To enjoy the pumpkin patch we visited a local farm named Helena Hollow, which is famous for arranging one of the biggest pumpkin patches near the Birmingham area. Pumpkin is an integral part of this Halloween celebration. The history of pumpkin patch with Halloween is very interesting. Carving pumpkins is a popular Halloween tradition that started hundreds of years ago in Ireland. Irish people carved faces into root vegetables to create jack-o-lanterns to keep evil spirits away. But, when Irish immigrants moved to the USA, they started carving those lanterns from pumpkins, and that’s how it all began.
The main highlight of a pumpkin patch is, of course, the pumpkins. You'll find acres of pumpkin fields with rows and rows of pumpkins in various shapes, sizes, and colors. It's a mesmerizing sight to see so many pumpkins ready for picking.
Children can enjoy corn mazes, hayrides, petting zoos, and even pony rides. There are often games and playgrounds for them to have a great time. Pumpkin patches are known for their family-friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It's a place where families can create lasting memories and traditions together.
