Thank you! I made one, easy, peasy, then began another. Midway through the second, I had to pause for a bit, so I just pulled the 'cozy' up onto my wrist. Great looking 'cuff bracelet', think I...when I returned to my 'comfy' spot to resume, I reached into my UFO/sample bag and pulled out a puffy rose motif and tied it to my new 'wrist cuff'! Huge bonus, if you do a lot of computer work, you can spin the motif side between your wrist and the keybord/desktop. Sooooo comfortable! Made another 'set' for my daughter for her work... Cup cozy, 'comfy cuff' and 'winged' my way through a coaster! Love, love, love the texture! A new all time favorite!
I am a beginner. I have spent the last month and a half learning my stitches. I have been looking for my first project and chose this. What a great pattern! Thank you for teaching us this project. Can't wait to use it.
this is my first REAL project and it’s so easy!! thank you so much, your tutorials are perfect for my brain, not over explaining anything but also telling me exactly what to do! thank you!!
+Linda Motley your welcome. Be sure to try it using three colours changing every round. It looks really good. Will be posting some on Instagram soon @prettydarnadorable
Thank you for this great tutorial. Love it so much. Made one for a friend by combining two yarns: black and grey, and used a 5.5 mm hook, ch 30. Really love the texture!
Love this pattern! I made one and decided to use it for my market coming up in a few weeks. I used a side 6 mm crochet hook and chained thirty. I haven’t tried it on a cup yet so I hope it fits. Thanks for the tutorial. 👍❤️😊
That's awesome! I have a dishcloth with the same stitch on my site - tutorial to come also a tonne of free labels and tags that are so cute. Here is the link www.prettydarnadorable.com/2021/05/07/free-and-easy-crochet-washcloth-pattern-the-brighton/
You are such an excellent teacher!!! Even though I’m a beginner I was able to make it!!! Thank u!!!! I’d b very interested in making a washcloth in this pattern❤️
love love this stitch. I've made plenty of cup cozy's. i've also made a winter hat and it looks amazing. one thing though. I would like to know the name of the stitch name.
@kathy Kossen I think I know where things went wrong! I was just doing another video when it clicked! Did you for get to skip the stitch under the chain one?
@@carlap2227 , Acrylic yarn should not be used for potholders or hot pads because it is essentially a form of plastic and could melt if you sit an extremely hot pan straight from the stove on it or grab a really hot dish out of the oven . I do not think the outside of a coffee cup with a hot drink in it is anywhere near hot enough to melt the acrylic yarns so you should be able to safely use it for a mug cozy. I have made them from hundreds of different acrylic yarns for years and I have never had a problem. I have even spilled boiling water on them a couple times with no noticeable change to them.
Hi. Just watched you for the first time, you mentioned a stocking video but I didn't see it in your line up. Am I just missing it? I love the stitch, and the texture is beautiful. Thank you..
Nice and ilike the txture..just want to ask why do you need to turn every after row..?can u not do it continuos row. ?just curious ..sorry if i asked about.. I will try this stitch with my beanie and purse or other projects
You don't have to turn but the stitch will start to go off to the side. Kinda like when you work sc without turning it moves slightly to the side with each round. You can see how it looks here in my hat pattern www.etsy.com/ca/listing/258774967/crochet-hat-pattern-brighton-beanie-hat?ref=shop_home_active_23&crt=1
Ive tried two of your patterns and have always had to give up. Its hard to see what you're doing. I don't know if it's the camera angle. Maybe I need to slow the speed down. Im pretty comfortable with crocheting and the stitches, but somehow I have to come back another time. I love your patterns though. Ive spent hours today trying to figure it out. Gonna stop now.
So sorry for the long response time. All you do is every time you finish a row or round you click the button and it increases the number on the counter. You can also do it when you start around or roll, but just make sure that you do it consistently each time you use it. Thanks for being here :-)
Yes absolutely!! I would recommend though going to a smaller hook the 6.5 I have the chain count included for that. Cotton isn't as lush as worsted so it may look kinda stringy if you know what i mean :) Let me know how you make out! xo

This is the first time I’ve seen something made in the round where you turn your work. It’s very interesting. Is there a reason, or just your preference?
Just personal preference for the turning :). It does look slightly different but still nice. Yes you could do the mug as you mentioned but I find it a bit easier to work in rows and add buttons :)

First try at this with your video. I did it. It’s not as pretty as yours but for my first try I like it. Thank you!!
+Christina Elizabeth wonderful!!! It will get easier keep going !
Thank you for the tutorial! Because if you I made an awesome cozy!
Wonderful!!! Would love to see it if you are instagram :)
Maybe we can add a short handle? For tumblers without handle?
Yes for sure - have had a few requests I will include that with my next cozy tutorial and you will be able to add to this one too 😍
Thank you I think I'll just use this pattern as wrist/arm warmers.
I made a pair too many moons ago! the ribbed cuff helps to keep them put - otherwise they can get a wee bit floppy :)
Thanks for sharing such a beautiful pattern!

@@prettydarnadorable No, I figured it out. Thank you for getting in touch 😊
Could you show row 4?
You crochet like I do, I wrap the yarn around the hook too. I’ve tried it several ways and I can’t do it any other way.
Me too I always try different ways to see if I can get faster but I’ve given in to my natural technique :-) have a wonderful weekend
We're wrappers😂
I wrap mine too. I wrap when I knit as well.. I tried like crazy. I just can't do it.
U are good but that stitch is one U have to watch and crochet this will be one crochet stitch I will be trying. Thanks
❤ Very easy
Acrylic yarn might look cuter but if your using for cold beverages only when you need a cozy for a hot beverage your supposed to use cotton only
Why do you need to use cotton for hot beverages?? I have not heard that so I was curious. Thanks!

How do you use the row counter on your finger

I like the texture. Could you use a cotton yard maybe since its for a cozy?

Ok, what if I double it? I could use the same size hook you used?
First time watching your video and I was just wondering what that thing was on your finger is?
It's for keeping track of stitches or rows just press the button when you finish a row and it is an easy way to keep count :)
What is this stitch called?
Pineapple stich cup cozy
do i HAVE to have a stitch marker?
lol i guess i'll use a paper clip🤗😋
+karys penner a paper clip is perfect 😍 I use them a lot and Bobby pins when I have them in my hair lol

You can use a bobby-pins
Depends on cup???
Thank you
Can I make it flat and sew together at end instead of working in the round ?
Yea for sure. The headband tutorial will help on how to work the ends of the rows. Just follow the counts etc for the cup cozy

This is the first time I’ve seen something made in the round where you turn your work. It’s very interesting. Is there a reason, or just your preference?
Also, if you were making it to go over a mug, could you leave a slit by not joining a couple of rounds, then putting a button and buttonhole or loop?
Just personal preference for the turning :). It does look slightly different but still nice. Yes you could do the mug as you mentioned but I find it a bit easier to work in rows and add buttons :)
Thanks!
What brand hook are you using, looks very comfortable to hold! Thank you for this tutorial 💕
I'm using Susan Bates crystalites you could normally buy them in a package of three. They are some of my favourite hooks.

You lost me when you said you flip it inside out! When are you flipping every row or just the last one when your filling in the holes?
I say to flip it just because as it gets bigger it can't get a little difficult to work after turning but it isn't necessary to do :)
Toooo fast!! Irs a tutorial please slow down 😢
Thanks for the feedback Holly - I will slow down in my next video :(
