This is the most underrated channel on TH-cam. Only quality content, speaking chill and calmly, directly on the point and taste, taste, taste. Deserves much more attention.
I've also shifted to shooting primarily at night. It's less overwhelming for me imo and light is just more interesting in the evening. It's moody, cinematic, and the colors are just interesting!
Excelllent video - agree about night time, artificially lit areas being great for artistic images. I also liked your tips about safety etc...very important and often overlooked by other youtubers.
I’ve heard of street photography, and this was a great example of it, but I’ve never heard of, shall we call it, Street Videography? This was a great example of that, as well! Inspiring! Bravo!
Great video! I've shot at night a bit but nowhere near often enough! Soho and Chinatown look so good at night too, definitely want to do a night shoot there! Brilliant tips! 👌
Great video. And great cameo/Easter egg. I've been shooting street for several years now. Mainly sub'd to you for your lens reviews and photowalks as I'm rebuilding my streetkit. Had to sell my Leica Q2. Returned to the X-Pro 1 recently & the 16mm to replicate the Leica Q series I became familiar with. This free episode could easily be on skillshare or a paid platform. Cheers!
Great video! Thank you for an inspiring tutorial. Please do more tutorial in the future. 😀I'm excited to try out night street photography with my XT-5. Cheers!
Even thank you for this video. Haven’t gone on the street at night. Yet. I will be retiring in a month or so. I work nights so I sleep prior to going to work. On my one night off I enjoy sleeping in the dark. All this is soon to change. I live in a near ghost town. Seattle is scary at night. Very few people, as in approaching zero, on the street after sunset. I suppose I will have to locate venues like night clubs. Outside of buses, there are virtually no cars on the street. Seattle is no London or New York. Thank you for the underexpose tip. That would have taken me a long time, if ever to figure out on my own. You showed this in the vid but never talked about it. Taking short video clips works very well at night. Having IBIS on a body like the XT4 could be very helpful at night. The one thing Seattle has in abundance is rain. We sometimes have atmospheric rivers. Dangerous but interesting is photography while driving. I turn off the windshield wiper and accumulate droplets on the windshield. I get some pretty images. I do this at traffic light stops or on the highway when there is a significant distance between the driver in front of me and there is a patch of straight road. Maybe having a driver and my sitting in the front seat may be a safer alternative. Protective gear for my camera and feet seem especially important. Bodies like the XP2 aren’t water resistant. That suggests keeping the camera under my jacket or in a large plastic bag. When my feet are cold and wet I am not happy. I can see the importance of having the proper foot gear when walking in the dark. Situational awareness I can see is an important element while being out at night. Being alone is not safe. Maybe finding a street photographer comrade may be a good idea. Thank you for this video. It was full of interesting images and good ideas. Definitely a thumbs up. Mask On Nurse Marty
Loved the video! The music at 3:27 i think was just a bit too loud. Thanks for all the tips, I really would love to visit London at night to take some pictures
Hey man. This is just amazing. Glad I stumbled across this channel. Question: Do you use any sort of noise reduction plugins for your videos? Because your low light footage looks very clean. Would be nice to see a video on your editing process for videos. Grading, noise reduction etc. keep the quality content coming.
This was great. Curious to know what you did for shooting video of it too. Did you keep your shutter speed 2x the video framerate? I'd love to be able to improve shooting video at night with limited resources like lights, etc.
Great video and love your clear and structured explanations? Any experience or thoughts on how the X-H2/X-T5 would perform differently in comparison to the sensor of the X-H2S?
Hi and thanks for sharing the great images and tips, you have a new subscriber. I'm going to try it with my X100F. Do you have any preference for metering, like spot, centre weighted, multi or whatever?
Hi Eren. I always watch your videos. Would you say it’s safe to walk around Chinatown and soho at night. I haven’t been to London for years. I’m from Sweden.
@@erenjam thanks. Love your photos at night. They are my inspiration. Tried some night photography in Chinatown in Bangkok last summer and where rather pleased.
This may sound like a stupid question, but do you ever get into trouble ? Like what if someone doesn't want you to take a picture of them, what happens when you actually get "noticed" ? what if someone asks you to delete your pictures ? i know it's not a very common scenario but have you ever stumbled on someone who was bothered by it all ? In other words what if the "subject" starts to get physical ?
@@erenjamOn the same note as the comment above: how about posting pictures of people with recognisable faces online, is that ok without consent? Thank you so much for your truly inspiring work! It really awakens my creativity:)
Do you find the ASPC sensor to be a significant issue when shooting a night, or do you find this is not a overwhelming problem in low light situations? In other words would you prefer to shoot at night with a FF camera?
Good tips! As far as keeping yourself safe. I couldn’t agree more. When I’m walking around Atlanta shooting at night, I carry a small bag to keep my gear in along with a Glock 43X in case someone gets any ideas
Man, I don’t know how you get away with iso set to 3200. I went out last night using my XH2 and 35 f/2. Had my iso set to 6400 with a minimum shutter speed of 1/125. Exposure compensation was -1. Even then, I found my camera overriding my minimum shutter speed. I had to raise my iso to to 12800 to get my shutter speed back up and freeze motion. 3200 max sound impossible. Feel like I’d have shutter speeds of 1/8 a second.
Depends a lot on where you are shooting at night, I choose pretty well let spots which allow me to capture at the 3200 range. TBH though, even at 6400 and above the fuji does pretty well

Thanks! I do night street photography because I work during the day. So far it's very challenging because I'm very used to day light.
If you're mostly shooting photos id just stick with the xpro
Great video :) Can't believe how long it took me to slightly underexpose at night to avoid the washed out look.
Huge thanks!
Very good advice and images here.
Thanks Mark!
Great work mate, gonna have to get myself down to London again soon, it's so good for night street photography!
Huge thanks Craig! 🙏🏼
Great stuff!!

Great video 📸! I love the night life 🌚look as well and find that it is easier than day time photography in many ways 🌞.
thank you!!!
Amazing video! Informative and beautiful visuals! What was this video shot on, out of interest? Keep up the great work!
Thank you! X-T5 and the X-T4
Just recently bought your Lightroom presets and I love them!
Is there a guide or preset for how to make videos look like yours, too?
Great video! Love it! Do you shoot with an Black Mist 1/4 filter? If yes, all the time? Or are there some particular situations? Thanks a lot!
Is that Faisal Westcott in your video? Your videos are great.
Yep, dropping in for a special appearance

will do! thank you
great video
Harika ipuçları için teşekkürler ;) 💯👍

Excellent video. I’m new to night time photography and interested to know how you use white balance creatively? Thanks
Do you use auto or set kelvin?
Thank you! I shoot RAW so I don't worry about the White balance while shooting. The rest is achieved while editing after
Even thank you for this video.

Awesome channel and video...
Thank you!
Awesome video as always…
Also, what type of photometry settings are you using during day and night?
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Multi almost all the time, centre weighed on occasions (shooting through windows etc)
Eren Have you tried new 56mm f1.2? How fast it’s auto focus compared 50mm f2?
Loved the video!
The music at 3:27 i think was just a bit too loud.

Depends, when shooting F-log I do in Davinci

yes on the shutter speed, will have an episode out on this soon
Great video and love your clear and structured explanations? Any experience or thoughts on how the X-H2/X-T5 would perform differently in comparison to the sensor of the X-H2S?
More detail in the 40MP sensors vs much more speed in the stacked sensor of the X-H2s.
awesome pics bro! what film sim do you use for your video b-roll at night?
Thanks Andrew! I shoot on F-log so no film sim is used
i’ve seen your work they’re incredible, would you mind sharing what film simulation you’re using while shooting with fujifilm?
Classic Crome but I shoot raw then edit with my presets in LR.
@@erenjam thank you

Huge thanks Derek! at night I switch between multi and spot, spot can work really well when shooting though windows etc
@@erenjam Thanks Eren I’ll give it a go this week in my local town and see how we go 📷
This may a June I go to Japan, im a new xt5 user, what lens your recommend for night street photography? by the way I love your work, thanks 🙌🏼
Yo all this footage taken with an f/2 lens? Your work is quite inspiring.
Yep these shots were with the f2 lenses
This is amazing, is there anyway I can get similar "film" look with a sony a7c `? for video
sure, I film in Log so the look is given in post, will be the same from an A7c
Hi Eren - Solid video. I assume your presets will work with Adobe Camera Raw, too?
Huge thanks Robert! Yeah works in ACR
Hi Eren. I always watch your videos. Would you say it’s safe to walk around Chinatown and soho at night. I haven’t been to London for years. I’m from Sweden.

@@erenjam 😎😁✌️
Wonderful video! I have a Fujifilm cinematic channel with a similar theme. Great ideas here
Thanks Pierre!
Are you using Film Simulation or post-production colouring, can you tell me the settings of fujifilm Film Simulation?
All the editing is done in post both for photos and video

Never had an altercation, can't really recall anybody asking to delete, but if they do, I'll just delete the photo.

are the video clips shot in fujifilm as well?
