Great tutorial Lewis as always , I would love your input and thought process on coming from steeps into catch berms if that makes sense! Always seem to end up awkwardly squaring them off and losing speed and composure! Cheers dude
I was a sponsored BMX racer in my Jr High years and with berms/turns I was always taught to "enter high/exit low", which from a geometry point of view makes total sense. The last time I entered a berm low at a bike park I hit that loose gravel at the bottom, slid out, and chewed up the whole upper left side of my body. I didnt head my own knowledge. lol 🤦🏻♂
Yeah. This is what I wanted to know. I was not sure. It seems like it is all about the line and how fast you come out of the turn. A shorter line has a shorter way but it slows you down too much and you can't carry the speed. I would like to know how to avoid the front wheel from dig into the turn or wash away. Where do you have your weight? Into the butom bracket, handlebars... or how can i find the balance point between to far back or far forward? I'm struggling to hold a round line.
Thanks! Whatever feels best and most comfy for you. I try just have my hips central but more favouring the rear. Chest above over the bars. But try some different things
Appreciate the video Lewis. A little generic for me, but the concept came through- enter wide, keep your speed for the bike lay over/supported berm (no brakes!), and keep your head up with eyes on the exit! I think the hardest part is trusting your strength and speed as you hit the lay over. I usually enter too slow and fall over or too fast and can't keep the front end on line. Jealous of your rain over here in California man.
Defo need work on my setups for corners, so this really helped! Body position is also a thing I need to work on, however it's difficult with a bike that's too small for me as I'm finding there is always to much weight over the front tyre. Looking at getting a bigger bike which will hopefully help with this! Tbh I personally could do with some tips on everything, especially more cornering and jumping. Thanks Lewis!
I’m gonna try going high in and not round the bottom of the corner next ride not sure how else I can go faster otherwise without washing. Peep the green grips aswell
Man that camera is incredible. For real the quality is just insane. Do you know what's the camera and the lens please ? Thanks for this tutorial and good luck for the ews !
@@LewisBuchanan Thanks dude! I was at the Golfie this weekend, but didn't get to ride Second Base. Will make sure I hit it next time I'm there, it looks fun :)
Flat cornering of trail and berm tutorial would be awesome thank also for the little tips. BTW new subscribed here in philippines. Btw where you from bro?
Really well presented. I think you are highlighting the difference between the average rider and those riders that ride really well. I think when you are not as skilled (speaking from experience) you tend to be concentrating on just riding rather than looking ahead and setting up. Mad that you don't touch the brakes but you can see that in the speed you rail them 😏
Interesting take: focusing on line choice and energy levels, thanks! What next? Well, when you’re back from winning Madeira, I’d like to see a flat corner tutorial: hard to maintain speed on those….
Flat corner tutorial would be awesome. Loving the content.
Thanks Peter!
@@LewisBuchanan and a second Peter also saying yes please to a flat corner vid!!
👌🏽👌🏽
Yes! +1 for flat corner tutorial ^^
Yewww
Your "snail pace" is my "Oh my god I'm going so fast" pace.
Haha
I like the fact that you're filmed this video under rainy conditions. Pushing yourself in cornering when it's slippery is defenitly a good practice!
🙏🏼👌🏽
Nice. Appreciated. Off camber wet roots that can’t be avoided with line choice.....that fix would go down well!!!
Thanks! Gotcha
That's pretty much a tutorial on how not to die when you must die 😂
Haha
this was a pleasant surprise to my notifications
🤙🏽
Flat corners for sure! Also, steep chunky chutes and catch berms!! Thanks for the tutorial 💪
Gotcha! Thanks
Awesome, super interesting and helpful. Wicked riding too Lewis!
Thanks!
Nice to hear some thought process on cornering, always have trouble trusting the berm and fully leaning in.
Thanks
This is exactly what I needed. Thanks Lewis!!!
Thanks!
Thanks for the great video! Flat corners would be another good one. Very well explained and can't wait to get out and try it.
Thanks!

Plus 1 for this

One more vote... Please could you take us through some of the steep turns on your three tech trails video? They looked horrendous! Love your content 🤙

I agree! Thanks for your input zach!
Everything make sense but I'll continue to square my corners because I like the sound of the tire squearting sealant 😂👌. Nice video as always :)
