Crawford’s wipers were a nice touch 😂
I wondered if cows were in butchers field before they went to the butcher (as the most pc way of saying where they are going for todays online world of course lol) in the olden days but probably not or you’d have known that. lol
Ah maybe! I never thought of that but it makes perfect sense!
It seems a bit big for a holding pen for the butcher.
Good update Josh.
We had a field called Little London, nowhere near London.
Church Field is a common name.
I wonder where little London came from!
Cracking video josh hope you @ Abbi have a great weekend 👍👍👍
Thanks Sandy!
spoon Field / Well field /big Field / Field across road /Back Field /top bank /hall field /field behind house to name a few
Field behind the house tickles me! 😂
Great video josh 👍. Things are busy.
Thanks John!
I Use to work on a dairyfarm that was actually the remains of an old castle built roughly in 1324 the farmhouse was in fact what was left of the west gate house, anyway as you can imagine it had many unusual field names such as The Slips, or The Ladywell, I have no idea why they are called them, but one name on the farm that always puzzled me was a field we called Pecks, why I have no idea, I did ask but even the elderly farm owner had no idea why either, as for the most common it has to be Front Paddocks it seems like every farm I've ever worked on had at least one field called that.
Pecks is a new one, never heard of that! Front meadow I think too!
@@JMFarming Honestly Josh that's the only farm I've worked on the had strange field names, but the gateway to Pecks was only about 400 yards from a junction called Hangmans Corner, maybe it was something to do with that, but who knows.
Good video Josh 👍
Thanks Philip!
A friend worked on a salad farm near Darford while a student in the 1980s . He asked why the fields were named after people, the manager said
" they are named after the last person to die in that field !"
Crikey that’s some motivational speaking!
We have a small paddock called Reckless but no idea why! Top field for a more common name perhaps?
I wonder why! 🤔 top field would be another very common one 👌🏼
Fans on in the parlour helps with flies mate if you've got them.
Yeah we got 2 running flat out! Pesky things are biting now 😬
Home field most common? We’ve a field called aunt Miriam’s used to be owned by her
Would be one of the common ones!
Josh I am shocked! I always took you for being a loyal husband to Abi, but seeing you with all these ladies left me gobsmacked. Also having seen that last picture, I now believe that Gus is not as loyal to you as you may think, as he might have said something to Abi. 🤣, Great video and our strangest named field was called the hole.
Front meadow, low piece or low field.
True enough!
You video is absolutely amazing and fantastic plus how did you get on in Ireland had you a lovely time 👍🏿👍🏿
Thank you! We had a fantastic time in Ireland!
Every farm in Ireland has a field called the Bog
Haha brilliant! 😂
Field I build our new house in always known as Honeypot, 🤔🐝🐝

That’s a nice name for a field!
We have fields that are browns Bennett’s and the hill

Nice one Josh busy time their how many cows have you left to calve
Really enjoyed the video as always looking forward to the next one
I think about 70 left now!
All our fields apart from Mary’s field are all named after features in the field or previous usage like Deer park, old orchard, pavilion, landing…
Makes sense! There are some strange ones out there!
U rlly need to get a quad the tracks that the Land Rover is leaving would turn my stomach
Added to the wish list!
We have a field called “zogs” and had the same name on the 1800s maps, also a barley field which my father never remembers having barley in it.
That’s an odd name! Haha they are the best kind of names!
Years ago most butchers slaughtered their cows, so I guess it was a butchers storage field before they got to the chopping block
That could be it!
I worked at a farm one of the Field was called Camera field
Strange!
@JMFarming it is because they us a speed camera
@JMFarming it is because they is a speed camera they
Stoney field is common enough.
Very true!
Would of been safer to switch engine off before sticking your hands in masarator and hope you collected all the stones up off the field
I would have! 😬
Long field and we have one called grey gate because the gate is grey random
Haha! Does what it says I suppose!
We had a field called "carrots" despite the fact no carrots were ever grown there!
😂😂 brilliant!
We got a feild called London bridge what has no bridge in and nearly 4hrs aways from London and I think frount feild will be the most common
Haha brilliant!
The fields on our small farm all have names usually the name of whoever owned them many years ago like Houston's hill but there is a small field called the cosey dont know why cause its a wet hole😂
It’s an odd thing to think about isn’t it!
My old house had 3 fields and one paddock and we had one called pirate ship field , hayfield , strip was the paddock and horse field
I have enjoyed hearing everyone’s field names! Some interesting ones there!
