    Greetings my #GothMoths
This is my all time favourite Queen song so I thought I'd kick start my birthday week off with my favourite band of all time, Queen!

My name is Nat and I am a gothic operatic singer, actor and voice artist based in the heart of Kent, England. Music has always played an important part in my life as a musician and I love to use my platform on TH-cam to share it in my music reactions.
I work on the basis of a reaction should be just that, you don't get another crack at it! What you see from me is the real deal. I don't pre-screen anything I see or work from tight scripts. I'm completely open, emotive and sensitive with my audience.

The intro is taken from "Vesti la giubba" and aria from Leoncavallo's opera "Pagliacci"

The Intro is indeed from an opera. it is based on an aria from Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci. I agree Nat, this is an incredible song in many ways ..and so Freddie in every way !Impeccable writing , stellar production values , and unequaled performance.

You should react to How Can I Go On by Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballé

yes! it's those subtleties and nuances in his vocals that make it impossible for other singers to 100% capture his essence. Freddie adds flavor, texture & spice to his words. In so doing, his songs are wonderfully out of this world. You have lovely reactions to Queen (and others). Thank you.

Flamboyant, our Freddie? Perish the thought!! As for the glare - Roger, Brian & John weren't exactly enamored with costumes. Great reaction, and really liking the new hair colour.

Nuance is the world I go with to describe all the little turns of phrase Freddie puts in a song.
His nuances were extraordinary and let him sing the same
Song almost completely fresh in different performances of it. Love it and I love this song too, always been in my top 10 Queen.

Thanks so much, most incisively addressed & enjoyed. Check out ‘Don’t try so hard’ from the Innuendo album when you can. Thanks from the south of Africa

Just love your reactions! You put so much detail into them. Please do another Queen! One of my favorites White Queen( a nite at the Odeon) Hammersmith 1975

A beautiful song. One of my favorites, as far as a 'softer' one, is The World We Created (the activist in me 'connects' with it on some very sad, spiritual level). ~ One thing about Queen that, imho, never got enough praise were their incredible harmonies.

Please analyze and react to White Queen at the Hammersmith Odeon!!!!!!!!

For me that would be 'who wants to live forever' mainly because it became the 'Highlander' TV series. Shot in Paris for a large part. But that is probably due to the fact I really on my way to a grave. The rigours of getting older, which wasn't given to Freddy.
Still it is a great song.

For one thing, the song is very heartfelt. For some reason, people mistakenly assume that all Queen ( and Freddie) songs are autobiographical even though Freddie repeatedly dismissed this simplistic notion.
That does not mean that Freddie never wrote songs that were expressive of his personal sentiments, this one being one of the prime examples (and "Life is Real" being another). One needs to be a bit of a Queen fan to pick up on these nuances (and facts).
Btw, intetesting that you pick up on the "I" vowel since Freddie deliberately shifts the sound in his live renditions of BoRap to more of an "aye" ( as in "ayeeee don't want to die")

It was true of his piano playing and song writing, as well. The tiny details.

Beautiful reaction! I completely Agee! Where I'm concerned, choosing a favorite Queen song is like picking a favorite flavor of Ben and Jerry's ice cream or Talenti gelato: just so many delicious flavors, you can't pick just one! As an opera enthusiast myself, its funny you should bring up the opera connection, Freddie actually took inspiration from the opera Pagliacci for some of the costumes ideas and the idea of the joy as well as the pain of love among many other things I'm sure. Yeah, Roger, John and Brian all HATED the visuals and costumes. I personally adore Brian's costume. Brian still has the skull guitar in his collection, he had it on display last year as part of his complete Diableries stereoscopic launch party. I don't think its made of bone though. Brian and Roger's audio commentary for the video is insightful and hilarious! th-cam.com/video/HgWp78Spu6s/w-d-xo.html.

Could you please react to Dir En Grey. They are a Japanese progressive metal band. Macabre Live ( at Tabula Rasa) or Vinushka. The singer does some incredible things with his voice.
