"'Sleepwalking' is one of the more personal songs on the album," says Tuttle. "I wrote it by myself, digging into the anxiety I have felt for many years about the effects of climate change and the ever-rising cost of living in the San Francisco Bay Area (where I grew up). I wanted to symbolically incorporate my experience as a woman with total hair loss (Alopecia Totalis) into the video for the song, because that part of who I am also informed the lyrics, in a subtler way. I lost my hair early on in life, and at times that experience has made me fear change and hold onto the past. With the visual, I wanted to raise the question of what it means to 'be yourself' again after a part of who you are disappears. What do we cling to in times of change? Hopefully each person who watches what we made will find a personal meaning in it."

One of the best music videos of any Kind I have ever seen. And thats saying something.
Couple years back I saw Molly in a video about the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, and learned for the first time that this was a thing, that a lot of kids have it, and that Molly herself had lost all her hair by age 4. Watching this breathtakingly beautiful woman, in as excellent and entertaining a music video as _any_ today, I can't help thinking about some lovely, precious little girl out there, embarrassed about having this condition herself, seeing Molly's bravery and artistic accomplishment in this video, and as a result feeling that much better about the amazing little person that she truly is, becoming inspired to put aside fear and reach for her own potential!

Two things about this video; it's strange to see a Molly Tuttle video and not see her playing guitar, she's one of the best acoustic guitar players in America, and I love it when artists show their real selves to the public. Having alopecia is certainly nothing to be ashamed of, especially when one is as talented as Tuttle. She's a beautiful, talented singer and musician, and now we know a little more about her and love her even more.
Without her hair we can really see her beautiful face! I love it.

The more your music diversifies the greater it becomes. You are brave with your alopecia, my daughter has the same and it bothers me that she has it a lot more than it does her. She looks at my fingers crippled with arthritis and says what she has she can live with but your hands better not be bloody hereditary. Keep that music evolving.

So I know the cross-picking bluegrass folks love hyperspeed these days but I always felt Doc played at about the right pace (not like he was slow) and I have to admit I dismissed Ms. Tuttle as missing the point of the songs in favor of gymnastic pyrotechnics. Wow, was I wrong! I love the new covers record (e.g., White Rabbit and She’s a Rainbow) and original songs like this. It’s like she’s a become whole different person/artist, and a uniquely wonderful one. Fantastic to see an artist have the courage to lay down the real magic this way. More please!

Franky Compagnone I just saw her playing with mandolinist Tristan Scroggins in a two-person show. They played an astounding Swedish fiddle tune she learned from the fiddler in her band The Goodbye Girls. You'd love it. I think the Goodbye Girls version is on TH-cam. there's also an online guitar teacher who posted Four Things to Steal from Molly Tuttle. I like it because he explains what she's doing.
