I enjoyed this thorough introduction to this particularly informing aspect of linguistics and anthropology... I gained a new appreciation for Bush in his acquiescence to custom..lol.

It's really good, what about specialized role of anthropology?

Words only have “specific” on the context used. 🇹🇿 🙏❤️ 💪🏾

nice...i am a physician/ aviation med/ psychiatrist and MA medical anthropology in 2016. Always tring to catch up on other 3 core areas of anthro as med anthro is basically cultural. any suggestion in addition to your lectures? Bio isn't so bad s a physician as I note.

I’m an animal activist and I specialize in monkey abuse videos on social media. I have a BA in Anthropology. Many of the abused monkeys I see in social media are infants, stolen from their mothers when only a few days old. In extreme cases the poachers kill the mother and harvest the baby from her womb. My point here is that the babies all produce a little hoot call that I believe they use to call their monkey mother. It’s the saddest thing. All the babies do this, especially when they are alone and sad. These babies are all traumatised by their separation from their mother. I’m just wondering is it possible that baby macaques come hard wired to produce certain calls? The call to their mother could be important for infant survival.
