Apparently the way you diagnose a bad resistor is to pull the bezel around the HVAC control, then pull the control module, then disconnect the fan wiring harness plug to look for a burnt connection. If so, it may be wise to replace that connector or at least clean it. Find details about removing the bezel on videos about infotainment replacement. Use plain table knives to pry off the bezel.
This repair was done on a 2012 Outback. Other models/years of Subaru's may have the resistor module in different locations. Let me know if this was where your fan module was and what year/model of Subaru you have!
This is exactly what I needed I didn't know the exact name of the part that I needed to buy but you help me with that thanks
Hi, I have one question why my subaru has air flow in the front but not at middle?

Was the blower still working but you couldn't adjust the flow? My blower is not working at all so I think its the motor itself.
Correct, it still worked, just didn't adjust the flow on the top two highest settings. Sounds like you might be right, could be a bad blower.
I only have one speed which is the very lowest on my 3.6 Limited, do you think it could be the resistor or the ac motor
Hmm, hard to know. I might start by replacing the resistor as that will likely be the cheapest and easiest place to start.
@@42Pursuit never mind, it fixed itself after a day, but thanks for the info, I’ll definitely start with the resistor if it happens again
