This is beautiful guitar work. Neil's passing has me back into all things Rush and rediscovering Caress of Steel and in particular Necromancer has been a terrific journey. Alex's work in this song is up there with some of the best guitar in all of rock history IMO, and Blobblob22 here absolutely nails it. I can't believe anyone other than Alex can play this so perfectly note for note. If I played guitar I'd just give up because it would seem like I'd never have any chance at playing so well. Awesome!!!

Enter 2112 where they decided to do exactly what they wanted to do and the rest is history. I have zero respect for any rock musician who doesn't like Rush - especially when the only song they're familiar with is "Closer to the Heart"

8:35 that happens to be the same chord progression as Baba O'Reilly, however you don't see The Who suing Rush because they're smart enough to know that you have to use the same chord progressions sometimes.
I'm curious, how come you opted for a room reverb sound during the second solo? That's got to be one of the driest-sounding solos in existence...Almost sounds like they bypassed the speaker and went right into the board

I plug the guitar into a Boss Micro BR, I don't use an amp. The Micro BR has built in effects such as chorus, echo, gain etc. I also use a Boss Overdrive pedal that I connect between the guitar and the BR.
