    Videos like this are good examples of good people using the internet for for what it was intended for - the relaying of useful information people can use. Brian Douglas - and those like him who teach the rest of us - are simply awesome.

      PID: "A proportional-integral-derivative controller is a control loop mechanism employing feedback that is widely used in industrial control systems and a variety of other applications requiring continuously modulated control." What's the simplest or most easily understood example?

    I look away for one second and Wall-E is there. The drawing is on point, the viewer doesn't have to wait for you to draw so you're always engaged, and the lecture is really good.

    This is the single best explanation of PID control I have ever come across since I was first exposed to it 4 years ago. Often times as engineers, we get math equations thrown at us, but the intuition behind that math is lacking. This video is perfect for developing an intuitive understanding of those concepts.

    Great lecture! I have two questions concerning the paths (4:09) thought:
    1. Why is it only k_p and not k_p*s on the proportional path?
    2. How comes you multiply the k_i with 1/s and not f.ex. s on the integral path?

    • @HrushikeshNaik1650763n73
      @HrushikeshNaik1650763n73 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      PaJo GaMo
      1.Kp. is a linear function not a exponential function. So we do not multiply anything to it
      2. Ki times integral of e^st is simply Ki * 1/s
      3. Kd times derivative of e^st is simply Kd * s
