      Many thanks for that James. I try to make each one a little different but still let them flow. Of course its half the battle having great machinery to film in the first place which luckily I’ve so far managed to find on my travels. Many thanks for watching and your comment, very much appreciated. Cheers, David.

    This brings back memories to me when I was drawing a tandem axle trailer for 4 years for a contractor in Clare/Galway in Ireland during the 1990"s seems like decades how time flies all you needed was fine weather during the silage season and touch wood no break downs

      Hi Declan. Thanks for your great comment, I’m really pleased that my video has evoked your memories of your past. I’ve just Google mapped Claregalway, it looks a beautiful part of the world, I’ve always wanted to visit Ireland but never got round to it though I should make that happen especially in the summer when the fields are full of action. Your right in saying all you need is good weather and no breakdowns, makes all the difference to the operation. Can you remember what tractor(s) you were driving then? I’m intrigued now! Cheers, Dave.

      It is so good to see the silage crop being harvested by the farm owners especially when so many now use contracting services. This farm have been making their own silage for decades, I can still remember them using a MF 575 and Jaguar 40 trailed chopper back in the late 70s/ early 80s, just wish I could time travel back to then! I normally upload a new video on a Sunday morning so would be great if you could catch them. Yeh I follow Alan Balmesh too, he captures some great action from further down the county. If your looking for a few more channels to watch I’d highly recommend Jacooboo Photography, Brasso 1066 and George Ritchie, between us all we cover most of Cumbria and Southern Scotland without treading on each other’s toes. Great set up!! Fellow machinery blooded fan here. I’d expect trailed forager sales to start increasing with the current fuel price and environmental pressure on maize.
    Good windrows = Happy chopper!

    • @davidwinthrop7077
      @davidwinthrop7077  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally agree on all your points from a likewise farm machinery fan. It would be great to see more trailed forager setups working in the fields especially as you say with the ever increasing fuel costs. Many farms nowadays have a 130-150hp tractor more than capable of driving a drag chopper and as you say good, even windrows make the foragers job much easier. I’ve managed to capture a couple more farmer owned trailed foragers working this last week so will be posting the footage in the coming weeks. Pleased you enjoyed, thanks for watching and the great comment. Cheers, Dave.

      Hello from the UK, great to hear you are enjoying the video over in beautiful Spain. Regarding the hitching of the trailer and connecting the hoses it’s just a case of reversing up, dropping the pick up hitch and then reaching out of the back window to connect the pipes. You can just see this at 5:12 in the video. However you have given me an idea and I will certainly film a closeup video next year and post it. Many thanks for watching and your comment.
