There's a couple things I've figured out on my own gameplay that you could benefit from:
1 - Rifles. Ammunition is key. Choose one caliber and only produce rifles that use that one bullet. It seems like you've chosen 5.56x45, which gives you a couple of different rifles to use including XM8, M4, M416, etc. Whatever you do, only produce 5.56x45 and rifles that use 5.56x45. Sell all other rifles and rifle ammunition. This will make supply very easy down the road.
2 - IFVs. You mentioned that you prefer APCs like the Bradley over tanks. There is a difference between APCs and IFVs. APCs have lighter armor and armament, usually a machine gun or light auto cannon. In your last play through, the M113A1 you liked was an APC. Armored Personel Carriers are battle taxis of sort: they aren't supposed to extensively fight on the front lines, therefore they are weaker. The M2A2 Bradley is an Infantry Fighting Vehicle. It has heavier armor and heavier armament because its meant to fight extensively. I have found the M2A2 to be the best IFV and best non-tank vehicle of the game. You really should produce that as quickly as possible. It also uses the M242 25mm ammunition, which should be quick to research
3 - Tanks. I know you don't like them, but they are really hard to beat in some cases. Higher tier tanks are great at eating RPGs and surviving. While there are higher tier tanks, like the K2, AbramsX, Challenger II, and Leopard II, the M1A1 Abrams really is the best: its cheaper than the others and pretty similar in performance. As an island nation, ergonomics will be important. The m1A1 uses the M256 120mm
4 - Artillery. It's called the king of battle for a reason. There are four artillery vehicles in the game: M142 HIMARS, M270 MLRS, M109, and a soviet equivalent of the M109. The M109(which uses M284 155mm) and the soviet version(which uses M81 152mm) are best as a support role. Create a battalion solely with these artillery pieces and keep them really close to the army you are using to engage the enemy with. If they are in close proximity, the 155mm and 152mm artillery will be a call-in like helicopters are jets. Its a barrage of 10 or so shells that is incredibly lethal. As for the M142 and M270, they are rocket artillery. Those are best when they are in the army that is fighting. The m142 carries 6 rockets and is faster but the M270 carries 12 rockets and has a bit more armor. They use the M26 227mm rockets. I prefer the 155mm and 152mm tube artillery over the rocket artillery myself, but above is how I've found them to be best used.
5 - Aircraft. Jets are night and day better than the helicopters. Expensive, yes, but worth it.
6 - Battalion composition. You seem to prefer the 10 squad battalion format. In your previous game play, you used a lot of the same vehicle in a battalion. Try to diversify a bit while maintaining a standard. In a 10-stack, I do the following: 2 tanks, 6 IFVs, 1 rocket artillery, and 1 air-defense vehicle. Using the vehicles I suggested above, a 10-squad battalion would look like this: 2 M1A1 Abrams, 6 M2A2 Bradleys, 1 M142 or M270, and 1 Vulcan anti-air vehicle(VADS).
In summary, research and produce the M1A1, M2A2, M109(when available) and produce 5.56x45, M242 25mm, M256 120mm, M26 227mm, and 20mm for the vulcan
A lot of good information! I've definitely changed my mind on modern tanks. They are way better than I previously thought. I also need to get arty in mass.

There is a bug in the game that you can exploit. Once you have your starting ships, load your army to the limit. Then, with a second army, try to merge with the ship. You can take a large number of vehicles with the initial 3 ships.
It must have been patched. Does not work for me 😭
@ Sometimes it doesn’t work for me either, try using a different port. Also, try merging the army from the city, or leave the city and try again.
