IT'S OVER!!!! LAST DAY IN MENTOR, ALMOST ALL HOPE GIVEN UP, AND I CLUTCHED A PASS ON VD CSP, PUTTING ME IN COBALT!!! AND RIGHT BEFORE AUGUST, MY 1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY PLAYING DDR!!!!!! LFG!!!!!!!!!
I was stuck in a 3-month struggle where I couldn't advance to LIFE4 Cobalt because my only missing req was a 19 clear... I kept trying occasionally but couldn't bracket well or have the stamina to close out this or PRev. Even though I was at Mentor for 9 days, I couldn't get past the beginning even though these pads were known for being super sensitive and the best for mash clears. I was given advice by Tyler (Haruka) and Dan (PQQP) because in my footage, I was trying to mash too fast for the beginning and never broke through.
Today, Dan ran VD with me, which was his first ever 19 attempt... I failed the beginning stream, and he got a sightread clear. I was able to look at the footage to see how he bracketed. I was about to give up and go home without the 19 clear... but him and Matt encouraged me to have one more set of attempts. Matt ran VD with me next, and I bracketed slower on the beginning and end AND EVEN COMBO'D plenty of the streams! I finally did it! I didn't beat my best score, but this was all I needed to submit for cobalt!!! The curse is over!!!!
Not only that, but Matt also ran back VD and got the clear after me! So that's all 3 of us who traveled from Texas to Ohio, getting all of our first 19 clears WITHIN 15 MINUTES!!! The footage of their clears is in this video as well! And this was the day after the Danh Danh Right tourney in Pittsburgh! What an amazing weekend, we all popped off hard!!!
