Dude the idea of setting half life 2 scenes in the background of mixes like this is so genius I am wondering how no one has thought of it before...Good job!
I don't think any game had such a profound impact on me like HL2. The story telling was excellent and the environment was absolutely immersive. It really felt like a place that could exist in real life.
Geez this game is almost 20 years old and it still looks great. It's like something with the lighting that they got really well, it looks so natural, there are no extra reflections and glow everywhere.
37:57 This mix introduced me to this song. It stuck out to me, it has a distinct mood to it that I resonate with, so added it to my playlist. At that time I had a trip coming up, going to the UK, first time out of the US. It was a big deal for me. I decided I might as well download the song in case I didn't have wifi and wanted something to listen to. I played it while I was over there, listening to it on long bus rides to landmarks. It wasn't my intent, but the song now reminds me of the UK. Of boarding that plane. Of exploring fresh, unfamiliar surroundings. Of being out there on my own. Lots of eras of my life take on distinct flavors when I look back at them, and now this song serves as a quick taste of one, an especially meaningful one. Figured I'd share that cool little takeaway I got from this mix. Thanks for introducing the song to me, and keep up the sick mixes, man. Peace.
@@TheyCallMePDub appreciate the comment man. If you have the time, check out some of my newer vids and see the different background stuff that's been going on :)
Great vibes throughout the entire journey. The mix of music, gratitude, and personal reflections creates a unique and uplifting experience. Kudos to the creator for delivering such a positive message!
I just keep going down the list of songs so far tonight and I’m hooked. These are great 🥺 the visuals are awesome too. I think I’m gonna play my next morrowind playthru with this in the background
Hey man trying to find one of the songs I think I found on your mixes, "mind in motion"? Do you know which track I'm talking about? Love that one but can't find it. Went back through a few of the mixes
@@sabinocanyon4164 Hey there, I took a look and unfortunately I don't think it was one of my mixes. I haven't featured a track called "mind in motion."
Assuming you grew up in this era.. I was used to make maps for 1.6 and source.. Brings back the good times... Did you ever get to play the OG half-life mod called Public Enemy. The sound track for that game is fucking insane.. Also the maps would be a good video for ur next vid.. 😎😎🤙🤙

The canal is HL2 was a magic moment in the whole video game.
props for shouting out EELF
gotta man
Hl2 water effects is such a good idea for vapor wave aesthetics, nostalgia and remembering the excitement it brought.
Uhhhh... well this is FUCKING COOL. This might be the most precise vibe my brain has been searching for for...decades? Thank you for this!
Only suggestion is maybe every few songs throw a different background scene from the same HL2 map!
