Unpopular opinion maybe but for me this is Scorsese’s best film. The soundtrack is insanely good too. All classic doo-wop songs that were popular in that 70s era. Just love everything about it. Will be picking up the limited 4K set at the weekend.
Supercool revisiting in 4K. Loving the Second Sight output.
I have already the Criterion one!
I love Scorsese, but never got around to watching this one. Picked up the Second Sight 4K over the local Criterion because I collect all of Second Sight Films’ 4K limited editions. They do a good job of mixing classics with modern films.
I quite enjoyed mean streets, especially seeing how de Nero played this character. And the 60s -70s movies are the best it just feels like you’re there
It felt like he was the blueprint for Liam Gallagher.
You need to do more reviews of the technical aspects. Picture sound qualities. Also comparisons with previous releases.
Hmmmm I better snag this one before it sells out. Love this film! I'll be hoping to get the deluxe 4k edition... That book looks like an awesome read too!
Looking forward to getting this one.
Wow, what a film. Loved the already expensive Dog Soldiers box by Second Sight but this one is £10 more at £50. With the alternative 4K option being the standard release for £25 (just a disc in a case), I’m forced to import the Criterion version for this one. Second Sight releases are great but a bit too expensive in my opinion.
Yes I think they are getting too much for a single release, I will probably just pickup standard releases from them in the future
I've got the Criterion 4K, but sometimes Second Sight surpasses them....as they did with WALKABOUT.
Price made me apprehensive but I finally pre ordered last week. Its a favourite I didn't discover till the early 00's.
It’s one of those films I appreciate more with each watch
@@manvfilm aye and it was one of those films me and my mates watched a lot when we discovered it.
Got this on Saturday, again another dented box, takes the thrill and excitement out of collecting, that aside its a fantastic release, recommended to everyone, green room looks a good one too coming soon
For reference, where did you order from?
I ordered from Rarewaves, now the reason was because I could get it for £38 there as they are usually cheaper on pre-orders and also was 20% off weekend or something. Its a decent saving and I have used them before with not many issues. I have ordered direct from Second Sight plenty of times and sometimes the item is damaged in some way but I have always found their customer service to be top-notch, much better than Arrow Video and 88 Films customer service.@@modestyblaise4167
I’ve been rather lucky with my boxes so far.
Green room is just fantastic.
Yeah I almost dread parcels now rather than look forward to opening them, companies are getting better with their packaging like Arrow has got a lot better. Second Sight customer service are great uif there are any issues, they quickly replaced the digipack for Texas Chainsaw Massacre as it was damaged@@manvfilm
