The thing with gensokyo is that everyone settles disputes by challenging the other person to a duel lol

Some tips for you as you move to future games.
First, every game has the same basic mechanics, but they combine them in different ways for each one. When starting a new game, make it a priority to learn how to earn extra lives and bombs (spellcards) for that game.
Second, in every game, you always have a default number of bombs that you start with. And that gets reset every time you get hit. For example, Touhou 16 gives you three bombs, that means if you get hit with less than three bombs, you be given up to three more bombs for your next life. That means you really want to spend all of your resources and use all your bombs before getting hit. Any bombs left in your possession when your taking damage are essentially wasted.
Third, the item get line. If you move to near the top of the screen, you will collect every item on screen at their max value.
Forth, learn about grazing. Grazing is the simple act of getting close to a bullet without getting hit. Unless you’re playing Touhou 10 or Touhou 18, the bullets you graze contribute to other systems or mechanics. Usually for scoring, but sometimes influence gameplay. For example, if you get extra lives from score thresholds, you would wanna maximize scoring to do well and survive. In Touhou 15, you get extra lives directly from how much you can graze. And here in Touhou 16, grazing is what helps you build up meter to use your season abilities.

Hey bro, lemme get you some help! The thing is that using the focus mode give you more precise movement, and if you wanna dodge lits of bullets, having precise movement and knowing your hitbox is ESSENTIAL! Mainly if you wanna play some harder games like touhou 11, 12 or 15 (get away from those as a newcomer, althought 11 is INCREDIBLE). You deserve more recorgnizement bro!

Thank you :) knowing hitboxes really is a good idea and in newer games they actually shoe the hit boxes (like this one) which definitely helps a lot! And yeah I hear that touhou 11 is good and got recommended to play it but I also hear it's very difficult

      11 is my favorite

Honestly, think of shift like your “walk” button. And your normal unfocused movement as you running. When you get more comfortable with the controls, being able to control the speed of your movement is much more valuable than being able to see your hitbox.

I recomend playing touhou 7 or touhou 10. They are the easiest games, and have less complicated mechanics that a new player might be overwelmed with. Also they feature very iconic characters. I also recomend watching some gameplays of the games yu play to see how people beat them. Start with easy and try to aim for a 1cc (no continue clear)

@oliwer_owo2212 I actually played it on my other channel (I tried experimenting with content placement, so there is actually a few touhou videos over there. I plan to do more on this channel, though at the moment I've been doing a lot of Sonic stuff)
