I am glad you let your guys have what they could use, that's a great boss to do that! I especially enjoy your videos that you are going through the buildings, some pretty amazing things left behind.
Back in the early 70s, my family used to live behind the green house on the corner of strandview, which is sadly no longer there. I believe that building was built around 1978 - 1979. My Mom hated it when they built that condo there, I remember playing there as a kid among the Sea Oats, and it was a natural, vacant lot access to the beach.
I used to work in Florida building and installing those roll shutters. Pretty cool to see them again. I live in the midwest now, don't see very many around here..
@1:10:00 - At my condo, I moved our stuff out the first week the beach reopened. We took down the railing and unloaded everything through the patio because the regular hallway and one of the stairwells was stuffed full of debris. And because it was on the patio in a good location, there was no chance of someone accidentally falling.
Amazing what people abandon that was once their everyday belongings (or even just vacation life). Guess that's good for your pockets/business for sure. Things that you don't take but others could use and value you should find a way to give away. And thanks for thinking about the shelters with the towels. Now do we get to see a video of the demo of the building next?
The shirt over the mirror thing at 1:06:30 is an "old/deaf" person thing. My grandma (who was also deaf) used to put long sleeve shirts or sweaters over mirrors during storms (when the house would shake from the thunder) with the hope/belief that if the mirror fell/broke... Then the shirt/sweater might either save the mirror as it fell or at least catch the glass shards on the way down. And that way, when she woke up, she would know it had broken/fallen in the night and not step on it.
Wow I've heard a lot of explanations about this and they're not that same explanation, but that makes sense. Hopefully, you liked our video and you subscribe to our channel
