I am originally from India lived as expatriate at Kuwait and Bahrain for 23 years and 2 years respectively. I love fatayers namely Zaater, Zaater maa Zaytoon, Lehm, Sabanekh and Sujok ❤❤❤
Hi there Blanche. As a Lebanese Greek, I adore za'atar. I could not live without it and have it every single day. I'm living in Europe and it's very difficult to find authentic and good quality za'atar. I used to be able to buy it from a Lebanese supermarket but now I buy it online. I'm delighted to tell you it's as good as what we have at home in Lebanon and it's from Filastin! 🥳🥳🥳💞🇱🇧🇵🇸

Hi! I m so glad I came across your video. Checked out many videos on how to make za'atar. Yours is the best. Simple and informative. Thank you so much. 🤗
Thank you! That is exactly what I am to do on my channel, breakdown Middle Eastern recipes so they are extremely simple and flavorful for anyone that has never tried it before. Welcome!
@@blanchetv When I was in the Middle East I was introduced to za'atar by a Lebanese friend and I could buy the za'atar spice mix there. But now I m back in my country and I would like to make my own za'atar as it is not something freely available here. So glad I came across your video. 😊
This is great didn’t know I could do zaatar at home. I usually buy a brand that comes straight from Palestine but couldn’t find it so I bought a brand called Adonis it said Palestinian style but I was disappointed ☹️ wasn’t so good. I’ll try ur spice mix😊
Great job with the video! We've done all of the above with the Zaatar, except Zaatar on eggs and I am excited to try it now. Is that a Palestinian tradition? We've never done that in my Palestinian family.
Thank you! Absolutely it is a Palestinian tradition. Even when you go to Palestinian hotels you will find hard boiled eggs sprinkled with za’atar all the time 👍
Great video! I love me some za’atar, I have a plant in my yard, the fresh leaf w some nabulsi cheese, a tomato and fresh bread is quite divine:) a great brand for those don’t want to make it is Al ‘Ard...very good stuff!
@@nuhamiley3128 I purchase it online, but some grocery stores carry it. For the za'atar, the recipe is also in my cookbook, not sure if you have it but it is: 4 tablespoons ground thyme or savory 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted 4 teaspoons ground sumac* 1 teaspoon coarse salt
@@blanchetv i have your cook book i forgot to look for that daaaa I always buy it last 2 times my cousin was nice enough to bring back from Jordan. i have been using it much more often lately like on my eggs or on labne and even manaeesh on pillsbury crescent rolls. I took it ti a party and now my friend wants some so I am glad u suggested that brand i will tell her. I noticed some of them have fillers i don’t like that
@@nuhamiley3128 Fabulous! Yes I do not like fillers either, and the Jordan ones are great! Also in terms of quality I really like Ziyad brand products ;)
The Local Fox has nothing to do with the National fox. Totally different, the one in San Francisco is far more humanitarian, different vibe all together. I figure if they invited me to put a human and cultural face on my people, rather than a negative spin like they do on Fox National, I would go for it.
@@blanchetv Actually, that station is owned by Fox, the parent company. Thus, it is the same as Fox National from a corporate perspective. I understand your point about going on to represent your culture--thought of that instantly of course--and obviously this is all your decision--but I was wondering why you would do it. Thanks for replying. I do plan to make the za'atar soon, too, unless I can find some in a Middle Eastern market locally (obviously, I could in Dearborn but still not making such trips--about 30 minutes--but perhaps in a couple weeks).
@@richardwallace6313 Prior to doing feast in the Middle East I was a news reporter for 15 years. I have many colleagues in the business that are very kind and work for a variety of stations including Fox. When they approached me I thought it was a no brainer to represent my people, because my people are villainized on pretty much every news channel. To be honest all main stream media is propaganda not just Fox.As a journalist I feel it is my duty to give my truth otherwise the stations are all purely propaganda from Fox to CNN to MSNBC, who all take their turns giving only one dimension of my people through the lens of war. To be silent and not give that narrative on this kind of platform to me is just making things worse. This is why I entered media and got my masters in journalism in the first place before this cooking project even existed. From the beginning this is why I do what I do.
zaatar mix olive oil with tomatoe sandwich also add if wished labneh onion hot pepper
