Zisteau, when you put productivity modules in both the copper wire and green circuit, you can get a close to 1:1 ratio. 14:15 to be exact.. With all the assemblers affected by 4 speed beacons. Speed modules should not be in intermediate product production
I read they added support for personal roboports in cars and trains. You could turret creep a tunnel through the enemy while also laying down track and solar panels, without ever leaving the train. When you hit an insane mineral patch, set up a new cell. Although I guess that would make it more like Factorio Mitosis.
i dont know if you noticed in the crafting menu/research menu, but you can use landfills now, to like close all that water down to like a thin strip between your base and the enemy, that way you will have way more space to build, perhaps for a solar cell
A big problem with your power system is your accumulators aren't even getting used because the game prioritises steam over accumulators, you could fix that with some clever circuitry though.
The circuitry isn't even hard anymore! Prior to 0.13, you couldn't attach Accumulators to the circuit network, so it was kinda tricky to "measure" accumulator capacity indirectly. Now it's as simple as using a Power Switch and one piece of Red/Green wire. A quick combinator RS-Latch makes it a bit better, though.
Yeah I haven't bothered with it myself so I wouldn't know, once I reach a certain point in the game I make sure to have enough Solar + Accu to deal with any load.
TL;DR Zisteau is wasting his accumulaor capacity because tye game prioritizes engines but he still needs more solar panels and accumulators. But then problem, in this case, could Solar Panels. A properly balanced system of accumulators to solar panels will totally discharge accumulators and totally recharge by the time the accumulators are needed again. I think his number of solar panels, even if hooked you to a system that measured the remaining capacity if get accumulators, would eventually run out of avaliable power and flip on the steam engines to recharge the accumulators.
It's kinda like that watery stuff between real human skin cells, except it's not making electricity. Also you can add walls around each cell just for imitating cells' border.
I figured out a way to use half of the buildings and produce 60% more output on a smaller footprint without drones. Use lower row 4 beacons, up output with balancers, up 4 module, up input, up belt and chest mix, up 4 copper cable, up input, up 4 beacon. Keep a middle spot free for 2 substations. Middle prod 3 and speed 3 mix, beacon speed 3. I dont know why I spend 2 hours to figure out how this works :(
Jack de Reduvo Well, I don't comment often, but I really like the series. So when I take the time to write a suggestion I also share the fact that I like what the content creator is doing. If I wanted attention from people I would just snipe at other comments, better ROI I guess ?
Personally I'd like a section by section tour before it's finished as I'm certain we haven't seen the whole thing with each cell in it's completed form. Maybe I need to do a re-watch.
you could create an island in the sea (lake? idk) and fill it with solar pannel, no resources would be inaccessible and would be away from any place were you could want to build cells (probabily i made a lot of grammatical error, sorry for that :C)
if i'm correct 300 steam engines will use up 1 fully compressed blue belt under full usage, so if anything goes terribly wrong the new engines will start to only give the capacity of 300 instead of 500. ;D
Anther way to help fill your miner lines is to put the miners right next to each other rather than leaving the space as you do. you could probably add 4 miners to each line which increases belt saturation.
the amount of speed module III's in this massive electronic circuit cell...... i wonder just how many electronic circuits were required to fully build it.
When you're trying to see how many steam engines you have in the electric network view, and they're not in the list because they're not being used right now, switch to a longer time period in which they were being used. (E.g. click the "1h" button for one hour)
If you guys want more Cities Skylines, BeakerTeck is a small but good channel with a good Vanilla series on now and the previous two were both good as well
Bob's mods + Angels, yes! And turn off biters, they are just annoyance. You will need all the dedication and lack of bitter distraction to get the ore crushing, processing, slug, rock and waste water recycling going efficiently. Love your Factorio series, keep em coming!
Have you considered making all the trains four lanes wide again? I remember sometime earlier in the series you mentioned that you might do that for more power generation in the future.
That in and of itself would almost triple solar panel coverage. Then filling in the gap between the road and the rails with solar panels and a wall to protect them from you would just about cover your power needs.
Running around exploring the biter bases killed my fps. After a while theres literally thousands of biters stuck trying to pathfind. Had to kill them via console. Beware.
hey zisteau, I haven't watched all your factorio episodes yet, so you may have already talked about this, but why don't you just fill in all your territory with pavement? it's a great way to clean things up and get around faster, and I'm sure you have the resources to do it. plus with robots you can do it super fast
It's too bland. I want to do cool things with concrete that are more aesthetic than functional. I'll be doing an aesthetics clean up episode in the near future.
I think your ratio of copper wire to circuits is wrong, I think one copper assembler can support more than one than one green circuit assembler with all those bonuses applied.
Hey Z, if your looking for a new game to make a series you could look at Robocraft. It's an arena battle game with different gamemodes where you put together ships/bots (think terra tech) and I feel like you would enjoy the creative and the blow them up aspects to it.
+Petr Sokol a mod that change few basics recipies. like a green circuits needs about a thousands of copper plate. make your factory gigantics for just trying to make blue science
14:45 You're just moving stuff around unnecessarily. Simply don't add any belts to the exits you don't need. Feeding them back in simply increases the amount of calculations the game needs to make without having any real benefit from it. Yes, there will some stuff be in the balancer that never gets out, but that isn't really much of a problem now, is it? So don't make any loops like that. They're just a waste.
That would be pretty awesome considering Arumba and Zisteau are THE two players I watch play this game. Throw Steejo in there too like a wrench into the machine :D
@Zisteau, Loving the Factorio Meiosis series. Keep up the awesome work!
+Zisteau you mean
Zisteau, when you put productivity modules in both the copper wire and green circuit, you can get a close to 1:1 ratio.
14:15 to be exact.. With all the assemblers affected by 4 speed beacons. Speed modules should not be in intermediate product production
So glad to spend time w/ my favorite youtuber :D
Keep up the great work Z!
That was probably your best Factorio episode! Bravo Z, bravo!

Just fill the big free space in the south east of your base with solar panels!
I was starting to get a little worried, I mean, four days without a video is not the usual zisteau haha xD
Why not put the solar pannels between the cells? To fill up the space
It's kinda like that watery stuff between real human skin cells, except it's not making electricity. Also you can add walls around each cell just for imitating cells' border.
That is a possibility for areas I have finished the cell and road designs.
My gosh that's a lot of aliens out there!

this is what you call dedication.... nice factory O.o
Hi Zisteau, this series is extremely good! Can you show us the production tabs from time to time, especially when you had a new cell.
I love how people start with "I love this series" or the like to get the attention of people
Good idea! It'd be fun to see those crazy high product/hr numbers, and possibly comparisons with each new cell added.
Jack de Reduvo Well, I don't comment often, but I really like the series. So when I take the time to write a suggestion I also share the fact that I like what the content creator is doing. If I wanted attention from people I would just snipe at other comments, better ROI I guess ?
Jack de Reduvo Or they just want to compliment the person making the series, as a form of showing appreciation for the time they spend on it =p
Personally I'd like a section by section tour before it's finished as I'm certain we haven't seen the whole thing with each cell in it's completed form.

The solar panel cell would be like the heart, the solar panels are essentially the lifeblood of your 'organism' after all
I love how you casually talk about adding 500 steam engines to your base the way a normal player would add, say, 20.
Cool i followed oyu years ago for your terraria vids and now I play Factorio too :) Nice to see you are still having fun :)
I love your videos never stop
Dude I loved this video keep up the good work
love this series. every episode or three the scale keeps getting bigger and bigger.
Wow, I doubt I've ever seen something less power/space/material/pollution efficient.
if i'm correct 300 steam engines will use up 1 fully compressed blue belt under full usage, so if anything goes terribly wrong the new engines will start to only give the capacity of 300 instead of 500. ;D
Thats what you call Mass Production :D
All that massive block with all the mod steroids for just 2 compressed belts.
What the fuck.
Anther way to help fill your miner lines is to put the miners right next to each other rather than leaving the space as you do. you could probably add 4 miners to each line which increases belt saturation.

After this series I kinda would like to see a modded version obviously alit harder but would be interesting
That will for sure happen.
Bob's mods + Angels? :D
love your factorio stuff. so looking forward to that
Bob's mods + Angels, yes! And turn off biters, they are just annoyance.
You will need all the dedication and lack of bitter distraction to get the ore crushing, processing, slug, rock and waste water recycling going efficiently.
Love your Factorio series, keep em coming!
ooo, it's the ever-elusive dark-red pollution chunks.
Unless it's just the borders of pollution between cells.
You know what would be cool? If each cell had to have its own separate solar panel and accumulator array, in an isolated power network.
Another episode? *breathes heavily*
*darth vader breathing sound*

Ok,mits confirmed, zisteau like big modules ;)
this is madness! love it!
north north west of your base before the bottle neck to the west to put solar panels
When you get to launching rockets, PLEASE do something like overkill squared!
Running around exploring the biter bases killed my fps. After a while theres literally thousands of biters stuck trying to pathfind. Had to kill them via console. Beware.
when are you doing another episode?
i wonder if big bases can be fully powerred by oil xD
Is there anyway I could download this map?
Give your cells solar panel shells or borders
hey zisteau, I haven't watched all your factorio episodes yet, so you may have already talked about this, but why don't you just fill in all your territory with pavement? it's a great way to clean things up and get around faster, and I'm sure you have the resources to do it. plus with robots you can do it super fast
It's too bland. I want to do cool things with concrete that are more aesthetic than functional. I'll be doing an aesthetics clean up episode in the near future.
So the current near-future plan is to explore more areas, make things prettier, and to get closer to Unlimited Power?
Fact: There is always an aesthetic factor for so many TH-camrs.
... A solar cell?
WOW JUST... WOW
I think your ratio of copper wire to circuits is wrong, I think one copper assembler can support more than one than one green circuit assembler with all those bonuses applied.
good vid! subbed!
You call this a cell but it looks like a computer chip... producing computer chips.
Hey Z, if your looking for a new game to make a series you could look at Robocraft. It's an arena battle game with different gamemodes where you put together ships/bots (think terra tech) and I feel like you would enjoy the creative and the blow them up aspects to it.
Where is zisteau plays minecraft
how are you going to make a circuit production factory like that and then not show us the production rates of the circuits?!?
Upgrade to 4 lanes just because it would be cool.
Under 301 club!
you should play marathon mod
what's that?
+Petr Sokol a mod that change few basics recipies. like a green circuits needs about a thousands of copper plate. make your factory gigantics for just trying to make blue science

Hey ARUMBA said he'd be interested in a collaboration with you.
That would be pretty awesome considering Arumba and Zisteau are THE two players I watch play this game. Throw Steejo in there too like a wrench into the machine :D
Imagine amass, but with zisteau. ZAAMSS
Finish the story for your minecraft series. You just left it without saying anything.
Ludicrous! Actually no, it is not ludicrous, especially with your history of making... ...Let's say ambitious for lack of a better term bases.
longer and more frequent videos of Factorio pls!
