similar result, but I can give it a try.
Thank you Karen :) It will work but take a bit longer probably.
Thank you for sharing this. Your papers and your tag look fantastic! I
had just added inktense blocks to my wishlist this morning then saw your video. I love it when things like that happen.
Thank you Mary Ellen :) Have fun when you get those blocks!
I did lots of rubbings in New Orleans. Beautiful iron work....ornate manhole covers.
oh yessss... those rubbings are the best!
Love the idea of Inktense. Have always wanted some, but with limited funds they will have to wait. Like the range of papers you made and the tag is gorgeous.
Thank you Jackie :) I hear you on the limited funds. They are a good choice once you have saved up!
Great idea to use the stencils for rubbing and less mess. I'm going to try this because I love my Inktense. I have the blocks, some pencils and the new paint pans.
Have fun with it and thanks for watching Karen :)
What a great idea! I have both types of Inktense and don't have the time to paint detailed drawings with them. And yes, I started yawning, LOL!
Thank you Susan :) Oh yes, I probably made half the people yawn LOL
Very cool. Thanks for sharing Shel :-) Marion
Thank you Marion :)
I love inktense I have the pencils and the blocks. This is what I will be doing this evening, Thank you for sharing this way of using them.
Have fun playing this evening Tricia :)
Intense blocks and pencils are my favorites. Shel, thanks for sharing and having fun with us....you are a real gem.
Thank you Annie :)
Howdy Shel,
Hope you're holding up well & your family member is getting the care they need.
Loved all your papers, but as soon as you started the bamboo one I said that looks like bamboo ❣ lol
Your tag is just beautimus dahhhhhlin, and yep we know you can't help yourself when it comes to the illustration lines and God forbid you ever lose contact with the white posca pen❣
The world as you know it would change dramatically,,,, lol
Mucho hugzzzzzzz my friend 🦄🦄
Thank you Patty :) Oh no...no way am I taking my greedy little fingers off that white posca!

You are so welcome Brenda :) Have fun!

Thank you Maude :) Great idea! I saw so many beautiful iron works everywhere in Dublin when I was visiting. I have TONS of photos taken from tour bus tops LOL
@@ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio my son refused😁 but i will do this! When i get them i will send you some! I will get your address once i have them...yes i feel fortunate..love ireland
Great papers and love the tag! Thanks for sharing Shel! :)
Thanks so much Mona :)
Does the paper have to be acid free for longevity or does the ink and glue protect it?
Thanks for the question :) Since I use my papers for collage I do not obsess over the acid free idea like I did with scrapbooking. During the printing and collage process the papers and inks and paints are all sealed in between layers of medium. I use artist quality mediums that were designed for longevity (not PVA glue or Mod Podge) so I expect everything will be good quality and long lasting. As a final step..I spray seal my pieces with a UV protectant varnish spray to keep the colors bright... not art journal pages or tags or ATC...but pieces meant to hang on the wall.
What a great idea! I forget I have those intense pencils😂 where can I get that circle stencil?
Thank you Lori :) That stencil is stencilgirl 'circles circles' designed by traci bautista. Here is a link bit.ly/2BbYJiV
Great use and technique with inktense and stencils! Very nice!
Thank you Donna :)

Thank you Glenda :) Have fun!
Wow! Love this video...so many colors, so many tips...such beautiful results and...enthusiasm. ♥️
Thank you Daisy :)
Great idea to use your stencils as a tool for a rubbing.
Thank you Karen :)
So inspiring! ❤️😊👍 Suddenly I feel the need to get my stencil stash out. Thank you! 😊 The backgrounds looks great. Perfect for a lot of mixed media projects.
Really love the stencils. Too bad I can't buy them seperately since the monthly Stencil Girl Club will be too expensive here in Sweden with added currency exchanges, additional custom charges and VAT etc.
Thank you for watching :) Yes, the club and really all 'american made' art stuff is expensive elsewhere. Stencilgirl really has awesome stencils...but I bet there are some european companies making great ones that I don't know about!
Had to rewatch!!! Love this one!!!
Thank you Sue :) I have used some of these papers recently and they were a treat!
Lovely! I'm new to tags. How are they used?
Altered tags are a form of small art. They fit perfectly in a business size envelope and so can be used like a card. They make great bookmarks. You can add a button magnet to them for fridge magnets. Also, you can add them to art journals or junk journals. Basically anything you would do with small art like cards or artist trading cards.
@@ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio thank you! Love that you took time to answer.
Bird tag came out lovely!
Thank you Karla :)
Awesome work! I love 💗 your style!
Thanks so much :)
I never thought of using my stencils like that!!! Awesome technique! My parents have a pair of rubbings from an old church, a lord and lady, they did them in the 1960's :) They're about 4 ft tall! Thanks for reminding me and sharing
Oh how cool! My Aunt had made a couple large rubbings like that on some trip they took when I was a kid. They were on black paper with some sort of gold pastel or wax crayon. She had them framed. Too bad I don't know the whole story behind them.
P.S. love the tag; love the color choices!
Thank you Evelyn :)
Your are art work is incredible.
Thanks so much Lorie :)
Fun to watch as always. Thanks Shel!
Thank you Debbie :)
Absolutely brilliant!!! Love your art - Thank you so much for sharing - I’m off to play with sticks and pencils now!! Jen ❤️
Thank you Jen :) Have fun!
I will do this. Great idea, tutorial.
Have fun Norma Jean :)
Great use of stencils !!
Thank you so much Yvonne :)
You said "art on THE fly" and I heard " art on A fly". There's an art journal page waiting to happen!! LOL.
Oh my...putting art on a fly would be tricky LOL Thanks for watching Patty :)
Totally have to dig out my Inktense blocks now! Thank you for some great inspiration! 👩🎨
Have fun playing with the inktense Alva :)
You made awesome papers and I really like the tag, Shel! I have that big set of Inktense pencils but I've never thought to activate them with a spray bottle, I've always used a brush. I love the pencils, they are so vibrant and permanent. Tfs, Fia xx
Thank you Fia :) Those pencils are really great for watercoloring too.
Love this technique of stencil rubbing! All the papers you made are great...and the tag too...
Thank you Marie :)
Another good idea for my inktense blocks, and such a quick result. Great video Shel, thank you!
Thank you for watching Mieke :)
Thanks for reminding me about my Intense Blocks, really enjoyed your video.
Thank you Cheryl :) Get them out and dust them off!
Very enjoyable Shel💗

Thank you Susan :)
lovely tag tfs
Thank you Bea :)
Gorgeous !!!
Thank you Marina :)
Thank you
I am glad you enjoyed the video :)
You are amazing! I hope your loved one receives the care they need.
I tried my first 2 stencilgirl stencils and I am hooked. I will be joining the club this summer. I have 20 stencils waiting in my cart. Unfortunately they will be waiting for a few months, but I go back to the cart and admire them.
Thank you Jesse :) Oh yes, there are sooooo many stencils I would love to have from stencilgirl. I am obsessed LOL. They do have an awesome sale in January if you can wait!
@@ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio I was planning on doing the stencil club in June and using the 20% off coupon on $200 worth of dtencils. Now I am curious about January. I have a very limited amount of stencils. The reccolections ones that come with stamps are fun, but people like you have me hooked on organic shapes. My cart is up to 27.
I greatly enjoy watching your videos. I was SHOCKED when my mxed media Valentine's were highly complimented at church. The white posca pen made a big difference.
Hi Jesse :) I think by January's sale you might have a new list of stencils LOL
@@ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio You are right! I may pull back on the order, and hold off on part of it.
I am not an artist. My drawing skills are non existent. I watched Carolyn Dube use a black stabilo pencil on her women with attitude(?) Stencil, and I thought I could do that. One of my best friends is moving this summer. She is a third of my weekly craft group. I think that Carolyn Dube's finding your tribe stencil would work perfectly on a gift.
I'm weird. I don't shop for a while, and then I place a large order. I don't do a lot of little purchases.
@@jesseb5112 Both those stencils sound perfect! You are not weird at all. I hardly shop at all...mostly on Amazon. I don't 'go shopping' unless I have to. And I wait and wait to decide if it is really something I need before I buy it.
How relaxing to make painted papers. Great idea! Thanks!
It is so relaxing to get some paper all pretty with colors!
Cool!
Thank you Peg :)
Love this, makes me ready to get out my Inktense, thanks.
Thank you Lisa :) Have fun with your inktense!
Love the papers you make, looks so easy, great tag also Thank you Chel !
I am glad you liked it :)
Love the idea of making running a with the inktense blocks!
They are a really fun tool for sure :) Thanks for watching Kim.
Awesome so creative I'm inspired...i love your videos
Thank you Ladi :) have fun with your inktense!
