I work at an optometrists.Your pupillary distance is specific with each pair of frames. It changes with frame to frame. Some optometrist maybe able to give you your p.d. With out glasses on but not all of them keep it on file ( we don’t keep it on file) Be careful when using the self measured pd or the pd from your optometrist if you have a high rx with astigmatism, progressives or bifocals because it could cause the rx to be off!
Hey, Idk if you’d be able to help me lol (thank god I found this video and saw ur comment). I just ordered a new pair of glasses from EyeBuyDirect. I was excited for them to arrive - however, it turns out that it’s not what I expected it to be. When I normally put on my glasses, everything is blurry; when I raise them up to my brows, everything is clear. Idk if they messed up my PD? Plz help 😭
Mae C hi! It could be a number of things! One thing I’ve noticed when people buy glasses online is that when they arrive they are obviously not adjusted to your face. I’d recommend taking them into see an optician and having them adjust them, they might be able to bring them up higher. Adjustments are usually always free at places like LensCrafters or any other large chain optometrist. It could also be a bad frame for your face shape which is causing the rx to be off because the p.d. Is not with in tolerance. An optician might even be willing to measure your p.d. With your new glasses. They could give you an individual p.d. For each eye with said glasses on. Hope this helps!
Omg that was helpful! I actually got them replaced and they got it right this time. However, the frames were made a little bit loose (it slides off of my nose quiet often). Is that also fixable?
Julian Golp did your optometrist give you this p.d.? That’s a pretty big difference, so I can’t give you an answer. But I found this wonderful manual system online from a great sight that gives a pretty great idea on how to get the closest p.d. Hope it helps! 1.)Wear your glasses. (Or any glasses if you don't have your own. ) Have a felt-tip maker handy. Focus on a single object in the far distance (anything farther than 20 feet works, but farther is better). 2.) Raise the marker to your right lens and precisely put a dot on it directly over the distant object. 3.) Repeat for your left eye. If done correctly, with both eyes open the two dots should overlap into a single dot over the distant object. If not repeat making the markings until they do form a single dot. 4.) Measure the distance between the two dots on your lenses with a millimeter ruler. 5.)That's your distance PD. If you need a near PD for reading or computer glasses, just do the same procedure but focus instead on the object you will be looking at, either reading material or computer monitor.
The three I purchased in 2016 are all still holding up really well! Admittedly, I take really good care of them and clean them often. I always put them back in the case whenever I'm not wearing them and stash them away until I use them again.
I'm about to make an order with them and your video really helped! I loved all the styles that you chose! Just my luck that the ones I wanted are the ones that aren't available anymore. I really liked that case with the magnetic closure but too bad that they don't have that one. I'll probably just get the one with the elastic closure..
Thank you so so much. I am going to order one pair of eyebuydirect soon. I used to buy glasses from Costco or just got prescription lens at Walmart ( I had cute frames from somewhere else) and the lens are almost $200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha stupid me but I will never do it again. I bought glasses from my eye doctor clinic too... I feel the same as a lot of people mentioned, I will buy glasses online, I will buy from this website. I love Bonlook too. Thank you for your review.
aw how do i choose the eyeglasses i have a low bridge nose? your video is so informative..i really like the first one you showed its but out of stock :(
You should also try FIRMOO.com they have such cute styles!!!! I've bought like 8 pairs from them I'm barley going to start trying Eyebuydirect so we'll see I'm super excited!
i did! and i saw some reviews theres a really significant blue tint/glare on it. totally regret picking them but I'll try them and I'll come back and message you once i receive them :)
It took about 14 business days the first time I ordered from them but was significantly quicker the second time I placed an order. Price ranges from free (without tracking) to around $20. You can find all this information on their website, and they have coupons to save you a bit of money! 😊
Warby Parker is nice because you can try them on, but I thought the quality felt very cheap. Am I the only one? I never hear anyone talk about their quality, but I wasn’t impressed at ALL.
According to their site, they offer lenses with indexes up to 1.74. And they do offer transition lenses. You can look for more information on their website! :]
Hi Sheri! New subbie here. Just subbed I wanted to order some also. IDK if I missed it or not but I was wondering what size you got S M L? I'm just afraid they won't fit me bc IDK what my size is.
Hi there! I ordered large frames, mainly because that's the size I like most for my face. You can upload a picture to the site to see what the frames will look like on and determine the best size that way.
I totally get the whole glasses collection thing, and spending hours and hours checking out the frames online. I'm a huge EBD fan too!
i just bought "the moon" pair and i'm so excited to get them!
Wow, are we the same person?? I'm also nearsighted with slight astigmatism in my left eye, and I started wearing glasses in the 5th grade!

My PD says 66/63. When buying glasses for distance I would use the 66 right?

How is the quality? The one's you bought previously, how are they holding up?
