Yes, every schoolboy knows a defendant is not required to prove anything. But gimme a break. If there's even a shred of favorable evidence, defense counsel is obliged to present it.
That's true. Then again, his defense isn't "I wasn't there," "I have an alibi" "it wasn't my checkbook." etc. His defense is "uhhh what crime. I don't see a crime. Do you see a crime?" So then the concept of positive or affirmative evidence is a little nebulous. What would that look like? A letter he wrote to himself explaining why he's not committing a crime written before the checks went out? That's not suspicious at all.
This case is literally A) a crime was committed or B) not. It's not like there's another suspect.

What pacific crime is Donald Trump charged with? If you say hush money then that's not a crime. Half of the politicians on both sides of the Isle can be changed with that. For the sake of argument let's say it is a crime, ok then why wait till the election year to prosecute beyond the statue of limitations when you've had the evidence since 2016? Wheater this is true or not IDK but it does make you question certain things like what does this has to do with high grocery prices, inflation, rising crime rate, open boarders, ect? Shouldn't we be more focused on the things that matters and what this administration is actually doing about it to lower prices and get back to the inflation level of 1.4% when Biden took office. Research it yourself and come to your own conclusion and what best fits you and your family just get out and vote or nothing really changes.

@@stephenwatts985 You know there's this wonderful thing called an indictment. It actually lists the crimes somebody is charged with and the defendant's alleged misconduct. It goes through no fewer than 3 stages of review before a trial is even held. Trump added a 4th stage by demanding unwarranted review by the appeals court who ALSO told him that there was enough evidence to prosecute.
i've been in criminal courtrooms a lot and every single judge i ever watched preside over a case would have instantly pointed to the door and raised their voice to say "GET OUT" the moment those maga repubs came in being disruptive.

Either admit the evidence and go by intent or plead guilty to the misdemeanors and more than likely there would have been no trial. 4) it’s unprecedented that so many are law and order that basically are proving trump is shady and should go to jail.

ME AS A JUROR ON THIS CASE: Have anyone ever called someone about something you thought was very important to you at that given moment but when you get on the phone the conversation changed to something completely different either because the person on the other side of the phone asked you a question 1st or brought up a topic not related to the reason for your initial call and when you get off the phone you realize you never did get to ask your question or concern or decided that now was not the right time to discuss that? That is what I believe happened to Cohen. Donald being the bombastic person that he is probably asked about Stormy situation and Cohen never did get to speak about the 14 year old and of if he did, mentioned it but tabled for a later conversation because the talkative Gemini Trump is and always talking about himself left no room for Cohen to get when he originally called for. This is what I thought, I never thought Cohen lied.

The separation of politics and legalese is supposed to be clear! The rule of law dictates that politicians are separate from the judicial system unless they are under foot accused of crimes. no. once convicted, he won't be sentenced to a prison incarceration.
Appeals don't work that way. They're not endless. In this case he has 3 shots. The NY appeals court, the NY Supreme Court, and then SCOTUS. Since its a criminal case, they'll be expedited. But unless there's a constitutional issue or his rights are violated, I really don't see SCOTUS accepting an appeal

@@josephjones825you really should look things up before you reply. A hung jury isn't an automatic acquittal. Like a guilty verdict, not guilty requires a unanimous decision. So double jeopardy doesn't attach. A mistrial due to a deadlocked jury can be retried

I think the max is like 10-20 years, but there's no way he gets more than 2. Even if he's initially sentenced to 10, there's a decent chance he's out by the election, even with a conviction.
I'm scared that one of the jurors will be intimidated by convicting someone like Trump, I'm really not sure how the trial will end.
