  • One of my top-10 favorite albums of all time, since 1988. This CD has been with me through many amazing journeys in life. I have all three of their CDs, however the sounds of this one will forever be unmatched...fresh still in 2021. This was a hard one to buy back in '88, and is still rare today.

    2. A Sudden Breeze 4:40
    3. Circle Of Fire (Dr. Suvi) 8:47

    5. Senor Samurai 18:08
    6. Carolyn 22:42
    7. East/West 26:28
    8. Zuma 29:59
    9. Hong Kong Rain 33:18
    10. Red Car 37:17
    11. El Nino 42:23
    12. Boomerang 46:12

This is a real gem. You don’t cease to amaze with your uploads. You’re some kind of archival legend to be remembered by an admittedly niche, but very grateful, portion of youtubers.

Awesome! I had this CD ripped to my iTunes collection ages ago, and lost almost my entire music library when my computer bricked a couple years ago. Thrilled to find it here!

Chí is SO HIGHLY under-rated! This talented band deserves MUCH more justice! I'm a keyboard player, and I have a tough time analyzing the fancy tall colorful jazzy chords in many of these magical tunes!

@@KJCMuzique Those chords played right in the intro of the title song "Pacific Rim" are definitely far from simple major or minor triads. Hell, they're so complex that I don't think that one person with 10 fingers could play them by themself! *LOL*

@@alexdubler6533 yes, I’ve always loved that song in particular, those synth jabs from the Roland D50 really add a to the atmosphere of the piece. Makes me feel like I’m sailing at night

Fun fact: Steve Rucker and Tom Chase are the same duo who composed Dexter's Laboratory!
Great Album from the duo and shows them how they started out.
    Very underrated album indeed.

Finally got my hands on a copy of this one and sat down with it...and I can see why its in your top 10. Rucker's keyboard sounds remind me a bit of the tones that the Rippingtons used so well on Tourist In Paradise, but you also have Landau bringing in some of that fusion-flavored energy you hear on the Karizma outings. Wonderful album,

i just love returning to this every once in a while. as an 02 baby, i could firmly say tha sound of the 80s are superior (ambient instrutmental wise).

I'm a '90 baby but I still grew up surrounded by the leftovers of the 80s; the old videos, CDs, TV reruns, toys from older siblings etc didn't just disappear overnight. Something about that era feels so nostalgic to me even though I never actually lived through it! My mom is the same, she grew up in the 60s but feels like that about the 50s.

I always wondered how Chí is pronounced... CH-EE (like "ChiChi") or K-EYE (the Greek letter). Anyway, the last track "Boomerang" is the BEST to close it out!!
