    If you don't know anything about it, don't make yourself look stupid. It's called collection. I ride reiners/cow horses and that's what you are looking for. Nothing about that ride was normal, it was EXTRAORDINARY!!

      walker Priester LMAO if that head between leg thing was collection in your eyes, then you dont know anything AT ALL about riding or horse physiology LOL

    • @Wcpriester96
      @Wcpriester96 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I'm pretty sure I know a little about riding, how many times have you been in the AQHA journal? Exactly. I know about horse physiology also, I've competed in judging and knowledge bowls. I didn't learn what i know from a parelli video, I learned it through experience. I may be 19 but I promise I ride AND know more about riding than you ever will.

      Hey if we're going through experience, I'm around your age and have ridden and shown horses in both English and Western since I was 5. I do everything from show jumping and eventing to reining and roping. And I was raised on a quarter horse stud farm by two women (my mom and my aunt) who have raised working quarter horses for over 50 years between them (And plenty have gone to world and have championships). This is not true reining, not how it was made to be, and that horse looks sad and defeated. A quarter horse--hell, any american stock breed, should be intelligent and willing to please and HAPPY. He should enjoy this job and make it enjoyable to watch. This horse does not enjoy his job, or the idiotic coward on him. There is several moments of hyperflexion (rollkur) and the other moments are on the opposite end of the terrible spectrum. You know shit about collection for being such an expert. This horse does not run about the pasture in this headset, I promise you. He is holding his head below his shoulder and looks tense as all fuck. Low and drawn out don't mean free and loose.

    I have never read such a bunch of nonsense in my life!!! The horse is not being mistreated at all. That is his natural headset for goodness sakes. The horse is enjoying what he is doing, just look at his ears and tail. When he is backing up the rider is not forcing him to tuck in his head he does it naturally. These horses are bred for this and they love it. Get the facts before your opinion.

    • @Wcpriester96
      @Wcpriester96 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It isn't natural, the horse knows it better work off of the slightest cue, or it's gonna get its ass tore up. Nothing is wrong with it, I'm an AQHA highpoint in this kind of stuff. The headset isn't natural either, it's trained to be collected.

    "Horse abuse", they say. Yet they have no idea on how he is training them. Ears back doesn't mean uncomfort everytimes, it depends from a lot of things.
    Head down not natural? They can do it even if you ride them and they are naked, no bit, no spur, no crop, and even if you just stay in the middle and they run around without you touching them.
    Head down means blood in the brain; it means relax, like when they eat; it means back stretched in a better way for the horse.
    Why is it a problem in the english way when the horse is taking the head down? Because he is escaping the bit, because he finds comfort by escaping it, because they don't like it.
    "Horse abuse": easy word to say when you know nothing about their body and behaviour.

    I can't believe that disrespectful and ruthless treatment of horses is honoured by the crowd and the judges! It has nothing to do with riding. It has to do with horse abuse. Shame on you.

    Not once has this horse had it's ears either forward or in a soft, moving listening position, they were 99% back in an unhappy manner. The tail never once lifted and the dock was firmly held down. This is not the sign of a happy, comfortable horse doing the work he has been trained to do. To say that these are things that horses do whilst in the wild or playing is ludicrous. Not once have I seen a horse spin round and round and round on the spot with its head buried between its front legs, never once have I seen a horse literally run backwards again with its head tucked round between its front legs in such a hideous fashion. Yep they do spin (mine does this great) and they do sometimes back up but not in the way demonstrated on this appalling video.

    My goodness. I don't know anything about this but it doesn't at all look normal. I have owned horses and can't imagine a horse holding their heads down like that to run. Not natural in evolution,AND.. what did the horse endure in training to learn how to do this? Sad

    • @katrinmuller5987
      @katrinmuller5987 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      have you ever watched a stallion with his mares? he does this to control them. he runs with very very low headed after his mares.... with riding it's all about the shoulder. so long as the shoulder still works light and free i can't see no problem at all.

    • @zona85255
      @zona85255 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have owned horses and can't imagine this? You don't know squat about horses!

    • @kateco4197
      @kateco4197 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      aye idiot, there are many parts of this video in which the idiotic coward uses Rollkur. News flash: Hyperflexion can be done during western events too, and it is wrong no matter the saddle. And you are no horse person if you think that this is okay. And yeah, a stallion will put his head down to chase his mare. But there are no mares here, are there? And what if this horse is a mare? What about the horses who compete who are mares? Are they gay, then? It is not natural for a horse holds his head like that while running, it is as manufactured as collection on a dressage horse. Horses like their heads up and free and loose, and while the low set might fool you into thinking it's free and loose, I promise you that in the pasture, this horse does not run around like that. My niece is 9 and would out ride him any day on our oldest horse, if we go by true riding and not this modern ugly bullshit. Reining is magnificent, but this is wrong and fake.

    Why do people see this as clever? Any extreme bend/stop/turn etc. is nothing more than abuse. It is not clever in any branch of equestrianism. These horses must have very short useful [and ultimately painful] lives when such extremes are asked of them. Once again, animal welfare in America is sadly lacking.
    That horse is obviously stressed. It's breathing and everything about it screams stress - and subservience. It is painful to watch.

    • @Wcpriester96
      @Wcpriester96 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ever thought it was breathing hard because it just ran, full speed, for the greater part of five minuets? This man can ride. I've been to the pro's barns, and their training is bad. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful pattern.

    • @BernaskaneyTheLangobard
      @BernaskaneyTheLangobard 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Horses can actually stop like that when they run around you, even when they are naked and you don't keep them, by a simple vocal request. They can actually also spin when you are not on them, with simple jesture. It proves that it is not abuse, if you do it in the proper way.
      They obviously need the proper terrain and they use special irons on their feet.

    This is terrible! How can you even think this is good? Its not normal to have the head like that between its leg. Poor horse! This should be banned!!

    • @SugarSweet82
      @SugarSweet82 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sure it´s normal for a horse to passage around with it´s head high and nose to the chest, or jumping over 1,70m or to exhaust itself to death in a parcour.... or breaking it´s neck while marathon 160 Km in 8 hours.... I could continue for along time.... to everybody it´s own, right?

    • @marieknippare5608
      @marieknippare5608 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SugarSweet82 But have i said that?
      I cant see that i did.
      And as long a person abuse the horse/animal no matter what sport it is i will say what i think. The animals always comes first.
      And i can tell you that i kinda hate the "modern" dressage. Cant even look at horse events because of all the shit thats going on. Sure there are some good ones but they are not many....

      Katrin Müller Ya thats sick! And still they dont really do anything about it. A horse should not suffer or die because of stupid people

    • @katrinmuller5987
      @katrinmuller5987 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      of course not. i agree 100%. but i love reining and in this ride, i can't see so much cruelty. but i really don't like to know how he's doing the training for this show.

  • @thomasbuhlmann6437
    @thomasbuhlmann6437 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The horse has been trained with cruel methods named Rollcur or LDR, which is baned by the FEI and since 2014 totaly forbidden by law in Switzerland. The horses suffer under airway obstruction, permanent sore neck muscles, guided by fear and lack of visibilty... and the crowd is cheering in ignorance!

    Horrible just horrible. Rolkur in play and why oh why do they put their poor horses on the forehand like that. I hate to think of the long term damage to joints etc. On another note the shrieking of the supporters is making my ears bleed.

    • @Wcpriester96
      @Wcpriester96 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the forehand? What are you talking about? That horse works off the hind legs, as do all correctly trained reining horses. The videos of me on my profile don't show it, they are a few years old. I'm an AQHA highpoint, been in the journal, and I ride the hell out of reining horses. That ride was beautiful, you don't know what you are talking about.
