Hi, we are sorry to learn of your diagnosis with a meningioma. Dr. Rosenberg is the Chief of the NCI's Surgery Branch and conducts immunotherapy trials for patients with metastatic cancer (cancer that has spread) at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. Please note that meningioma not a cancer type currently being studied by the Surgery Branch. NCI’s Neuro-Oncology Branch (NOB) offers clinical trials and consultations for patients with primary brain and spinal tumors. To find out more about this branch, visit the NOB website at ccr.cancer.gov/neuro-oncology-branch. The NOB is not accepting self-referrals. A patient's treating health care provider should contact NOB first by sending an email to NCINOBreferrals@mail.nih.gov or calling 1-866-251-9686 or 240-760-6010. Take care.

    Great job!!
Please focus on what can be done over what can't be done
What can be done is infinite
Where as what can't be done is finite
    Keep going ahead ❤️👍

    Hello!
My daughter (36) was detected cervix cancer in 2012, the treatment was surgery, radiation and quimiotherapy. Since 2016 was detected lung cancer. Since april '17 until may'18 she received quimiotherapy, but did not showed possitive effects. Is it possible this inmunotherapy would work for her? Is there any medical institution in Argentina or MD., Ph.D. who is working in this investigation, with whom we can ask for this treatment? If it is necesary for more information, we have recient PET did to my daughter. Fully thanks!!!

Hi Maria, We are sorry to hear about your daughter’s diagnosis. Immunotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that helps a patient’s immune system fight cancer. You can read more about immunotherapy here www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/treatment/types/immunotherapy. Most types of immunotherapy are still being studied in clinical trials. Your daughter may want to speak with her doctor about the possibility of participating in a research study in Argentina. You can also reach out to cancer organizations in and around Argentina for more information about treatment and help locating clinical trials. You can search for organizations near you at icisg.org/membership/membership-list/ and www.uicc.org/membership. Take care.

+edi yanto Hello Edi, We are sorry to learn of your father’s diagnosis. Immunotherapy is a broad term which is used to refer to many different treatment approaches for cancer. You can review a list of the different types of immunotherapy here: www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/treatment/types/immunotherapy#1. In some cases, immunotherapy may be a part of standard (widely used) treatment for a patient with lung cancer. In other cases, immunotherapy may only be available in the context of a clinical trial (a research study looking at new treatment). You will find links to treatment resources for lung cancer here: www.cancer.gov/types/lung. The following resource contains more information on clinical trials: www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/treatment/clinical-trials. Your father’s doctor is in the best position to discuss how our information relates to his specific case. If you have additional questions, please contact us via phone, email, or web chat, www.cancer.gov/global/contact. We wish you and your father the best.
