Mr. Kelter, I know you will be watching this video, and I hope you read this comment. When you meet with your fellow Vietnam Vets, please let them know this country truly respect your service and we are forever grateful for your courage and sacrifice. Unlike those from Berkley, who now hide the cowardice of their youth, know this country welcomes you and your brothers home.
You have a wonderful heart for our Vietnam veterans, The Bravest Generation! Thank you for all your efforts to give them a stage to share their experiences. You are an angel on Earth! Jim Kelter- I salute you for your service. I am a grateful American.
The youthful generations today (self included) are amazed by your sacrifice and toughness. Incredible resolve. We are incredibly fortunate to have men like Mr. Kelter defend our way of life today. You make us proud, sir!
Another great job ; well done. Thank you sir for all you’ve done for our nation and this wonderful interview you are great communicator. I could rewind and listen to this all day. You are doing such a wonderful work with these interviews keep up the good work friend ❤️🇺🇸🎯
Thank you Larry for all your work in recording history for those of us who couldn't go. I am aware that there were a few Canadians there as well. Have you done some of their stories?
I have featured several of my Canadian war stories here on my TH-cam channel and on my Voices of History radio station, and I have dozens more in my archives which also need to be seen and heard. Could I interest you and others to help sponsor some of them? lcappetto.wixsite.com/sponsoravet
What’s crazy is how many stories I hear about a guy getting his haircut and the very next day the barber was dead as he was a vc. I think so many of these guys hear the stories of others and just use it’s part of their own.
I was with general custer’s unit 1st of the 7th Cav in 1967 100 yrs after Custer’s unit ended in 1876. I was a pro baseball player when i was drafted. My pro career ended in the jungle and endex up in an amputee ward in SF in 68 when RFK was shot. Released from the hospital when Woodstock was startin. Was invited to pro spring trainung in 69 with my Purple Hwarf and Bronze Star but disabled. Etc etc etc
Hi Larry, I live in NJ&yestrdy heard about this guy in NY who for Memorial Day interviews several veterans from WW2. I didn't get his name. He was intrvwd on channel 7. Maybe you could get those and some more for the channel. HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY
I'm not sure how those intrvues went but, as u said if he found WW2 veterans and was able to intrvu them at all should be recognized and a source for Larry.
The young, wounded G.I. who was hiding, and discovered by a young NVA who didn’t expose him, was mentioned in General Hal Moore’s, then a lt. colonel, and Joseph Galloway in their book, "We Were Soldiers Once and Young;" I can’t remember his name but he was a Native American from the Carolinas, Cherokee?,Choctaw?, but anyway Native Americans have an uncanny sense of direction, as there’re other documented stories of Native Americans doing the same. Unfortunately, that young man passed away about 10 yrs later from a car accident, i think, as i read the book over 30 yrs ago.

Vietnam. 1965.66. Fresh off the boat !! 100%. Service related.
I wish my uncle would talk about his time in Nam. He's 77 and I've never heard him speak of it. ' William Bill Hyde'

He did say we would get 6 different versions of the battle , but they all can agree on the hair-cut....The Fog of War !....Thx Jim !
Don't forget that guy did a few hundred hair cuts a day! So a few hundred people have had that happen.
